Since that lock is "push to release" it would be nice to have a C clip to put over it to prevent it from accidentally being release.

This was very helpful however, I hope I'm understanding this correctly...the "lock tab" is the larger tab is pressed inward?

Can you drill any holes and use it as a construction column along with some more of these in case for a room divider construction where drilling holes on the wall of a renting house aren't permitted?

I don't think you'd need to drill holes. We've used it to create temporary barriers in rooms, with a little patience you can get materials rather taught.

Is it possible to put a lock in those small holes so unauthorized person will not try to release the support?

I'm surprised and concerned! This thing supports only 132 lbs? I want to use several of them to eliminate squeaky floors in an older house by placing them in a large open crawl. Any ideas?
