That's basically what happened, yeah. I like Brax but he really just blew this way out of proportion. It all started as a misunderstanding and blew up into people witchhunting Atsu for things that didn't actually make any sense and had no proof behind it. It's really a good example of the state of the internet in general and the court of public opinion.

Yeah that’s what it seems like to me as well. Sucks for Atsu though since it sounds like a lot of people immediately assumed he had to be in the wrong and it was all true.

I felt a bid bad for brax since he does seems like someone who is a bit more awkward in social settings. But again, atsu is not in the wrong for not wanting to become his friend….. i think its notmal for brax to be upset but he doesnt need to do this, instead he should’ve make friends somewhere else.
this is really the hardest part to come to terms with for everyone; being social awkward in struggling is hard as shit. I get that it must have sucked for Brax but at the same time it's true no one has to be your friend. And Atsu had point, Brax did end up leaking private messages when he felt he was in the wrong which again is a poor move confirming why someone might not want to get close in a content creating setting because I think there is always feelings of leverage and it can very easily turn messy as we see here. All of this should have been dealt with privately because it really only comes back to hurt.
It feels so weird to see people outside of the genshin community talking about the genshin community 👀 it always feels like a very isolated community that people try their best not to make eye contact with if they're not in it. (I say this as an ar 60 player who's been playing for almost 3 years now)

i think a lot of people think of content creators with boundaries as “bullies”, i’ve seen that a lot. you’re expected to be friends with everyone and any declining of a friendship or collab is personal, for some reason, even though the other person is reaching to the content creator, not the person itself too
All those convoluted emotions and elaborate hour long videos, in the end it all came down to someone "not wanting to be friend". There's a reason I despise Twitch.
If you followed Atsu awhile, you know that he's not necessarily a bully but he does have a huge savior complex and will do anything to satisfy that. Take that as you want, but in every "controversy" and interaction with his chat that he's had, he holds an air of being "above" you.
@Renvi in my eyes atsu is not a bully but he does have a tendency to let his emotions run over him and instantly start expressing his thoughts on twitter without thinking, or properly wording his words right. I've seen him do this multiple times and it's a bummer really. But I recall a tweet he made after this whole drama saying he would think first before rant/vent so hope that carries on
I love playing genshin but I have never interacted in the fandom space for it for this very reason. There's always something negative going on. It's a lot more fun just talking about it with my friends and leaving it at that.
I think if you think of it in those terms you're missing a big part of the story. These aren't friends, they're content creators. Content creator "parties", especially ones hosted by their sponsors, aren't really about partying with friends, they're about networking, it's important for their careers. If someone is being blocked from networking opportunities in their work, it can have a hugely detrimental effect on them and their careers. Being effectively discommunicated in the content creator space can mean the death of a channel. As Brax said in his final note on the subject, he didn't expect that they'd be friends, and he understood Atsu's first messages to be about not vibing with him as a friend, but there's still an expected level of polite work-related communication expected between content creators who work in the same space.

Its about being forcibly shut out and ostracized from a community that you rely on for your livelihood by someone far more powerful than you, who refuses to explain why they're doing it other than being seemingly out of spite. I am equally enthralled by this drama and mystified that grown adults are this involved in getting invited to some parties with people who dont like them while those other people are going to such lengths to keep some people they just dont like from going to some parties.

Some context non Genshin players might be interested in: neither tectone nor sipsipstephen are well liked in the community (at least, in the circles I’m in). A lot of ppl hate them. I think it’s mostly a personality thing, but iirc tectone called Genshin characters “lolis” which started the hate. Stephen was bullied off TikTok for a while I think just for being annoying. Hoyoverse itself has a lot of controversies (racism, colorism, maybe creating lolibait, etc) so being a cc in this space you have to piss some people off with your takes inevitably.

im ar58 in genshin and started a few months after the game released, i used to watch content to know more about the games and tricks to it, but its been two years since i avoided the community because its not helpful to me anymore.
ive never heard of any of these people before and have already forgotten their names but it's super against twitch streaming etiquette to self promo / network in a streamer's chat. goose egg was wild for that. it's usually explicitly in the streamers rules that it's not allowed, and people rightfully get timed out / banned for it like whether you watch streams or not, that is their job. can you imagine if some guy went up to anyone else at their job, gave them a dollar, and started ranting about their small business? that's wack

im here after seeing CCs talking about this few hours ago on their uploads. im also here for the tea!!! im not a genshin fan but i played it for 3 weeks a month ago before wuwa. before this, i played a lot when i was younger, seen CCs goofing around, also saw other CCs from other games like valheim which i dearly love but boy oh boy, i never had foreseen that i will, one day, see a drama by male CC community . i know that genshin is for kids but i never thought these grown up CCs will create a huge drama that i usually see among female vloggers etc like kids fighting over a toy and making a big fudd about it🤣🤣🤣
Not sure I understand this drama fully, but it all seems so, blown out of proportion? Personally I feel like I agree with Atsu more so than the others. If you look at this drama as if these aren’t streamers and just as random humans, their behaviour is so silly. Being a grown adult and venting to strangers online about feeling excluded is such an odd way to handle problems with peers. It seemed like he didn’t get the response he wanted from atsu so he decided to go public with it. Going on about agreeing with the statement that you don’t need to be friends with everyone in your work environment, while simultaneously being hurt that someone in your work environment doesn’t want to be close with you? Maybe it’s bias, but Atsu seems like the most sane in this situation. It’s valid to not want to be close to individuals, hell, even if it isn’t for a good reason, it’s fine! Nobody can expect to be desired by everyone, sometimes you’re just not someone a person sees a friendship with. Yes, it may be rude to (allegedly) blacklist someone from an event (which Atsu claims was out of his hands) but the company and others have freedom of choice, regardless of if it’s a mean move or not. Coming out publicly claiming allll these things without any evidence is wild. It’s valid to be hurt by the thought of not being wanted in a community, but to air it out like this? It seems more like some insecurity is intertwined in that. For the other people talked about in the video I can’t really comment on them since I have no idea who they are. Also I just never liked tectone so that wouldn’t be fair to comment on lol. It’s just so childish and did not have to be handled in the public eye, at all!!
Actually content creators really do have to be “friends”, when networking and making connections with others is part of your job and if not maintained can cause the downfall of your job it’s a pretty big deal
Damn I would be cancelled if I became famous. I base my friendships and interactions to ppl on what the vibe I felt to them. If I dont like the vibe I get from someone, I avoid interactions with them. Even coming off as unfriendly. It’s not about hating on someone, it’s just that i just dont feel comfortable being around with someone that has the wrong vibe. I'm a Genshin player and I heard but didn't care to learn more about the drama until I clicked on this video out of curiosity. Thanks to this, I'm glad to learn that Atsu and Brax have resolved their differences and misunderstandings. And then there's Tectone trying to make more content out of criticizing Atsu. I've never like Tectone and this further cements my opinion on him. If he complain so much, why not just quit Genshin? He's clearly doing all these for content.

I'm sorry but, this felt like a very immature dispute that got blown out of proportion. If Atsu went all mean-girl, i would understand. But from what was described, it sounded like two dudes tried to befriend him, he felt uncomfortable, he kept them at arms length. Then, in separate events, he pitched to a sponsor for benefits for him and his friends on their behalf. He did not pitch it for everyone, which is normal. And that became evidence that he is an absolute bad person? If a person made me uncomfortable on the first interaction, i will probably need a long time to reverse that first impression 😅 . It's not a great feeling to be excluded when my friends are included, but no one owe me a friendship especially if I've made them uncomfortable.

I can explain this pretty well: Tectone is infamous for taking small, little slights as full-blown personal attacks. Zy0x, days after the tweet, even noted that he was careful when name-dropping Tectone on stream because he knew that Tectone had lackeys that alerted him whenever someone talked about him. The genshin community also has the "everything is a personal attack" mentality. When Zy0x tweeted two opposing views (Doro who was happy with the game, and then Tectone who was upset), he unknowingly pit two HUGE sides of the community against one another. Large amounts of people harrassed Tectone and Doro. Doro stayed out of the situation pretty well, however Tectone? Tectone took all the people attacking him and made a drama video out of it. And from there, it snowballed into a youtuber vs youtuber drama In other words, manchild (tectone) got ""attacked""" by Zy0x and chronically online Twitter followers, he made a bunch of videos on it to farm views, other genshin CCs made videos about Tectone farming views, and everyone started attacking one another because of Tectone 😭

I've been playing Genshin since launch and I would watch Tectone and Mtashed to learn more about characters and how to build them ect. I stopped watching when the first of the genshin drama started happening lmao. I only watch a couple people who cover genshin and thankfully they're chill and never in stupid drama.
Superhetoric’s description of it is negatively biased. It’s an open world RPG in an anime style that has a gacha for new characters. However, you get 9 characters for free, and can clear the game just fine with those. Gacha overall is still exploitative and I hate it, however the appeal to the game for me is the writing, environment design, and music.

I know I’m being that one people saying “they gave off a weird vibe” but at this point it’s true. A lot of the genshin creators, specifically the ones who do irl events and steams, have a very clickish attitude and/or vibe and based on what just went down this just proves that statement. It’s one of the reasons I stopped watching those particular content creators, plus I just found new creators to watch and that I enjoy better. I just wanna play a game I enjoy without hearing about the community being thrown into a ton of drama, but then again it is genshin which many, for some reason, have a personal vendetta against.

I felt a bid bad for brax since he does seems like someone who is a bit more awkward in social settings. But again, atsu is not in the wrong for not wanting to become his friend….. i think its notmal for brax to be upset but he doesnt need to do this, instead he should’ve make friends somewhere else.
this is really the hardest part to come to terms with for everyone; being social awkward in struggling is hard as shit. I get that it must have sucked for Brax but at the same time it's true no one has to be your friend. And Atsu had point, Brax did end up leaking private messages when he felt he was in the wrong which again is a poor move confirming why someone might not want to get close in a content creating setting because I think there is always feelings of leverage and it can very easily turn messy as we see here. All of this should have been dealt with privately because it really only comes back to hurt.
It feels so weird to see people outside of the genshin community talking about the genshin community 👀 it always feels like a very isolated community that people try their best not to make eye contact with if they're not in it. i think a lot of people think of content creators with boundaries as “bullies”, i’ve seen that a lot. you’re expected to be friends with everyone and any declining of a friendship or collab is personal, for some reason, even though the other person is reaching to the content creator, not the person itself too

If you followed Atsu awhile, you know that he's not necessarily a bully but he does have a huge savior complex and will do anything to satisfy that. Take that as you want, but in every "controversy" and interaction with his chat that he's had, he holds an air of being "above" you.
@Renvi in my eyes atsu is not a bully but he does have a tendency to let his emotions run over him and instantly start expressing his thoughts on twitter without thinking, or properly wording his words right. I've seen him do this multiple times and it's a bummer really. But I recall a tweet he made after this whole drama saying he would think first before rant/vent so hope that carries on
I love playing genshin but I have never interacted in the fandom space for it for this very reason. There's always something negative going on. It's a lot more fun just talking about it with my friends and leaving it at that.

I think if you think of it in those terms you're missing a big part of the story. These aren't friends, they're content creators. Content creator "parties", especially ones hosted by their sponsors, aren't really about partying with friends, they're about networking, it's important for their careers. If someone is being blocked from networking opportunities in their work, it can have a hugely detrimental effect on them and their careers. Being effectively discommunicated in the content creator space can mean the death of a channel.
As Brax said in his final note on the subject, he didn't expect that they'd be friends, and he understood Atsu's first messages to be about not vibing with him as a friend, but there's still an expected level of polite work-related communication expected between content creators who work in the same space.

Its about being forcibly shut out and ostracized from a community that you rely on for your livelihood by someone far more powerful than you, who refuses to explain why they're doing it other than being seemingly out of spite. But sure reduce the whole situation to some dumb infantile conclusion because you dont personally care about it.

As someone who’s been a part of Genshin since its release, there are literally sub friend groups of the genshin cc community. It’s totally normal to not be and not want to be friends with people. If someone feels like they have been wronged in that aspect, it’s way more mature to just shoot someone a dm instead of drawing more people into unnecessary problems publicly 😐 I’m EXTREMELY tired of Tectone and the way he acts, he’s been a nuisance since day one, and has said multiple times he was quitting Genshin and the community, just to insert himself back in again. I even used to defend the guy, bc sometimes he makes good points, but atp it just seems like he wants to rage bait people lmao

Some context non Genshin players might be interested in: neither tectone nor sipsipstephen are well liked in the community (at least, in the circles I’m in). A lot of ppl hate them. I think it’s mostly a personality thing, but iirc tectone called Genshin characters “lolis” which started the hate. Stephen was bullied off TikTok for a while I think just for being annoying.
Hoyoverse itself has a lot of controversies (racism, colorism, maybe creating lolibait, etc) so being a cc in this space you have to piss some people off with your takes inevitably.

im ar58 in genshin and started a few months after the game released, i used to watch content to know more about the games and tricks to it, but its been two years since i avoided the community because its not helpful to me anymore.
ive never heard of any of these people before and have already forgotten their names but it's super against twitch streaming etiquette to self promo / network in a streamer's chat. goose egg was wild for that. it's usually explicitly in the streamers rules that it's not allowed, and people rightfully get timed out / banned for it
like whether you watch streams or not, that is their job. can you imagine if some guy went up to anyone else at their job, gave them a dollar, and started ranting about their small business? that's wack

im here after seeing CCs talking about this few hours ago on their uploads. im also here for the tea!!! im not a genshin fan but i played it for 3 weeks a month ago before wuwa. before this, i played a lot when i was younger, seen CCs goofing around, also saw other CCs from other games like valheim which i dearly love but boy oh boy, i never had foreseen that i will, one day, see a drama by male CC community . i know that genshin is for kids but i never thought these grown up CCs will create a huge drama that i usually see among female vloggers etc like kids fighting over a toy and making a big fudd about it🤣🤣🤣
Not sure I understand this drama fully, but it all seems so, blown out of proportion? Personally I feel like I agree with Atsu more so than the others. If you look at this drama as if these aren’t streamers and just as random humans, their behaviour is so silly.
Being a grown adult and venting to strangers online about feeling excluded is such an odd way to handle problems with peers. It seemed like he didn’t get the response he wanted from atsu so he decided to go public with it. Going on about agreeing with the statement that you don’t need to be friends with everyone in your work environment, while simultaneously being hurt that someone in your work environment doesn’t want to be close with you?
Maybe it’s bias, but Atsu seems like the most sane in this situation. It’s valid to not want to be close to individuals, hell, even if it isn’t for a good reason, it’s fine! Nobody can expect to be desired by everyone, sometimes you’re just not someone a person sees a friendship with. Yes, it may be rude to (allegedly) blacklist someone from an event (which Atsu claims was out of his hands) but the company and others have freedom of choice, regardless of if it’s a mean move or not.
Coming out publicly claiming allll these things without any evidence is wild. It’s valid to be hurt by the thought of not being wanted in a community, but to air it out like this? It seems more like some insecurity is intertwined in that. For the other people talked about in the video I can’t really comment on them since I have no idea who they are. Also I just never liked tectone so that wouldn’t be fair to comment on lol. It’s just so childish and did not have to be handled in the public eye, at all!!
Actually content creators really do have to be “friends”, when networking and making connections with others is part of your job and if not maintained can cause the downfall of your job it’s a pretty big deal

I'm a Genshin player and I heard but didn't care to learn more about the drama until I clicked on this video out of curiosity. Thanks to this, I'm glad to learn that Atsu and Brax have resolved their differences and misunderstandings. And then there's Tectone trying to make more content out of criticizing Atsu. I've never like Tectone and this further cements my opinion on him. If he complain so much, why not just quit Genshin? He's clearly doing all these for content.

I'm sorry but, this felt like a very immature dispute that got blown out of proportion. If Atsu went all mean-girl, i would understand. But from what was described, it sounded like two dudes tried to befriend him, he felt uncomfortable, he kept them at arms length. Then, in separate events, he pitched to a sponsor for benefits for him and his friends on their behalf. He did not pitch it for everyone, which is normal. And that became evidence that he is an absolute bad person?
If a person made me uncomfortable on the first interaction, i will probably need a long time to reverse that first impression 😅 . It's not a great feeling to be excluded when my friends are included, but no one owe me a friendship especially if I've made them uncomfortable.

I can explain this pretty well:
Tectone is infamous for taking small, little slights as full-blown personal attacks. Zy0x, days after the tweet, even noted that he was careful when name-dropping Tectone on stream because he knew that Tectone had lackeys that alerted him whenever someone talked about him.
The genshin community also has the "everything is a personal attack" mentality. When Zy0x tweeted two opposing views (Doro who was happy with the game, and then Tectone who was upset), he unknowingly pit two HUGE sides of the community against one another. Large amounts of people harrassed Tectone and Doro.
Doro stayed out of the situation pretty well, however Tectone? Tectone took all the people attacking him and made a drama video out of it. And from there, it snowballed into a youtuber vs youtuber drama
In other words, manchild (tectone) got ""attacked""" by Zy0x and chronically online Twitter followers, he made a bunch of videos on it to farm views, other genshin CCs made videos about Tectone farming views, and everyone started attacking one another because of Tectone 😭

Superhetoric’s description of it is negatively biased. It’s an open world RPG in an anime style that has a gacha for new characters. However, you get 9 characters for free, and can clear the game just fine with those. Gacha overall is still exploitative and I hate it, however the appeal to the game for me is the writing, environment design, and music.

I know I’m being that one people saying “they gave off a weird vibe” but at this point it’s true. A lot of the genshin creators, specifically the ones who do irl events and steams, have a very clickish attitude and/or vibe and based on what just went down this just proves that statement. It’s one of the reasons I stopped watching those particular content creators, plus I just found new creators to watch and that I enjoy better. I just wanna play a game I enjoy without hearing about the community being thrown into a ton of drama, but then again it is genshin which many, for some reason, have a personal vendetta against.
ok i’m halfway through this and let me get this straight. someone got upset because..they didn’t know why someone else didn’t want to be their friend?… aren’t these adults 😭 don’t get me wrong, it’s absolutely valid to be hurt and confused, but the initial response in the early text exchange (explaining why he’s kept at arms length / doesn’t fully trust him etc) seemed like a VERY fair and reasonable response… lol i just don’t get it? its normal to be upset i guess, but you aren’t really owed closure from someone who simply doesn’t want to upgrade the relationship beyond “acquaintances” 😬 to have all of this drama stirred up over *that* is WILD to me. not every person is going to like you & want to have a friendship, it doesn’t matter if “even *their* friends like me!” okay? lol and?… idk this is all so bizarre and i’m SO sucked in hahaha.
Yeah it’s so bizarre. This whole thing happened bc a grown ass man overthought everything to the point he made an excel presentation about it… all bc someone didn’t want to be his friend…. I just don’t get how he thinks he’s owed an invite to this man’s parties and stuff when the man made it clear they weren’t friends.

I think Austin left out why Brax tweeted. It was because Atsu was subtweeting weird/mean things about ppl beforehand and also insinuated that a “genshin guide maker” who was implied to be brax was telling Tectone information and lies about ANOTHER genshin drama in the Chinese playerbase lmaooo
it was about knowing he wasn't getting invited to ANY content creator event on porpuse, not about not being friends
I haven't played genshin in a while since my potato of a phone can't handle it anymore and i've also been out of the community for a while and damn i did not expect to come back to this, especially from somewhere outside the genshin community lmao
