When I was A kid (30 years ago) the beach was covered in so much colorful glass you couldn't see the sand or rocks! It was absolutely amazing! Something I haven't forgot to this day, nor have I ever seen anything like it! Watching your video has literally made me shed tears of sadness to see such A "barren wasteland" riddled with empty hopes and dreams! And stripped away from our future generations to enjoy!
I have been there!! Actually camped out there and it was the first time I woke up stepped out of my tent and took a 2 minute walk to the ocean. Beautiful place!
People calm down.... I can't believe some of the comments down below are really upset over the pretty glass. Guys I hate to be the bad guy here but it's not natural it's freaking trash from the locals that were grinded down and washed back to shore. If you want your trash covered beach back just collect some bottles and throw it out to sea, those precious pieces of glass will be back in 12 years. It really isn't pretty once you why the beach was covered in glass, it's sad really.
....aaahhhhhh....the natural beauty of it all.......I heard from a bloke in a bar in Mendocino in the fifties that the glass actually came from an early movie set of stained glass windows mounted in all the windows (24 of them) of a church depiting the .......................................wait....there's a knock at my door.................................
To be honest this video upset me so much. I just learned of glass beach and saw some photos that people took. To see all of these people going to collect pieces of glass to put on a shelf or in a drawer somewhere really grinds my gears. So much natural beauty in the world and it's just being degraded into nothingness for a few semi-memorable keepsakes.
how is it natural? WE put it there 40yrs ago. lol. also u can buy bags of this glass to spread out on the beach. its not gonna lose its name guys. lordy.
Tom I wana whatch this vid but its loading slow?, buff all the time...your previus vids are loading nice,, and there are all great so thats why i wana watch your latest . :)
XD it's not very easy to find red when I was there I found about 8 pieces and about was there for hours.I found tons of blue sea glass though blue is pretty easy to find you just have to dig a little bit and you'll see a few pieces! There's also purple sea glass that's the hardest to find.People brought shovels and were digging giant holes just to find a piece of purple sea glass XD I found 2 pieces of purple, i found one by digging a small hole with my hands lol and the other sitting there on the shore! My friend also found a piece sitting in the water.
Pay me well? ;-) I run a lot of Google Adword campaigns for clients so I guess it is me paying them well. ;-) I am a web designer, what do you do and where are you from?
You and Lorena may also like Fort Ross, CA, Stinson Beach, CA , Point Reyes CA...I didn't care for the beach in Eureka CA because of the awful smell/stench.

Same here. My mom would sit for hours sitting through and found two pint jars full of old marbles. That's all we ever took.
They really should preserve this beach from hands of people. I really like this beach.
you spoke clearly and slowly,it s a very good ESL class for me.
Another great video Tom!

won't be beautiful after 20 years when all the glass is gone due to the violators taking them

It's too bad all the tourists picked the beach clean of all the glass and there is barely anything left.
Great video. I've been going to Ft Bragg for years. There used to be a lot more glass but I think everyone took it home.
To your heart's desire!

wrong, you can't. There are signs that state that you should not remove the glass.

They recently passed a law saying you can no loner remove glass from the beach.

Tourists took away the beauty by the bucket loads...
a recent article says otherwise...

It's pretty sad that a whole beach was covered in broken bottles aka trash.
