Because Tampere is the town I was born (and lived in for my first 25 years.) While I live in Helsinki now, I still consider, and introduce, myself as a 'tamperelainen'. 2. Because the Chief Architect of Nokia Arena, the hotel - the entire complex, is also the architect of my summer cottage: Marika Rökman, a family friend and a fellow herper from decades back! 3. That song is what made me a 100% Nightwish (and Tarja) fan forever! Get this: The Finnish qualifier of 2000 was a two-stage competition. Nightwish got a landslide vote with 1217 votes - 24% more than the 2nd contestant! The second round, with six top qualifiers, was held at - you'll never guess - Hotel Lordi! (Reminding you of anything yet? If not, too bad. The One-Point clue will not be given... ;) ) The second round had a public televote and a "panel of experts". The televote went for Nightwish with huge 15 453 votes! (The second entry got only half of that, 7766 votes...) Nightwish had caused a stir by then! But then, the "experts" selected Nylon Beat's boring song as their favorite. However, *neither* of them won the qualifying due to the points counting method! Both of the selected winners had highest points either from the public, or the expert panel. But both of them got high points on only one of them, and quite low points on the other. Thus, when the points were added together, neither won!! Highest total was for one Nina Åström. Yes, I also have not heard of her ever since... Ref. "Sexmane": His real name is Max Sene. It's a word play, where you vocalize his name kind of "backwards", switching across the first syllables of both words "max" and "sene", ending up with 'sex' and 'mane'. You'll need to try it in *strictly* Finnish pronounciation ("Rally English"), and your ears will tell you! :) Ref. Sini Sabotage: Her song name has no bananas or onions... "Kuori mua" - by its insinuated *real* meaning - translates to "strip me" (as in 'peel off my clothes'.)

It is so good that they use a new voting system for UMK now, and I’m really hoping that it will work in their favor again. What’s awesome is I will have a Finnish sim so I should be able to vote!!

And the old town of Tallinn is amazing, you have to go there, you won't see anything like that in Finland. I agree with the leaks, it sucks big time. I heard someone leaked snippets of the songs and I'm definitely going to avoid them at all costs
I already know we will have a great time, even if we freeze 🥶 it's going to be hard to avoid the snippets I'm afraid. Hopefully we won't have too many leaks this year but we're not off to a great start.

Btw, the two 15-story buildings attached to the Nokia Areena are designed by Daniel Libeskind who has also designed the new One World Trade Center in New York etc.
Haha I wouldn't put myself into the famous category, but thank you 😂 Daniel Libeskind is Polish-American like me! I'm very excited to visit Tampere and have a packed schedule of things to do there. Will be going to see the Manserock exhibit on my first day in town!

Ok so this is where it gets complicated. I am a Pelicans fan, but I own a Tappara jersey, however I hate their mascot Tapsu and much prefer Ipa from Ilves.
