Look, the man has done it all. He was the best guitarist in the best rock band ; he assembled and led one of the best rock bands; he reunited with the best line up of the best rock band. What else you want from him? Don't you think, that after all this years, playing hard rock, he may have gotten a bit tired of it?Give him a break. He is almost 70 years old. Now he has this delightful woman for a wife, with whom he shares interests and evidently he's happy. And he's still good at what he does
WELL HELLO MR BLACKMORE & MRS BLACKMORE !!! AS SOMEONE WHOS AS OLD AS YOU !!! YOUVE HAD A VERY MUSICAL LIFR WITH THE BANDS YOU STARTED & WERE IN !!! I WILL ALWAYS LISTEN TO YOUR MUSIC ??? ENJOY & GODBLESS THE 2 OF YOU ??? THX
I am getting such an overwhelming feeling of warmth from this interview, something I have felt before in a different time and place, coming from Ritchie. A euphoric energy.
I've followed Blackmore and his music since Deep Purple Mark 2 and he has never seemed so human and happy as he is now. Blackmores Night is awesome and I hope they continue for a long time. I'm an old school metalhead but I admire him for branching out into something fresh and original. Candice should appreciate the fact that he bans new SHIT music around the house.
I really like these people. Ritchie and Candice; they do not need to pay any attention of whatever other people stupid judgments. They are just content with what they are doing and they live. And it Seem like they are loving each other… Let them play!
Haha for sure..the Yoko Ono one spilled my damn drink all over the keyboard. FU Ritchie (best hard rock guitarist in the world but can't handle you'r booze).
what a great musician and a sense of humour too. I know that a lot of people he left behind in the "rick and roll" scene are sad and sometimes angry at the path Ritchie has taken. (even his ex band members and friends) I argue that Ritchie has never left the path he is on at the moment. He is playing music that has substance and relevance We are lucky to still have this musician going around One of my all time favourite musicians and composers. cheers Down Under Greek
Ritchie, twenty years ago, found the love of his life. Found the music he enjoys writing and playing. Found peace within himself. He is a very happy man. He proved what he had to for 35 years. So just let him enjoy his life. I think Ritchie found what bono and u2 were looking for. Happiness.
Music is such an amazing thing. It has so many different sounds, and reaches so many people in different ways. I think it is fantastic that Ritchie Blackmore is doing this and finding it meaningful.
Its good to know that people love Ritchie for everything he did and does, not only for "smoke on the water", Isn't it funny that Ritchie is extremely talented at guitar but will always be remembered for the easiest riff of all time? Good for him!!!
Ritchie has amazing talent. Everything he's been involved in,has been a success,Deep Purple,Rainbow & now Blackmore's Night.people often put him down, but look at his track record.
💯. No question he is an extraordinary talent. But he has played with the very best too regardless of genre. Dio, gillan, jon lord coverdale, cozy powell, graham bonett and now candice just to name a few.
I saw them play in an ancient Roman theatre. About 2k people weren't prepared to hear this and voices 'Purple', 'Rainbow' rose above her vocals ... She stopped singing and asked 'you want r' n r'? The crowd was agitated 'yeaaaaa'. Richie plugged in the electric guitar and pulled 'Black Night', with the most incredible solo I've ever seen. He was rolling on the stage, yet the sound was as good as in studio, unbelievable control. The crowd went mad! Then in the middle of his solo, he stopped, and left. Never came back to that stage and that ecstatic crowd to finish his solo, let alone the song.
Both are so talented! I actually like what Richie is doing these days. Hard'n'Heavy hit a dead end just because it has its own limits. This kind of music sounds fresh and timeless and not boring at all.
Hats off to Blackmore's night. I'm a huge fan of the Blackmore Dio collaboration, from their rainbow days but as much success as Dio had in black sabbath, I thought he hit a plateau in his solo band after his first couple of albums. Blackmore on the other hand is doing something really fresh and original and it's incredible how extraordinary Blackmore's night music is. Ritchie is not just a lead guitarist. He is a musician par extraordinare...
I love this music and good on Ritchie for playing the music he likes if people want to hear his rock music they can listen to deep purple but do not dis the man because he wants to play music he likes so much
There shall never be a couple as strong as Mr. Jon Lord . And Ritchie Blackmore. May Jon Lord find that piece of music he was hoping to hear. All my thoughts and prayers. To You. Mr. Jon Lord.
If you listen to what Ritchie plays, (not the solos, the accompaniment), it is very complex and complicated. I personally think he is playing the best guitar of his career, and I have been following his career since 1968. He plays with style, feelings and has an unbeatable, incredible technique - very rare combination. As Glover once said in a recent interview, he thinks that Ritchie is one of the best guitarist in the world - plain and simple.
Music is just that, it's music. It's not a genre or a cliché but a natural connection between the person and the personality of the sound waves. I love all the traditional instruments they use mixed with the modern instruments. Awesome!
Achubycat1. nice to know young people like this music. i am very sensitive so i am careful who i talk about this music to. i share with others who like it.
If you were to put the musical piece they're playing from around 6:05 through great big dirty Marshall amps... you've "basically" got what Purple were doing in their stage improvisations when they were in their prime.
That's right Ritchie we have been saturated with guitars and guitar based music. People need to think outside the square. The new guitar wave happened years ago and its become like an over played hit single on the radio. I took up mandolin not so long ago and I absolutely love this instrument.
Ritchie Blackmore is a not a guitarist he is a musician. Not to say musicians don't evolve some do. But a musician evolves on a different level as Blackmore is. Ritchie is in tune with the vibration of the universe and thats why his audience is school age children to senior citizens. Not just metal heads. No matter what Blackmore era you love all of his fans know his music will stand the test of time. So keep on mind its Renaissance music for the moment.
Ritchie has no choice in liking to clean, especially when Ian comes by. Ritchie and Ian have the most clean and pristine place, located on this planet. Ritchie and Ian know just how utterly filthy the air and atmosphere in all realms of existence truly are. I love the set on stage, so magical and true to existence, as it should be. Makes me feel homesick.
Well said. I personally would like to hear him write more original stuff using these instruments. Take the genre someplace new rather than recreating traditional tempos and arrangements.
Wizzle, great comment! I realized after I made my comment last night, what the major difference between what Ritchie is doing and what the rest are doing: he is performing new material. The rest are sitting around waiting for their royalties checks to come in, or touring on 40-50 year old material. Ritchie is performing for a niche audience, but he is engaged in an artistic process the others are not. I rather like what he is doing now.
Great video. Really loved the Ritchie’s decontraction and humour all along the interview. A very special thanx for the Yoko Ono scoop ; ) Thank you for sharing Greetings from France. Jean_luc
Wow, she radiates warmth and positive energy, the exact counterpart he needed. Is he a sad person? Frustrated by life? Beaten by parents? Why is he like that? Anyone ever asked him (apart Gillan)?
My thoughts exactly. He's always been contrary, ol' Ritchie. Good on him - he's got nothing to prove to anyone. Still playing very well too... I'm sure he has a lot of fun with Candice - in many different ways... ;-)
Well, as long as we are both breathing. I know that there will be at least two people who appreciate and understand what Ritchie has always been, and will continue to be. A true musician and a true person. And the master of his craft.
No. Just a person who understands and enjoys the true heart and passion of a musician who has mastered his craft well above any other. Mr. Blackmore has proven, that above all, he truly cares for music and the love of his love.
Ritchie Blackmore will allways be my Hero... he will allways be the genius... He can do Purple, Rainbow or Blackmore's Night.... it doesn't matter for me... Tomorrow I will see them in concert here in Germany near Frankfurt.... Can't wait....I'm so excited :-)))))))))
About 05:46 - 05:51 I laughed. Ritchie got a weird sense of humour - or, he's a strange person overall. But that's one of the things (including his playing of course) that make me like him!
I have a bunch that Ritchie Blackmore is the Tim Burton of the music industry. They're both crazy (and crazy looking), but they have beautiful wives and make amazing things with their given talents. I love this.
I believe that a great many people annoyed and offended Ritchie Blackmore for decades. Many of them were moronic and perhaps some of them may have been misinformed about great guitarists and the so called Rock Star image?..but he never seemed to be keen on the typical comments from buggers in the music business, the audience, Rock journalists, musicians, and promoters that took him the wrong way. As a result, I believe he was spiteful and sarcastic towards them with a dark sense of humor. I feel that he could have been that way due to the fact that they just didn't know how to take him and he may have grown tired of their misunderstandings of his purpose in the music world. He knows deep in his heart that he was an innovator to the development of Rock music and has in recent times taken period music steps further. As a musician and long time fan..I would love to meet him and listen to any stories he would render. Of course...that is why we have vids on Y.T. to gain insight from artists as great as Ritchie Blackmore, but he is such an interesting person that 'd love to sit in front of a fireplace and listen to him discuss life in person.
What I like is to see such a well built couple. They both very artistic, he is legend and she harmonize him, chill him very well. I wish every man such a peaceminding woman. Otherwise men starts drinking.
I really like these people --- Ritchie and Candice ---they do not need to pay any attention of what other people stupid judgments ----they are just content with what they are doing and they live ---- and Seem Like they are Loving each other… Let Them Play !
Indeed Ritchie does love the music he is currently playing. Celtic, medieval, traditional English folk music was always a big element in Ritchie's playing. This is the ultimate ending to what Ritchie and Ronnie started when they formed Rainbow and wrote songs like Temple of the King, Sixteenth Century Greensleeves, Catch The Rainbow, Rainbow Eyes, etc... Look them up here on UA-cam and then tell me this isn't the type of music that has always inspired Ritchie Blackmore.
Ritchie has followed his heart and his soul and I have tremendous respect for him because of that. His musical abilities have soared. I love Purple and especially Rainbow, but I for one think that it is far more satisfying for musicians to grow. Ritchie was destined for this, Candice is also fabulous, and hey, they seem very happy!
I'm a metalhead, and proud of it! By the way, I'm 19 so I don't think the youths are all as you say. I really like metal and angry music, but sometimes I like to relax and listen to a soothing sound you create. You caught me with Darkness (2010 - Autumn Sky). By the way, I don't drink.
He's fucking besotted with her and who can blame him. He's always had good taste and sound judgment and she's made his life happier. Tough shit if you don't like it.
I have an "Organic instrument" she can play with all day and night....wondering in the woods, playing with my instrument, drinking wine, playing my instrument, lying on the blanket, playing my........you get the picture of nature...go Ritchie!!!
Ritchie is a genius with humor indeed. Not so predictable, he got influenced by gypsy way of living because of his mother. There you have not standard things, so that makes him e.g. an excellent guitar player.
Ritchies three best decisions: Learning the guitar. Choosing not to smoke. Marrying Candice. Why? The first gave him his life. The second one saved it. And the third made it happy.
I like Ritchie's comment about the metalheads and listeners. I enjoy in this music very much and if you listen closely you can hear some elements of Rainbow and Purple in it, not copy-paste elements but it still there. This may seem slow and sleepy to some metalheads but you have to read between the lines and it's not about the taste but recognising good music. :)

Any music he plays, he's still Ritchie Blackmore. He will always be a genius.
Gotto love his dry, sarcastic humour. He puts his jokes into serious speech and as listener your duty is to spot those diamonds out.
THX

Oh, I think she gets that!
Apart from all his skills in the realm of Music - he is really carismatic, sarcastic and good looking for his age too.
This is one of their best interviews ever!
I love watching this interview... I love this couple and the band. Ritchie and Candice look great together and they are funny.
Hey baaaaaby
I really like these people.
Ritchie and Candice; they do not need to pay any attention of whatever other people stupid judgments.
They are just content with what they are doing and they live.

Let them play!
Jewish women are incredibly attractive. Something about the way they smile, and Candice has nice teeth.
(Stop laughing...I'm serious).
@@euanelliott3613 “Nice teeth”
Ok
i mean he is a goof and she has daddy issues, they go hadn in hand
Ritchie's got a great sense of humor

Ah those two are actually really heartwarming! Love his humour
I am hard rocker but I also like this kind of good ole English music, and of course Ritchie Blackmore is my idol.
I have followed blackmore since 1968 and I will to the day I die
I wish Yoko would let Ritchie speak more during interviews.

i think what they do is amazing,i love their music and im so happy for both of them.

Omg.. He smiled for a few seconds.
Ritche , please come back and rock !!!!!

Ritchie has followed his heart and his soul and I have tremendous respect for him because of that. His musical abilities have soared. Ritchie tiene una esposa tan hermosa , aparte de tener una voz de encanto, que suerte
"...and you're watching and/or listening to 'Blackmores Night" on Metal Eye" ☻
He's fucking besotted with her and who can blame him.
He's always had good taste and sound judgment and she's made his life happier.
Tough shit if you don't like it.
He's very lucky to have her.
I have an "Organic instrument" she can play with all day and night....wondering in the woods, playing with my instrument, drinking wine, playing my instrument, lying on the blanket, playing my........you get the picture of nature...go Ritchie!!!
I am a fan of Purple Rainbow, and I love this stuff they bring little of bit of those past elements into something original or organic,
Brilliant Ritchie,as CN just admitted that she and YO have the same M/O. That really is how CN got into Renaissance music.
Holy shit, the yoko joke was great.Great timing,I didn't see it coming.People need a sense of humor
Ritchie is a genius with humor indeed. Not so predictable, he got influenced by gypsy way of living because of his mother. There you have not standard things, so that makes him e.g. an excellent guitar player.
Ritchies three best decisions:
Learning the guitar.
Choosing not to smoke.
Marrying Candice.
Why?
The first gave him his life.
The second one saved it.
And the third made it happy.
"I was here in 1976 - you were called Yugoslavia then..." :) Hilarious.
all i see is a master musician speaking about music and his project. You are projecting. :o)
Blackmore is playing at renaissance festivals as court jester, how fitting… 🙃
I love that little whistle she has when she speaks .....
I've always liked the shape of her teeth when she smiles.
Candice is really awesome
Believe it or not, Ritchie has got a great sense of humor.
Brilliant!
I like Ritchie's comment about the metalheads and listeners.
I enjoy in this music very much and if you listen closely you can hear some elements of Rainbow and Purple in it, not copy-paste elements but it still there.
