Dear Brenda and Jim, You could have easily edited out getting to close to the elevator, but this is real life. How can others learn if everything is perfect? Great filming and letting us know how Baron is doing.
I laughed at Brenda's comment on the pair backing up to the hay wagon " their idea of a little bit and his were two different things" lol. Have a GREAT weekend!
I love watching you back the team up to the hay wagon. Watching them side Step when you turn them amazes me. You have done a great job training them Jim. Wish I was close enough to help you fix the wagon but I am sure William will be a great help to you. If you are done haying for the year then it becomes a winter project. Be safe on your travels to the horse power show. God bless you both for the work that you do.
Oh gosh, I'm so sorry to see these challenges. It seems even harder when you're trying to get ready to leave. As someone said, you could have edited them out but I'm so glad you didn't. We all have challenges, as you know, and it's VERY motivating and inspiring to see how you handle adversity. It's sad to see people have troubles but it helps to know we're not alone. We can take our time and come thru them.
Good to hear that Ken's leg is fine again! Have a good time at the field days! Sounds to be an interesting event, hope to see some footage in next videos. Have a great day! -Chris
Can't wait to see the vids from DAPNET. Thank you for the update on Baron...Thank YOU FATHER GOD for watching over Baron, be with Jim and Brenda and Ken and Bill on their trip to the Field Days Event . lov from south alabama
Seems like “stuff happens “ when you are on a tight schedule and not so much when you have lots of time. Luckily William is there. You folks are great ambassadors for the two main draft horse breeds and the Suffolk Punch. Have fun and enjoy DAPNET!!
Ken's neck is awesome .. all your horses are beautiful. I would love to be able to visit DAPNET in person; although cannot, I do look forward to seeing video of the doings. I am glad to hear report of Baron doing well at the veterinary facility by New Berlin. Thanks Brenda for great video, time after time. Love seeing how the kitties regularly get right in the midst of things. Please be well and safe and enjoy all the beauty of your Vermont weekend.
Jim your horses are yours . Clip manes , wear blinders, use tie stalls ,water with a trough . Go to horse pulls and castrate stallions if need be . Wonderful channel .Cheers 😊
Good video, Brenda! Sometimes things just happen, but happy to see everyone handled it well even Ken & Bill. Have a GREAT time & Safe Travels. Looking forward to your video's you share a Dapnet field days!! ...God Bless
Hi, Jim, Brenda, Great video! Thanks for the up date on Baron! Sounds good! Have a great trip, stay safe on the road.....Jim, Nova Scotia, Canada... God Bless.
Broken wagon beams, glad it's not me, been there more than once. Hardwood, or steel is the answer! For traveling and overnighting I made up 20 steel gate panels, they are 5 ft high by 8 ft long and have 4 rails. They have interlocking ends which can pin together to make temporary corrals. 2 always hang on the side of my horse truck as ramp fences, but if I'm setting up camp in the bush I can make a couple good sized corrals in a matter of 20 minutes. I haul my horses in a 1 ton dually with a stock box, so I can tow anything behind, forecart, implements, my tilt trailer with equipment, sleigh carriage etc, along with gates, water, round bale of hay, for a job far away where I'm setting up camp. Glad to see Ken working again. Best of luck this weekend and safe travels to and from.
Hello, I love these beautiful and special animals, I was sad because I think the manes on horses are so beautiful, but it must have a purpose. Thank you for showing these majestic animals, so well trained and treated, I love them. hugs from Portugal
Had to smile at the binder twine holding up the 2 x 6 on the hay wagon. I remember many times my dad and myself using it for so many things, even a quick halter for a calf. Brenda, I could hear the geese In the beginning of the video and the moon was great at the end. Thanks for sharing
I really love watching youre video's! I get to enjoy the life of being on youre daily work on the farm and get to see so nice surounding ( dont know if i typed that correctly) of the nature. Greetings from the Netherlands
Need a picture of the hay wagon the elevator with hay going up and the horses for a calendar picture. Jesus loves you both more than you will ever know.
You may be able to repair the hole in your water container using plastic welding with zip cable ties and a soldering iron. There are a number of DIY videos on it on UA-cam
Abby and Trudy ( Jim's daughters ) live near by . Plus not much happens in up state N Y that the neighbour's, don't know about .Plus state troopers numerous .A house break in low risk .Livestock break out with Jim's poor fencing bigger risk .😊😊😊
I don't know why I have never done this but what if you had the elevator on rollers top and bottom? Then you could have it pushed in out if the way and pull it out to the perfect place
Our elevator had a metal slide about 3 ft long and taper , that flipped up and down . Jim could have a machine shop make one for him .Or just keep doing things the way he is ,no damage happened .😊😊
Hey, Jim, random question. Why not teach your horses "just a step?" By and large you mostly don't have a lot of problems with them backing too much, or otherwise not being in a good position for you. But, there's always those relatively frequent situations where if they understood "one step" that'd be a lot easier for you than some back and forth. Training time is really precious for you though, so, I know that's not something you can do on careless whims. Just a thought. Have a great weekend this weekend! Glad Ken is doing better!
Tyler May I suggest Brenda's newsletter. Its free published every Tuesday morning at 6am . Where she finds time ,I do not know .Oh buy the way , Williams horse is kept in the big box stall behind where manure spreader is parked and his horses names are"Randy and Junior".😊
Yes .Called a pasture .Jim's electric fence , keeps all his critters (cows and ho 25:21 rses) home most of the time .Cows are at the neighbour's, always a stressful time .Cows are in the oats ,that shifted us kids off the couch from in front of the T V . Now there memories, at the time an annoyance. 😊

Brenda you are doing a great job filming!
Dear Brenda and Jim,

Ken is really a magnificent looking horse.
I laughed at Brenda's comment on the pair backing up to the hay wagon " their idea of a little bit and his were two different things" lol. Have a GREAT weekend!
Yes, she made me laugh too!
Love a big horse with a roached main. Ken carries his head so nicely
I think the growth in the use of draft animals the last 40 years has been amazing!
I love watching you back the team up to the hay wagon. Watching them side Step when you turn them amazes me. You have done a great job training them Jim. The dappling on Ken's coat is really beautiful right now.
Ken looks so handsome after his hair cut.The barber did not offer a hot towel and pomade😂❤.That new baler makes beautyful bales.

Incredible how the team steps and moves together almost identical.
Packing up for a road trip seems to be just as big a deal whether it's with kids or horses! 😂
I can assure you, horses are a bigger deal than kids. But at least the horses are not in your ears throughout the trip.
When Ken almost fell I gasped 😮
And yes Brenda, I gasped as well. Especially since Ken was just recovering. Glad all is well. Have a great weekend.
Hope you all enjoy a safe and fun trip! Love seeing Ken's Kitten (KK) gracefully zip out from underfoot!
Safe travels, prayers for the horses and you.
Exciting video watching Jim get wagon un-stick. Love close ups of Bill & Ken, Awesome draft horses
Those are 2 smart horses. And good looking too. Jim did a great job of getting out of a tough situation
Black and white barn kitty wants more camera time!
Ken has dapples, meaning he is in good heath, a credit to you
Brenda and Jim, enjoy your well deserved mini break.
Good to hear that Ken's leg is fine again! Have a good time at the field days! Sounds to be an interesting event, hope to see some footage in next videos. Have a great day! -Chris

A fine piece of horsemanship.
Both horses and driver😊
Watching those bales going up the elevator into the hay mow is a familiar sight for me. Takes me back to farming days when i was growing up.😊

Looks like Jim is having a Murphey's Law day. First a beam on the hay wagon breaks, then the wagon hits the elevator 😏
Yep! Good ol Murphy jus waits for the “right/perfect” moment.
Your horses work SO beautifully!!!
no body hurt ,horses uninjured, machinery ok all is well and fixable

That's the way I like my haircut Ken. Nice and short.
Hope you have a great trip.
Great video ! That sure looks like a great horse trailer.
What a Cinematic Photographer you are Brenda. Your stamina is terrific. I’m a quiet person, but you have me beat hands down, truly. Smiles, B

The boys look great with their new mare cuts!😊❤
Nice camera work!
Just like a movie director!
great video!
Havent been to Vermont since 1995 when we followed the Amerks during the Calder Cup

Alen King tried to start a Horsepower Fiel Day Hear in Delta County; Hope he has a wonderful success with it!
Aaah nice!! Now you can do an ad for Flex SealTape with your water barrel.
I'm so thankful Mr. Ken is back to working with Bill.
How's Mr. Barron doing and felling? I miss the "B"team.
Need a picture of the hay wagon the elevator with hay going up and the horses for a calendar picture. Jesus loves you both more than you will ever know.
You WILL have that, on the big jobs😮
TAKE US ALONG WHEN YOU REPAIR THE WAGON.......
Yes, I like to see it being built!
He will probably build a whole new bed, or maybe get another metal one???

@gregholl5011- your suggestion makes perfect sense !! Otherwise, put a post in front of the elevator, as suggested !! 😅😅

Another great video, things can go pear shaped awful quick hey?
Who is it that handles those kittens? They obviously like human companionship and wouldn't if they were feral. They are so cute.😊
have a great t wk end break away...( I think the horses love the main shaved off,and maybe a good amount of mosquito bites from the woods. 😂
Lindo fica quieto, confia no dono 😊😊😊😊😊😊❤
Jim, please give us your thoughts about trimming horse's mains; any recommendations? We value your opinion...😄😃😀👍🐴🐎🦄🦆🦜🥨🍟🥪🍰🍩🥞🧀🍔🍿
❤❤
They’ve backed that cart in so much they almost do it on their own
Jim,that old hay must have only straw use or road mulch. Around here I don’t know of a draft horse day to go to but maybe.
Jim's hay can't be that poor. His customers are paying good money for it .😊. Had to keep 60 bales on the second load to fill the order for hay .😊
When the horses have the side pass. Do they ever step on themselves. Those sharp shoes would do some damage. Especially to the coronet band.
That was a snake bit wagon load of hay.
did you take the little black and white kitty, that steals the scene, to Vermont?
Hey, Jim, random question. Why not teach your horses "just a step?" By and large you mostly don't have a lot of problems with them backing too much, or otherwise not being in a good position for you. That is what he taught little bit.
He is using careful step to start them.
Would be confusing.
💖
What a pretty neck line ken has
👍🏼
Interesting video as always--why is the mane clipped? Thank you
It keeps the hair out of the reins and other gear.
I hear your geese headed south
👍🏽👍🏽
Is baron going to be gelded at the vet after he’s collected
Is it possible for you guys to someday show us a map of where all your viewers are or at least an idea?
Fred I have read comments from viewers from around the world .Yes it is a small world .😊😊😊
Are they going to castrate Baron while he is there ?
I’m sure someone has asked this already. But where does William keep his horse during the day ? And why don’t we ever see it?
Tyler May I suggest Brenda's newsletter. Its free published every Tuesday morning at 6am . Where she finds time ,I do not know .Oh buy the way , Williams horse is kept in the big box stall behind where manure spreader is parked and his horses names are"Randy and Junior".😊
Jim y didn't you leave the broken wagon by the barn so you could fix it instead you put it out in the field
Jim you own a sawmill don't get angry just messing
I have never seen Jim angry. 😊
How come you don't show us your help name
Do you ever turn them out to wander on their own?
Yes .Called a pasture .Jim's electric fence , keeps all his critters (cows and ho 25:21 rses) home most of the time .Cows are at the neighbour's, always a stressful time .Cows are in the oats ,that shifted us kids off the couch from in front of the T V . Brenda, those kitties have a death wish
A little bit pregnant is another conundrum you hear sometimes.......
Hey....Horses get hair cuts?
