- There are simple things we each must do to protect ourselves from #COVID19, including 👐 washing with 🧼 & 💦 or alcohol-based rub. WHO is launching the #SafeHands Challenge to promote the power of clean 👐 to fight #coronavirus. Join the challenge & share your 👐 washing video!
I wash my hands with this way. It is very helpful for me! Thank you WHO!
Also don't forget to use that paper to open/unlock the bathroom door before leaving. Putting your now clean fingers right back on the lock or handle people touched when closing it undoes the cleaning you just did.
yes that's why it's good to put the trash bin besides the entrance door.
or leave that door open
or alternatively use the elbow to open the door i guess.
I carry kitchen paper to catch the tubes on public transport, I fold the paper on the dirty side and I can keep it in my back pocket, I practically get off without bacteria

Or better yet, design no-door bathrooms. They're great. (no, you can't see into them)
Tks for keeping the world educated about the Covid-19, ty to all professionals that are training medical staff all over the world under such inconvenient circumstances , we will overcome this
@WHO Thank you Dr Tedros. 🧼👏🏼✨
Your role in this PSA exemplifies your hands-on leadership & dedication to world health. As noted in each COVID-19 update meeting, we’re “All in this Together”. Indeed we are. Solidarity.
Me three
Great. Thanks for the initiative.
Great! Thank you Director 🙌👏
Dont let tap water running while you rubbing your hand with soap.
Unfortunately most faucets are not yet designed for elbow use or with sensors. If you have to touch the faucet to turn it on/ off the method shown in the video is currently the safest.
How about we focus on the message than tiny errors ?!

yes, and maybe this may help (my fifty cent--is what we did with each heatwave), putting a bucket-bassin in sink, keeping water for plants, nature, or to clean floors :)
Happy birthday (late) to you! You were working very hard and being very selfless. Hugs.
Good for all to know! Thanks for sharing!! Be well!
A great useful challenge that i wish everybody do, including the normal people and celebrities, rather than 'Ice Pocket' & 'kiki' trash.
May God save us all 🙏
And Safe water !!!!!!!!
Thank you. For. That tip very nice admire you keep up the work.
Everyone should join this challenge to slow down spreading of the covid-19

If someone coughs around you - you're doomed. That's why mask is important.
@@flyandshy00 well, that's a giant lie.
who cares no
@@flyandshy00 Masks only belong for 1) Healthcare workers 2) Sick persons and 3) Immune compromised persons and others who are at high risk of illness due to age or other conditions. Right now because there are too many people buying masks who don't genuninely need them out of fear those who ACTUALLY objectively need them don't have them. Think of this: Do you want doctors and nurses and those working on making a vaccine to be without a mask? Well these people are in a shortage. If they die because of people using masks all the time when this isn't needed then who will develop the vaccines? Who will treat a relative or a friend or someone you love if the healthcare staff don't have what they need to protect themselves as they are saving lives?
Not all coughs will 'doom' you in reality. People can have seasonal allergies, acid reflux or many non-contagious reasons for coughing. During this time of the pandemic and in general though of course it is smart to avoid closely crowded areas where there has been COVID 19 outbreaks and to be observant of those around you and to notice if someone is coughing and keep a safe distance!
Washing hands _freqently_ saved me, who has CVID/Primary Immunodeficiency; from contracting norovirus when an outbreak occurred at a retirement home worked at yrs ago- 98% of staff contracted the virus otherwise.
woah :-O thanks for your input it's very encouraging !!! ✨🙌 magic hands 🙌👍😼we can do it 💪
@G.k Rajput definitely have not been frequently hand washing nor sanitizing since March 2020 due to cracked/chafed hands from washing so often (also dont work in care setting since 2015 anymore). Have not caught it at all. Avoiding using hands for high frequency points of touch & abstaining from touching face while out & about has been enough to avoid catching the cov!d throughout entire pandem!c.
@G.k Rajput just rinse with water before eating, sometimes a spritz of cleaning vinegar too if it's something like an apple eaten with skin on. Never cleaned groceries when arriving home.
@G.k Rajput Canada, where are you?
@G.k Rajput they deleted my comment, I hope you got to read it
Best way to avoid COVID-19, once again, thanks WHO.
Thank you very much for the information, now it is time to apply

Already in this challenge , up to it
GOOD AFTERNOON! THANK YOU VERY MUCH...
Helpful video for caregivers and carers.
Thanks a lot
Question, do we need to keep the water running for no reason while soaping our hands as shown? I wash my hands very similar but NEVER I leave the water tap open while soaping! Only 1 second at the beginning to wet my hands and at the end to rinse them.
According to the CDC, "Turning off the faucet after wetting hands saves water, and there are few data to prove whether significant numbers of germs are transferred between hands and the faucet."
@@zacharycook869 Zachary: Unless you are certain you have adequately sanitized the faucet head (and there are studies about how long the COVID 19, as well as other viruses, bacteria and fungi live on surfaces and moisture increases risk in general) by shutting off the water right away you defeatthe purpose of washing your hands.
Yeah later drought then how ah?
Kindly save water while washing ur hand

For people like you, the shampoo comes with instructions.
hands during the process
open (infected)
rinsed (semi-clean)
close (semi-infected)
lathering (clean)
open (low infection)
wash (bacteria separation)
now the last obligatory
close permanently (low infection) now you can use a cloth or paper
attention, requires 50 IQs to understand the process. Learn better, I will not answer you.
Thank you sir for such informative video but keep the tap open is ridiculous, didn't expect this from WHO.
Yes unaceptable
Right..... Big wastage of water
Accepted ✌
Meanwhile TikTok users are doing "Coronavirus Challenge" by licking toilets.
Don't do it.
E coli
Is that a jojo reference
Thanks Sir😊
How do you obtain the tissue without touching stuff?
Wont getting the tissue be just as bad as turning off the tap?
Is it important to spend 2 or 3 gallons of water?
Thanks for sharing and God bless
SEHR GOOD HERO
I agree with you Dr.
Very useful
This is overall excellent. Might I add a couple of additional suggestions for an updated video: 1) Show the person also scrubbing around each fingernail with the opposite hand and then switch hands 2) Use the paper towel or a paper tissue or something OTHER than your hand to open the door or you have 'defeated the purpose' of washing your hands if you touch the door or doorknob that everyone else has been touching!
PS: Also, as you are scrubbing the soap off of yourself mention to point the fingers downward so that you are physically brushing off anything that might remain on your hands for added effectiveness. (Growing up my mom had worked as a nurse in an Army Hospital in Corpus Christi Texas and she always made us wash our hands after we played with our cat or dog because they can transmit diseases. She also gave us individually wrapped 'sanitizing wipes' whenever we would be going out on trips in our family station wagon. that we would use to clean our hands before we ate in case there wasn't a bathroom nearby. At the time these were called "Wash and Dries!' I always have carried "Wet Ones' individual wraps beside my driver door but now it's impossible to get any because some people have taken more than they need out of fear or desire to make a profit. Fotunately, tonight I was at a store and I mentioned to a woman there hasn't been any hand sanitizer on the shelf for weeks. She got in one case of it and opened it just for me. I took one because I am over 60 and have health issues. The lady said the latst person took all 15. It is important to leave some for those persons who are at higher risk of COVID 19, especially thiink of healthcare workers, grocery store checkers, and anyone who is serving a lot of people to keep supplies coming who has contact with a lot of people. Think of moms who have kids with zero immunity, and adults who have immune system issues. Thinkj of the community and take only what you genuinely need.
Do not leave the tap on. Do not waste water. This is WHO. Imagine rest of the world 🤦🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🙄
Unfortunately most faucets are not yet designed for elbow use or with sensors. If you have to touch the faucet to turn it on/ off the method shown in the video is currently the safest.

Thanks for a great advice
But pls kindly save the water
there should be 13 billion people watching this.. not a drop in the bucket 13,000.
everybody person must follow it's method,,
thank u so much hug
Ok for nepal😊😊
Thank you our king
O God save us....😭
Thats good 5-7 steps of hand wash, But not frequently of wasting water.
thank you
For a good a solid minute he was just wasting water, letting the water run.
This video is mercifully for the benefit of those who never made it past 6 years old, cognitively. Those who need someone in an authority position to remind them to wash their hands after they wipe their poopy butt or go pee-pee and many whose parents never taught them basic personal hygeine. (Sorry all you 6 year olds, at least you DO have an excuse)!
P.S. These folks must be the same ones who choose not to obey the basic traffic law which requires a driver to come to a COMPLETE stop at the STOP sign- it even tells you what to do, in huge letters, viz, STOP! A toughie for many to perform, yes, but it's in every Drivers' Handbook.
Thank's
What happens to the Liquid dispenser bottle, which is everyone touching with uncleaned hand to take soap or sanitizer liquid?
As long as you clean your hands after you touch it you will be fine. Think for a second, do you wash the bar of soap in your shower before using it?
Thanks
Let's make this viral on TikTok
Good night thanks doctor

I have round tap so how I will open
Interested to work with WHO
I started washing my hands before it was trending
Save water sir🤘
the video was truly influential and effective, but the negative thing is that WHO also works against the wastage of water and unfortunately, here it follows the wasting of water.
What if your towel is infected
Thing is for whom and why Challenge I never see the outcomes of challenges, this tasks will remain in Tiktok.
The last step was the most important, of using the towel to shut the water off. Otherwise, you would just get re-contaminated after all the hand washing.
And to open the door to get out.
The water wasted while you wash your hands...
@Clarissa 1986 Clean, potable water flows through the pipeline and mixes with sewage from bathrooms and the city at large. This water has to be chemically treated to decrease its polluting load and in the end be deposited in a body of water, being contaminated (to a lesser extent). This can be purified by nature but the demand for water is greater than the natural purification time or natural attenuation. So take care of the water, nature also needs it.
yes, and maybe this may help (my fifty cent--is what we did with each heatwave), putting a bucket-bassin in sink, keeping water for plants, nature, or to clean floors :)
Don’t waste water atleast during washing your hands
Thank
Also, be mindful of rings that may harbor germs/viruses underneath.

you should turn the tap off during rubbing your hands.... "Wastage of something is done by devil's brother" stated in Islam. Thanks.
Water's = Life For All
random but who else saw the shortened version on tiktok?
Close the tap :)
Thank you Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus
And when he lift the bathroom he touched the door handle and got the virus
Who touches door handles in public places? Like are you serious? That's beyond disgusting
What do you think the way MP Boris Johnson England act on the life of people on coronavirus? Which do not have any intention to help people but you have to help yourself to fight on your own alone at home without any medication for the virus. The helpline is out so you cannot ever call for help .How can you survive with severe respiration from the virus?
are you google people not yet aware that u tube does not work with google chrome??
AHO!

It’s sad to see that Water is being wasted, I request advertising/ media firms to use touch less sensor based taps and not running tap. We have to condition the viewers to avoid wasting water while ensuring safety.
Dilema: Do we save water or correctly wash our hands? ;-)
wash the tap first ajajaj
challenge?
Good. But also start safe toilet challenge to educate people. Seriously.
Espero el desperdicio de agua no sea parte de las instrucciones!
Now, if only they would do a video of "How to Exit Restroom AFTER I Wash/Disinfect My Hands". Who is going to open the door? You will need to open a door handle, which is known to be handled by persons who do not wash their hands. And?
Use a piece of paper you idiot
Wish he could save little water by closing water tab completely while washing hands..
yes, and maybe this may help (my fifty cent--is what we did with each heatwave), putting a bucket-bassin in sink, keeping water for plants, nature, or to clean floors :)
Bro, I need do a video like this for a fucking homework
I think I understand this virus a bit more
many viruses work the same way, now it only remains to get used to the new habits
Tedros beschder Mann.
So, what you are telling me is, licking my finger like Mike Bloomberg is not an effective way to clean my hands. :)
Please turn off the faucet while lathering.
Well that settles it... I’ve definitely have shaken a lot of people’s hands while still having jizz on mine
