as a jacko main, i can confirm i drink 5 monster energy drinks a day because i would not be able to play this character without overdosing on it
so funny story, when i hit celestial challenge for the first time, onet was the first person i matched with.
safe to say the level 8000 ram steamrolled my puny little level 110 pot
Pretty hard matchup for Jack-O it seems, Ramlethal sword toss just pierces through every single servant and destroys them before attacking the character itself.
It’s traditionally been one of Jack-O’s hardest matchups partially for that. Ram more or less has answers to everything Jack-O wants to do. She can destroy minions from afar and up close, can snipe Jack-O in the air with jS, beats her in neutral with her large pokes, and force Jack-O to block often, which removes existing minions and prevents Jack-O from summoning more. It’s very much a MU where Ram suppresses Jack-O in every way, so Jack-O has to do a ton just to start her gameplan.

This match up looks really reaaaally rough for Jack O
I've never understood Onet's habit of tossing swords basically always. At least with Jack-O it more or less stuffs Jack-O's entire gameplan and forces her to start over. Personally I could never outside of a panic situation.
Well having better buttons is VERY important in this matchup
having access to normals that long and fast in this matchup is extremely good
But swords are only important for preemptive plays, which onet really likes doing consistently, which leads to a very very predictable gameplan
-not “ONLY” good, I worded it wrong
but it’s really not worth it outside of preemptive play against her minions, which caffeine played around here
Maybe that's why I struggle this match-up as Ram. Cause I usually never toss my sword when I'm mid-screen. I just go for f.S or 5H and keep trying to bumrush her. Lmao

Worse than average defensive options and damage, but is top tier because they have some of the most burst safe routes in the game, extremely good conversions and very good screen control

This ram is not very good
Gorilla strive is not a competitive game. That is, of course, you can compete using gorillas from the meta, but technical and risk characters like Millia are not needed here. Nothing has changed for 3 years now. The meta of the game is braindead cheap garbage with broken damage, or a broken autopilot that just skips neutral and cuts you off in the corner. these are two extremes in this game. and Millia is stuck somewhere in the middle, powerless against them. Garbage game. the worst thing they could have done to the series. narrow, variable-free tunnel and gutted gameplay.
don't mind me. I'm a fake, just like your game. Strive is fake guilty gear. I just can’t believe that after a masterly xx or even xrd, they released this shame. It’s not surprising that this dirty game has gathered the worst and most prejudiced community around it.
