Iw had it now for a month. It make difference that you use it at MAX LDAC bitrate 990kbs. Its easy to make out MP3 to LDAC. But the real star is USB connection. With UAPP you get full MQA decoding and even tho MQA is bit "gimmicky" but it truly sound extremely nice. The best portable iw had heard. I got also monoprice portable THX but this thing take the cake.
i've had the gryphon for about 8 months and it is a great device. I have limited space on my desk and have used it as my "desktop" setup with my HD6xx, Focal Radiance, DT 770 (80ohm) and all my iems (planar included). Your review was spot on!
The irony is its below the Signature and Diablo in hierarchy yet it looks the best with and comes with an OLED display to boot. I use my Gryphon for my IEMs and the Signature for my full sized planar cans.
@Sam Shaker The Signature sounds more effortless with higher loudness output. The Gryphon drives IEMs pretty well but the Signature is superior in driving full sized planar cans. I find the Signature sounds slightly warmer while the Gryphon is more neutral and has a more sparkling treble. I would go for the Gryphon if I'm using mainly IEMs.
Great review but seriously, using that background audio at 5:34 on a review for people who are into audio is just mean, lol. I kinda missed it transitioning in and I kept hunting for the static, I even changed my Bathy's off BT to DAC.
Thanks for that. I'm looking at buying the andromedas and we looking for a portable amp so this was perfect. Is there any other portable amp you would suggest? mainly to feed it off my PC or iPhone. Cheers
Not really a budget as long as it’s portable and I can run it off a usb c. I really don’t want to run multiple wires and mess with it. I like simple. Probably keep it $209-3k. Thanks
When I connect my Dan Clarks Aeon into the ifi Gryphon via 4.4 Balanced, I always get distortion. Whats going wrong. Also, is there any DAC / Amp better for those Headphones? Thanks
Really do appreciate the honest feedback, and thank you for taking the time to watch the review. I've been working hard trying to improve on those exact issues. This is a pretty old video. Please take a look at my newer stuff, and please let me know if you have any other constructive criticisms. Thanks again!
At home I have multiple Topping flagship units that I enjoy. At work, the Gryphon has been perfect. I love it.

Why did you put desktop in parenthesis? Stupid
can you connect your wireless headphone to it? or does it have to be wired?
How well does it pair with the 6xx?

Is there a significant differences between the signature and gryphon in terms of sound? can’t decide between the two.

@@artyboy1377 I'm using full sized planars so I'll go with signature thank you for the help.
@@samshakerMost welcome.. You'll love it!
Love the video. I want one
Hey, I currently have BTR5 2021 and does the gryphon sound 3x better than that,?
Notice you have ChiFi in the background. The Sivga SV023, I liked them but not the price
Hey thanks for the review!
compared to xduo XD05 pro how thos it compete ? ifi without eq settings is more linear ?
Thank you for a great review. I have a question; can I play Tidal lossless audio files from my MacBook Pro through the USB-C to the Gryphon?
Yes you can.
Hi and thanks for the review, it's very informative. Have you listened to the Chord Mojo 2, and if so which one do you prefer, sound wise?
Thanks for checking out the video! Unfortunately I haven't heard the Mojo 2 so I couldn't say. I've heard lots a great things about it though!

How to hook it up as only a bluetooth dac without the amp for my car speakers?
I have a pair of Shure SE846’s. Would the 3.5mm jack supply ample power to drive or do I need to go for the larger one?

Thanks for watching! Do you mind me asking your budget?

@@KA-zq3yp why not something tiny like a dongle? THX Onyx or AudioQuest Red.

For Sundara headphone would you prefer this or Diablo? I am not interested in BT. Will I miss Xbass and Xspace feature with Diablo?
This one is good for Sundara. Step up to Arya Stealth and the Diablo is a good portable choice.
will these power the shure se846 gen 2?
I can see you also have Moondrop Variarions. Do you think it pairs well with Gryphon? 4.4 works best with this IEM?
If you're still interested, I have the Gryphon + Dusk and changing from Single Ended to Balanced made a definite improvement. I recommend it.
What's the noise floor on this like for IEMs? Do you hear much hiss? I have the Anole VX and I'm hoping to find a good portable DAC+Amp to drive them.
Doesn’t look too portable..
