Spoiler Alert: I recently deleted a few of my oldest videos, that I felt weren't that good anymore - the sleeper shark one and one about ants. They were from a time when I still learned how to animate and before I knew I want to turn this into a nature-science channel. This is the first of a series of replacement videos. I still have two more ant videos on my list, that will get made sometime in the future (probably next year) and a new sleeper shark video. Have a nice weekend you guys!
I loved the sleeper shark video, too. Don't be afraid if your early work looks a little unpolished to you later. They can still be great for the audience, especially since the information is still valid and fascinating.
You'd be surprised how much ants are like humans sometimes. Most defenses across all insects are to try and fend of ants, and ants make up a surprisingly large amount of biomass. They conduct war, some clear forests, some domesticate other insects, some farm, etc.
Milbox R insects/bugs indeed can't evolve in "full on" animals because they already are... ants dont need to change. they were here before the dinosaurs (in far more basic form) and will still be here faaaar long after we humans are dead. they have perfect societies where absolutely noone has to suffer from hunger etc. They are in a way superior to us... better infrastructure, coexistence with nature and as saied no one has to be hungry (if enough food is provided of cause)
Norok Vokun now your just pulling stuff out of your ass, ants fight each other for resources just like us and of course some of the ants do suffer from hunger how do you know they dont?
Some ant species keep other insects (like aphids) as "cattle." They protect and tend them so that in return they can feast on their sweet, sweet, sugary poop. XP Others can farm fungus, or tend trees in different ways. Not long now before they overthrow us all!
I've never heard of a Devils Garden before honestly I thought it was going to be like the Devils Kitchen which is a part of Cwm Idwal in Wales Be interesting if you could do a video on how such geographical features formed and the legend behind the name Cwm Idwal is a mountain I've visited a few times because it's a pretty good textbook example of geographical formations with glaciation, so Ive taken multiple trips to it with school But I don't remember how exactly the devil's kitchen was formed It's a black cracked crevice in the mountain which steam can often be seen rising from It's not volcanic activity as the volcanoes in the UK are long, long dormant I think it is obvious as to why it'd get it's name, but there's a lot more lore behind it that I don't remember
This makes we wonder what stops these Devil's Gardens. The way you described them in the video almost makes it seem like they would continue to spread through the rain forest unhindered. What is stopping these gardens from spreading infinitely and taking over the rain forest?
Wow!! There is a very similar ant that does the same thing! The acacia tree ants! However, since the Savanna is not a very dense place, it's much harder to notice the absence of some of the surrounding plant life. This video definitely thought me something new!
@Erik Lerström There's a lot of amazon folklore taught here in Brazil, for example, but as it is taught to the children they usually have pretty faces and bodies, even when their original story is horrifying.
I love your channel (ive only just discovered you) you have got loads of great and unusual content. Your channel is like a breath of fresh air, thank you so much.
This is amazing; I have never heard of an animal-plant symbiosis this extensive. Also this video is so good that while it is the only one I have seen from this channel, I have already subscribed.
"Japanophiles" are still pretty _pathetic._ *If you knew the true nature of the Japanese, not what they feign in front of Westerners, you cannot possibly remain fascinated with them.* Worshiping anything or any people as their fantasy versions and refusing to see all their aspects objectively, is hardly being different from insufferable anime nerds. How can you stay enamored over a vindictive people who unlike modern Mongols, venerate their warlike past of banditry, and see outspokenness even in the democratic 21st century as being ill-mannered or foolish? *A Feudalistic mindset for a people who still conform to the idea that the very concept of a class struggle is evil.* Any time you hear something good from any people, you have to keep in mind whenever something manages to get international recognition it's usually because they managed to be the cream of the crop in their country. Foreigners don't realize the other 90% is absolute crap and hence hardly gain international fame.
This is an intriguing scientific discovery! Well done on making this. I want to know more about this phenomenon and would love to see some real footage of one.
It was my bedroom closet when I was sixteen. Mostly fluorescent lightbulbs, cannibalized desk lamps, and some seeds I got from a sack I found at the park.
Maybe this information isn't known about these forests, but by the end I wanted to know about if such forests have any natural threats or anything like that.
Sorry, but I think that creature is from the Philippines. We have a creature named "Kapre" (ka-pre) It is a creature that shape shifts and turns into an animal, family member, friend and child. The looks of the "Kapre" is actually dark brown red eyes tall as the Philippine Tree "Narra" it has sharp claws covered in leaves and likes to smoke. It does not eat people and you can make friends with it.Sometimes you can see them too.
Also most tribes in the Amazon hate ants. They are seen as a cause of evil, sicknesses and even devils themselves. So I think that's not likely to change their mind or be a surprise to them.

the ants are cutting down and killing plants in order to make room for expansion and land? so they're basically like humans
You'd be surprised how much ants are like humans sometimes. Most defenses across all insects are to try and fend of ants, and ants make up a surprisingly large amount of biomass.
They conduct war, some clear forests, some domesticate other insects, some farm, etc.

So ants make gardens now? When they start making mini huts and villages do we make peace or war?
Passed Judgements why not both?
If they have oil, then declare war to the ants
these ants a so in touch with the treas, that they a like in one with the treas.
also they a way more energy efficient than us.

I've never heard of a Devils Garden before honestly
I thought it was going to be like the Devils Kitchen which is a part of Cwm Idwal in Wales
Be interesting if you could do a video on how such geographical features formed and the legend behind the name
Cwm Idwal is a mountain I've visited a few times because it's a pretty good textbook example of geographical formations with glaciation, so Ive taken multiple trips to it with school
But I don't remember how exactly the devil's kitchen was formed
It's a black cracked crevice in the mountain which steam can often be seen rising from
It's not volcanic activity as the volcanoes in the UK are long, long dormant
I think it is obvious as to why it'd get it's name, but there's a lot more lore behind it that I don't remember
Nice princess monoke reference ❤️
Mononoke
1:38 scared so much XD
scared the shit out of me!
I almost pissed myself
I wasn't expecting a jumpscare😂
Was the Jumpscare necessary? They could have just told us about it instead of giving us a heart attack!
My phone fell on my face *face palm*
This makes we wonder what stops these Devil's Gardens. The way you described them in the video almost makes it seem like they would continue to spread through the rain forest unhindered. What is stopping these gardens from spreading infinitely and taking over the rain forest?
2:16 the trees in the background don't loop.
MetroInferious fix your sentence

I'm watching this at 12 am and had a mini jumpscare at the "devil's" appearance
Awful86 hey i had that feeling to. My tablet was quite close to my face and loud not expecting it to jump out and create just a awful86 sound.
Red Pringles just 12? Pfffft. Try 4:30 am then we'll talk.

Sasha The pirate cat that's because it is.

Same. I was just laying in my bed and the sound scared the shit out of me.
I read this right before it happened and still jumped lol
You learn something everyday and is made even better when its accompanied with amazing animation

Daniel Bilodeau I noticed that as well. Lel
I just googled "birds of the Amazon rainforest" and there was a picture of it. Should've done a bit more research I guess ;)

Way more interesting than I considered it to be merely based on the title and the introduction. I'm a sucker for these sorts of things.
People around here actually call that demom Curupira.
american name is saberna carpenter
Hahaha
Search about "Kurupi",the Curupira counterpart from Paraguay.I live close to border so i hear alot about it.
