It’s actually tragic. These flimsy display panels are cheaper to make. In Porsche, we loved the combination panels with smart displays and dials, now that was cool.

Hi .. let's start at the beginning, I'm from Romania, I'm 43 years old and I currently own a PORSCHE cayenne E Hybrid Platinum Edition and the car is k, I'm satisfied, but I've only driven 5,000 km, so it's natural that the car is k, being new.. I have owned PORSCHE cars before, all the Cayenne models and I will probably own them again if the people from Porsche come back... k now I will present my opinion as a loyal customer .. let's analyze together .. any Porsche customer will choose this car in the first place for the brand, elegance, sportiness, exclusivity and last but not least for the classic that the brand has represented for so many years (like ROLEX) you don't buy a Rolex to check the time, you buy it for status, reliability and the classic that it represents .. this was also porsche a sports car that offered the status of a design classic that did not need a revolutionary design to attract ... a pair for a Rolex not for a Casio .. this facelift is seen in the first place that it is made of economy and no longer represents what it represented .. 1 .. for example that handle for children can no longer be sporty, it no longer represents power, it is embarrassing when you park, especially in Europe where the parking lots are rare and small to stay with your fingers behind the steering wheel so you can do parking maneuvers or put it on manual etc.. 2 ..that console now without a shifter is less comfortable, the shifter gives you additional comfort to sit with a natural hand position on the armrest, I think it is more important than sacrificing such comfort to get candy or gum, etc in that bigger hole in the console or to sit with the phone on charge for hours because it needs cooling, you don't buy a Porsche for something like that .. the driving comfort wins who will understand this will win ... 3 that screen for the passenger is pointless such as going on a long trip with my wife or a friend, etc. and that someone should sit silently on the right and watch the movie, maybe I in the car can also hear the sound of the movie while I'm driving...or on the navigation system when you have a very big screen next to everything with navigation (it costs more and extra) and I, as a buyer, can never see it, anyway, if it were this kind of person on the right, it would clearly be on smartphones, not on the dashboard of the car .. 4 ..that classic tachometer that it is now in the middle, it gives it a dose of luxury and makes the difference between a VW, TOYOTA, OPEL, CHEVROLET, etc. and a PORSCHE .. this shows that you are now driving a luxury car full of digital displays from the windshield to the console anyway .. 5 .. that "new" sport respons is very cheap as a matte plastic material and it's not practical. While I'm driving, I see very quickly through the light in it what sport or sport plus or etc. is selected... facelft no longer offers this comfort ..6 .. that start button that changed the classic shape of the key is like Ford (Rolex vs Casio) no longer makes the difference between an expensive more exclusive car and a normal one .. 7.. it has too few commands on the console more precisely half of what it had, it no longer has shortcuts in the menu, not even a button for controlling the central display, it no longer has it and the whole board moves when pressed, next to that piano black Mazda that replaced the touch glass and beautiful metal from the comfortable and sporty changer 😔 .. 8 .. The handle for opening the door from the inside is exactly like a BMW without personality .. 9 .. the upper box is incomparably uglier and the material is very cheap compared to the current one .. 10.. a car that does not it has visible elements and details without metal inside, it cannot be called a luxury car .. 11.. the exterior changes now lead to AUDI, they are no longer fluid like the 911 should have done now and the square key not in the shape of the 911 needles headlights with the fluid shape of Porsche have disappeared .. too bad the taillight looks cheaper and there will always be dirt and dust between the letters and in the coupe version it is less aggressive without that cutout on the sides in the body where the taillight has that thicker ending .. the classic a died ... and with it the luxury for the Cayenne .. let's hope that the new model will be a PORSCHE .. the facelift is a commercial and cheap shame .. see the engine cover .. rear presses without grips etc .. I'm sorry to say this..but you should hire people in key points who know what to sell, who love luxury and understand luxury, for this you don't need schools or diplomas..they are people with skills on which I'm sure you can find them .. so ... BE CAREFUL DON'T LOSE WHAT YOU ARE .. on the contrary now with this rudimentar fashion ( screen , touch , etc ) you can make the difference even clearer through a cost that the client is willing to pay additionally .. Porsche must be a luxury brand dont luse and remeber for all the time … you r a Rolex of cars … remain that ..put smart people in your team .. you seal a statute with sportiviti

Ahh... I loved the First Gen Cayenne, was okish with FL. Loved the second gen, was okish with FL. Loved the third gen, not sure about okish on the FL. Taycan display with even more finger pointing while driving... and the one question I have not still received answer to - why in the world the shifter is brought to front panel? Is this some Honda Odyssey stuff :(
because the shifter is not even needed as "shifter" anymore. Since is not attached to the transmission there's no need to use the available space in the center console to place a useless chunk of material when that space can be put to better service by placing there useful buttons, screens and additional storage for the ever present smartphones of these days.

@@motorconcierge well, I don’t know how you use the Cayenne but the E3 Cayenne on everyday use have a few nuances related to the storage for the driver and the placement of the wireless charger. You cannot have easy access to your phone while charging unless you use an annoying cable and if you use the usb port in the console you risk damaging the cable with the lid all the time. These changes also bring the Cayenne more in line with modern cars from other manufacturers. If you don’t like screens in a car you can always go and buy a 1983 VW beetle and be done with it.

@@arcadialive4265 you can definitely get roof rack and rails from the Porsche dealer. I have seen a picture of them fitted to the coupe. It says that it can hold up to 75 kilos.

Why none of Western brands are doing PHEV like this is a mystery: The GWM is launching, in China, some PHEV SUV 400hp (beautiful) models that have a range of more than 1300 Km with a single tank of 55l, this is possible because they are run by electric motors, the small and efficient 1.5l ICE engine is mostly a range extender. It can also go 170 Km in electric only mode. That said, the air suspension should be standard in the Porsche. I also dislike this trend of full digital clusters: the excess of information detracts from the driving experience, and the screens are also worse for eye fatigue.
PHEV sales in china which is largest car market are cratering. So much so audi is halting sales. PHEVs never been big sellers in USA. Prob not worth hassle. For china, they really need a full EV, like yesterday
@@TeslaRoadtrips I don't know about the Chinese market, but this Cayenne hybrid is a PHEV, and it's a dumb one: they can shave off a lot of weight using more powerful electric motors and a range extender, both from the engine and transmission, but also from a smaller battery compared to a BEV. This will bring more performance and more range. That's because electric motors are way more efficient, 95% versus 20% of a traditional ICE plus transmission. In some markets, they could even use zero emission fuels, like ethanol in Brazil and other countries.
A PHEV is way more efficient than any ICE, this is the reason that PHEV vehicles are getting beyond 2000 km range. This is because newer PHEV are run by electric motors instead of ICE and transmission gears, and electric direct drive motors are up to 95%~98% efficient, versus 20% of an average ICE at the wheel, after both primary and secondary transmissions. There are not a single German car using this type of PHEV or EREV. Any hybrid can be configured to maintain the battery SOC at usable levels, above 50% for most use cases, this way the ICE can run under optimal rotation and efficiency just to charge the battery and leave all the heavy energy consumption events to the battery and electric motors. PHEV sales in China are up by more than 76% year over year, comparing first quarter 2024 to 2023.

It's so sad to see Porsche going with the crowd and getting rid of all the cool interactions between driver and car. The new dash without the analog rev counter and the new start button are so generic, just like you see in any other car, so unPorsche! It's bad, but the shift lever is the worst, in an electric car it's fine, but if you buy a Cayenne, one of the sportiest suvs, you want to interact with it, you're not worried about one more small storage compartment. I mean, even the new Range Rover has a "regular" shifter. I bet they hired someone from BMW for that interior redesign haha. At least the exterior still looks good.
As an owner of the current generation Cayenne, it's just sad to see this "evolution".

To boot, here come the ridiculous ADMs (additional dealer markups) for the upper-end variants like GTS, Turbo, etc. Did you know that PCNA (Porsche Cars North America) permits its dealers to charge as high as $200,000 *beyond* MSRP? So, don't believe the advertised price, especially if you want to go beyond a base model or typical S-model.
Porsche just reported first quarter sales that EXCEEDED projections for US and global. Porsche -- use that profit to support your dealerships and to eliminate ADMs. PCNA will gain sales by not turning away buyers.
Kjell Gruner -- rein in your US dealerships, clean your house, and sell even MORE cars. Simple math, Herr Doktor, simple math.
