Some of these albums are in the Brilliant Adventures box set. So what does that mean?! Well, It means that these particular albums are from D.B's most experimental time period of 1992 - 2001. Here's what they say about the box: "BRILLIANT ADVENTURE (1992 - 2001) is an eleven CD box. The collection is named after the Koto led instrumental penultimate track from the ‘hours...’ album. The box set include newly remastered versions, with input from the original producers and collaborators, of some of Bowie’s most underrated and experimental material: BLACK TIE WHITE NOISE, THE BUDDHA OF SUBURBIA (available on vinyl for the first time in nearly 30 years), 1.OUTSIDE, EARTHLING and ‘hours…’ along with the expanded live album BBC RADIO THEATRE, LONDON, JUNE 27, 2000, the non-album / alternative version / B-sides and soundtrack music compilation RE:CALL 5 and the legendary previously unreleased TOY "

    3. Heroes

Nice list. I can’t remember if you included “black tie white noise”. That and “never let you down” would be D for me. I’m one who really likes “Pinups”- it’s down to earth sound and earthy production. It would be S for me, along with “Ziggy”, “scary monsters” “alladin sane” and “low”. Others down a bit. I also like “hours” but it would be A

I remember when you were ranking David Bowie albums and ,,Hunky Dory" was at 3rd or 4th place, it kinda fell down after some time as I see 🙂 but his discography is very great, hard to choose which ones are better than other ones 👍

I think I would have 3 tiers for DB:
    G for genius, then A and B.
Great ranking. I would have bumped Hunky Dory and Heroes up a level and the C level up to B and that's about it.

Great list, glad to see Scary monsters, Lodger and Next day getting some appreciation, agree with Blackstar being up there although not quite sure I would put in No. 1. Only disagreements: would swap Ziggy with Hunky Dory, and Earthling for would me would be last place! The album Tonight also for my money gets too much hate, Loving the alien and Blue Jean are great songs.

This is a solid list Larry. Bowie is a top fav artist of mine along with Zeppelin,The Stones,The Beatles and Elton John….. you don’t talk much about Elton John? His 70’s output is amazing.
Anyways, I agree with your entire Bowie tier list. However I am a big fan of Tonight and Never Let Me Down…..so those would be higher for me but I do understand fans not liking those two albums as much….they are very 80’s but I appreciate the positive vibe of them. I’ve even come to like Pin Ups! An album I didn’t like much when I first purchased it back in the 80’s.
I was lucky enough to see David three times live. In 83/87 and in 2004 on his last tour. All three shows in Toronto and all l three shows were incredible! Cheers

David Bowie was super talented Larry but a little outside the box for me,the only album of his I owned was Diamond Dogs,a great album and I love the line in Diamond Dogs, the elevator's broke so he slides down a rope which I thought was brilliant,he was one of the greats for sure. Bob
