the lighthouse of Capo Ferrato. Surrounded by pristine lagoons, two steps from the granite Monte Ferru at 51 meters above sea level.
For almost a century, like a warrior on a lookout, he has overlooked immense cliffs that hide emerald bays from view. A magical, lonely and intense place, the wilderness relies on its silent guardian.
Here the only noises will be the sound of the waves and the song of the wind!
A road in southern Sardinia has always represented the main link between the Sarrabus region and Cagliari.
It can be reached in complete tranquillity by crossing the splendid Sardinian territory, from east to west in a Mediterranean setting, with wild colours and an intense aroma.
A tongue of 25 km of winding asphalt that winds along a canyon of a beauty that takes your breath away.
Today we want to travel in our favourite vehicle.
Crossing the old Roman bridge we start the path that going up takes us towards the centre of the canyon.
From above we see the Sarrabus mountains that surround the splendid route.
It is surprising how the power of the flowing water was able to furrow the hard granite of these mountains, creating the sinuous canyon on which the road rests.
After halfway, we move to the other side of the canyon. our road begins to climb, surrounded by vegetation, with wide curves that open up beautiful views over this part of the gorge.
A breathtaking road that also leads to the end of our journey.
A path that took us from the sea to the land. And at the end of our wanderings, we understand once again that we have been bewitched by this beautiful island.
