Kronos is typically honest with Percy in the books, mostly because he doesn't HAVE to lie. He's manipulative to a massive degree yes and is known as The Crooked One, but a complete liar??? No.
In the books, mortals can't look at gods' true forms without dying. Also, that Zeus won't meet Percy ever again because Lance Reddick, the Zeus actor, sadly passed away last year. He was the concierge in the John Wick movies. So, for any future season of Percy Jackson, they will have to re-cast for that Zeus role.
All respects to Lance, but I feel like they need to recast him. Zeus appears too many times to just sideline. Plus, gods can change form. so at least they can have a canon reason for him appearing different. very sad to see though
Just a bit of lore but Annabeth’s hat and Hades’s Helm of Darkness are not equal in terms of power level either. Annabeth’s hat simply allows her to become invisible while Hades’s helm allows the wearer to become pure darkness. If I remember correctly it also radiates an aura of fear making others more likely to look away from you rather than stare directly in your direction
Exactly!!! That's best seen in The Chalice of the Gods when Grover specifically tells Percy that it's not powerful enough to work on the Olympians, maybe making Percy uninteresting to them at best. Athena sees right through it as does Zeus' kitchen staff.
I love the Luke setup because not only can you sympathize with him more you can’t see his plight of why he is siding with his great grandfather. Also did you catch Sally moving on from Poseidon with the umbrella? Great mirroring of the first episode, and setup to Paul. I need season two announcement yesterday!!! 🤗🥰 Everyone did a good job but kudos go to the golden trio of Walker, Leah and Aryan for carrying this show on their backs and holding their own. And they are only going to get better as the years go on. Especially Leah, protect her at all costs. I can’t wait to see what they do next. 🤗
"Grandpa." that line freaking KILLED me lmao also yeah, gods bleed a golden blood called ichor and if a mortal looks upon a God's true form they'll be immediately incinerated also, the reason Luke's sword Backbiter is half gold half gray is because one side is celestial bronze, and the other half is mortal iron. It's both worlds fused together, but it's incredibly unstable, like two same ends of a magnet forced together. its an extremely volatile weapon
If Luke really believes that Kronos is his savior, he's in for a rude awakening. Didn't he hear what Kronos did to his own kids? That's why they're so messed up and that's why they exiled him.
I agree but I also think that on some level Luke knows or suspects but has just completely given up on the gods. He's in full "someone's gotta make them pay" mode or whatever. Something cool to note tho, he mentions Kronos' Golden Age which was like a paradise or utopia with no rules or laws or taxes etc etc and everything was good (from my limited knowledge and memory). So maybe he's choosing to look past or justify Kronos eating his kids ("he's the titan of time, he must've foreseen how terrible they would be!") and hoping that Kronos can bring that peace. Luke's complexity of "smart, tired mother of like 30 kids who just wants things to get better" and "the gods will burn even if everyone i care about including me does too" will always be one of my favorite things ever.
This episode got emotional for me Walker with his facial expressions and the serious tone he had when talking to the Gods. I loved his acting. I was getting emotional from his acting his delivery. I have high hopes for his future. 💙
Has anyone requested the Adam project to you guys yet? It’s a film with Ryan reynolds and the actor who plays Percy. It’s the kids first film and it’s really good if you guys haven’t seen it yet. Would love to see your reaction to the humor in it
I really like the way they were building up for the twist during the entire season. That conversation in the casino about his mom and the feedback on his relation with Hermes were essential to this revelation
Nice season finale. Mount Olympus is beautiful. Percy finally meets Poseidon. Lance Derrick plays Zeus, the actor's last performance before dying. Lance was a good actor! Rest in peace Lance🙏
I really like the reveal that Luke was the traitor all along. Plus, I love Poseidon and Percy meeting for the first time. And while Percy failed the quest, he DID save the world. Here's hoping we get a Season 2. I loved the 1st season.
But when Does a commet become a meteor ? When does a candle become a blaze ? When does a man become a monster ? When... Does a ripple become a tidal wave ? When does the reason become the blame ? When does a man become a monster ? (Chorus of the previous lyrics) Luke to the trio: Forgive me. Forgive me. Forgive me ! I'm just a man.
@@JabamiLain I do not think it is like that. It is more the same story it always is, a god fell in love with a human even knowing it might cause that mortal issues. Another god became jealous/felt betrayed (because Athena is petty and prideful as all hell) and since she could not punish the god because it is hard for gods to punish eachother especially when they are more powerful (Posedion is top 3) they choose to punish the mortal since it is easy and likely will hurt the god emotionally anyway
Yep, we see more of that in The Sea of Monsters and The Battle of the Labyrinth with Grover finally finding Pan with the help of Percy, Annabeth, Tyson, Rachel Elizabeth Dare and Nico di Angelo in the latter book. Grover's search is on hold during The Titan's Curse because he was sent to find more demigods instead, but Pan sends Grover a giant boar to help him and speaks directly to Grover.
19:11 and I personally think that’s fine! I had a really hard time letting go of Luke in the books myself as a kid. Can’t wait to see how they continue Luke’s story in season two! 19:31 EXACTLY! that’s why it was so hard for me to just hate Luke going forward. Not sure I ever hated him tbh. It was cruel, yet SUCH a good plot line, lol. Villain really is a strong word for Luke though. He’s just doing what Kronos has made him believe he’s doing. He’s just a kid too. They all are
