Hmmm, interesting. I just saw the smaller scale McFarlane MHA at a store, is that a recent thing? Plus I don't have much faith in Bandai America, unless they've improved since the last time I laid hands on them.
It seems to be a very recent thing. There hasn’t been any official “statement” on it, but the signs seem to be indicating that McFarlane is done with MHA. It’s also strange because there is still a new McFarlane MHA 2-pack preorder on Amazon that keeps getting pushed back, so I don’t know for sure what’s going on. But I suppose the Bandai America figures could be potential cheaper alternatives to the Amazing Yamaguchi figures for 1/12 MHA.
I hate that McFarlane is finally getting up to making more classic DC Characters for the last year or so, but are still tripling down on the lame NFT bs that makes me not want to pick up new DC Figures. That Hal and Arthur are pretty much perfect for my comic JL, but i cant stand the house of Todd's committment to nfts 🙄
Mirko is real cool and a great design, but it's worth mentioning that, like you say, they've skipped some that feel like they should be givens. Like, why haven't Revoltech or McFarlane, etc, done any Froppy figures yet? Mount Lady? (Granted, she might be kind of difficult to do her gimmick.)
Glad you covered the NECA Universal Monsters Frankenstein release, that's a contender for my favourite figure line currently. With all the shakeups in recent years with prices, budgeting and prioritising things, pretty much every line I collect has become a pick and choose situation, with a lot of second guessing on how much I really want a figure, and this is all coming from someone who's never attempted to be a completionist with any figure line. That being said, the NECA Universal Monsters line is like a warm blanket, one or two figures over a few months from a property that is near and dear, and the figures being as good as they are, that doubt that's trickled into my collecting of other lines never enters my head when it comes to those figures, and serves as a great reminder of how much I love this hobby.
I mean yeah, a digital version is included with a physical release, but McFarlane Toys are just trying to get people involved in their NFT gimmick and maybe spend $20 on virtual statues without a plastic piece. There really isn't a need to spend energy hating on it, it's 3 years too late and is going to fail because people already know that spending money on essentially nothing isn't going to work. AR models will never have the same effect as a physical item.

Agreed. They look swell and all... But at that price, I could buy many transforming Transformers, Star Wars figures, or whatever. As an avid Starscream fan trying to collect most merch of the Seeker .. It hurts to see these, want these, but know I'll never be able to afford these. Same reason why I haven't jumped into the Super7 Ultimates, barring the glittery Ghost Starscream I just couldn't pass on. They're simply too above budget.

The Fury Toys Sun Wukong looks great and even though I pre-ordered the the undamaged one I'm worried I'm missing out on not getting the battle damaged one. All the anthropomorphic figures being released by Maestro Union and Fury Toys this year are right up my ally thanks to growing up in the 80's and 90's
If I had a nickel for every action figure that transformed into a rock I had in the 80s I'd have like 15 cents, it's not a lot but it's weird that is happened more than once.
Also on the Revoltech My Hero front, if you havent been keeping up with the fandom and the show it may seem like Mirko is an odd choice especially if you stopped before you met her. But she is WILDLY popular in the fandom. Way more popular than most of the students in the show who I assume youre talking about when you talk about characters that were skipped over. I bet Mirko will be one of the best selling figures in the line.
The lack of Himiko Toga though, when Shiggy and Dabi have been revealed/released... I've just recently gotten her Nendoroid figure to satisfy my desire for some sort of representation. But I NEED a 1/12th, 6-inch figure with her blood sucking syringes. So it's not only class 1-A students, but most of the villains too, who require figures that ought to have at least been shown by now, instead of Mirko (she was ok in S6, but as an anime only.. I didn't connect with her, personally)
And of course on Friday night 4horseman dropped their retailer incentive Jacob Marley and mask of the red death repaints. Marley glows in the dark! I wish the 1st one did that. 😂

Threezero Mega Man looks good, but not that much better than Jada's, and I think the face isn't as good. I think Im done with McFarlane DC... He had the whole crazy price for the Psycho Pirate Specter line on his store. Then he didn't make enough of many of these recent figures so they sell out in hours, (Wonder Woman, all 3 of these DC Direct figs you just posted). The Kilowog and Kyle is $75!? Freaking no. And people justify it because Kyle is expensive on the ebay market -- that doesn't mean he gets to profit more off it as well, it just means make bigger production runs. These are not $30-$40 sculpts. (I really dont like the mid section articulation, it ruins the look, makes them seem cheap to me). And these 3 new DC Direct figures -- Batman's new face looks like a high school kid sculpted it, Aquaman is like stoned Matthew McCaughey put on a super fake blonde wig, and GL is in a diaper. These sculpts are $20 figure sculpts. And they still sold out in an our. So Id be mad if they weren't shitty overpriced figures -- but they are, so Im just going to skip and maybe be done with this. Unless he does like Wonder Twins or Metal Men, other weird figures, Im out. It started out okay, but I really wish someone else got the DC license, like maybe DC Direct became a thing again.
The McFarlane line is something for sure. They started off trying to avoid the classic looks and do random versions of characters from more modern stuff, with a dash of familiarity divided by elusive exclusives and about half the figures end up on clearance. So I cherry picked and stopped unless a cool one off came around (Azrael, Bane, Catman, Knightfall Batman, Zur-En-Arrh, Owlman, Classic Martian Manhunter, King Shark.. ect) and now I have a bin of Batmen I have no attachment to and after missing classic Wonder Woman, the classics are temping.... but I dunno, I'm sorta okay with my NECA/DC Direct/McFarlane mix. Sorta ironic how these classics are selling out so quick.

Mirko is crazy popular, she’s not in the anime tons but because she’s a badass, hot, rabbit chick there are a LOT of fans of hers. I wouldn’t be surprised if she sells as well as anyone else in the line.
I stopped watching My hero academia right around where you did, so I get it, but Mirko from what I can see on twitter is arguably one of the most popular characters in the series. It makes sense she is getting a figure before other characters from earlier seasons.
The monkey king figures are beautiful! Even if you don’t know the character, it would fit in any Planet of the Apes or Monsterverse or Mythic Legions or werewolf or something display. Digital figure is silly. But as long as there is a physical one and they are not charging extra. Yolopark! Go Robo!

And these 3 new DC Direct figures -- Batman's new face looks like a high school kid sculpted it, Aquaman is like stoned Matthew McCaughey put on a super fake blonde wig, and GL is in a diaper. These sculpts are $20 figure sculpts. And they still sold out in an our. So Id be mad if they weren't shitty overpriced figures -- but they are, so Im just going to skip and maybe be done with this. Unless he does like Wonder Twins or Metal Men, other weird figures, Im out.
It started out okay, but I really wish someone else got the DC license, like maybe DC Direct became a thing again.
The McFarlane line is something for sure. They started off trying to avoid the classic looks and do random versions of characters from more modern stuff, with a dash of familiarity divided by elusive exclusives and about half the figures end up on clearance. So I cherry picked and stopped unless a cool one off came around (Azrael, Bane, Catman, Knightfall Batman, Zur-En-Arrh, Owlman, Classic Martian Manhunter, King Shark.. ect) and now I have a bin of Batmen I have no attachment to and after missing classic Wonder Woman, the classics are temping.... but I dunno, I'm sorta okay with my NECA/DC Direct/McFarlane mix. Sorta ironic how these classics are selling out so quick.
Digital figures as a concept is completely baffling to me as well.

Ah man. I've loved the monkey king since i was a kid. A 70s Japanese series called "monkey" or monkey magic. I'm on the fence though coz I'm extremely happy with the nottaa toys wukong. I dont want to dethrone him

The mdlx mega is 40 bucks and will fit in with the Jada robot masters. The face looks so much better than Jada's. Win win either way

Mirko is crazy popular, she’s not in the anime tons but because she’s a badass, hot, rabbit chick there are a LOT of fans of hers. I wouldn’t be surprised if she sells as well as anyone else in the line.

I stopped watching My hero academia right around where you did, so I get it, but Mirko from what I can see on twitter is arguably one of the most popular characters in the series. It makes sense she is getting a figure before other characters from earlier seasons.

The monkey king figures are beautiful! Even if you don’t know the character, it would fit in any Planet of the Apes or Monsterverse or Mythic Legions or werewolf or something display.

Are the promotional shots for the Deadpool 80th anniversary re-issue new or are the same ones used when it was first released? I ask because the in in package shots show the assault rifle as silver and red when the promo shots have a black and red color scheme.
The ones I'm using here are from the new solicitations so I'm not sure.
