    Unless you are doing a small tile job that you can set in one day, and you are using a leveling system, with pretty much any leveling system you will have to prepare for the next day to continue with the tile installation. What this means is that you will have to insert the bases under the tile and keep them in place while the thinset dries so they are ready for tile the following day. In this video I explain how I handle this and show you how to insert a base even if the thinset has hardened. Tile leveling leveling systems are designed for the installation of all kinds of tiles from 12”x12” and larger. The process i show in this video for replacing a broken, or forgotten clip, will allow you to insert the base clip into hardened mortar quickly and easily.

    Sal: When you say dont wait more than 24 hours to brake the clips cause the legs stays in, what about large format tile (24x48). I mean large format tile you need to wait 72 hours before to walk on, what is your tricks if we wait 72 hours for not braking the legs flush to the top of the tile ? Thanks for your help.

    Most of my clips broke off easily. A few were backed up by excessive thinset in the grout line and did not break off as designed. I needed to get the the two “legs” out for grouting. A utility knife did not work. I had to cut these out with a Dremel using a small bit. It was tedious. Using a multi tool had not occurred to me. I am sure it would have been much faster.

    Hey Sal..I had a problem with a customer who did not want me to use the leveling system. Because they said it was to expensive. They wanted me to use tombstone + spacers. I told them the benefits but they did not listen to me so I walked away from the job knowing that the tiles would have lippage. Do you think I did the right move.I laid out durock and replaced tye rotted wood . I got paid $0.I prefer quality like your videos. Thanks brother.

      Can't let a customer tell you how to do your job, but you should have gotten paid for the work you did do. Next time work the cost of the system into your price, like thinset, grout and anything else that you need.

Why not put clips at the Joint Letting it Flatten(not level) 3 points at once instead of wasting So many clips!..THE ones On vertical joints are a waste also..No need for Any.Eyeball the grout joint (or use a spacer)And Palm the tile while squeezing the wedge to avoid moving,.

      @@SalDiBlasi really?save pennies and As directed?You used a trashbag as a pan liner,no pre pitch and Stapled Wire lathe Through the same Garbage bag then mudded a shower pan.Please ,Your do it yourselfers don't know better but Apparently You don't either.If Your videos can't teach even the most experienced tilers ANYTHING then You aren't qualified to teach.Tile Coach videos STILL teach the best on this planet and would easily explain the 25 issues with your mud pan video..And its not to SAVE pennies ,its the fact that all those extra clips are pointless ,aka redundant. UNLESS the plank tile are long and warped and the clips actually bend and remove warps,bows,and train the tile flatter.You are NOT bending the tiles in This video.Once clipped where 3 way corner Meets on All Corner meets of Same tiles The 4 extra clips in between do NOTHING.

    • @SalDiBlasi
      @SalDiBlasi  3 роки тому +3

      @@johnbell1246 Well you said a mouthful, but all of it pointless and irrelevant. The video is to show how to install mud, not waterproof a shower floor. You obviously don't understand what a sealed shower system is, the bonding flange should have told you that the trash bag was not the liner for the shower, but part of the unbonded mud base for the shower. I know Isaac and he is a good guy and knows his stuff. I think he would say the same of me, why don't you ask him and find out. You might also want to check out some of my other 820+ videos, see what a sealed shower system is and how to build one. By the way i will use as many clips as I like no matter what you say.
