I haven't work on a moped in 30 years these videos are helping with my son's restored Puch Maxi, he's working on the bike and I'm just watching and revisiting my childhood .. keep the videos coming and thank you again.
@@dandeangeli9860 Oh no! It is something that gets easier and easier with practice. The Motion Pro 10in tire spoon from treatland was a godsend since it is so smooth. You can also use straight dish soap on the rim instead of soapy water mix if that helps 🤞
long video but worth every minute of it thank you for explaining and the extra knowledge and the easy tricks to save the tube your a life saver i have subscribed thanks man
@@datlocoS197 aaah bummer, yeah some people have luck with the zip tie method. It is one of those things that you get better with practice - everything is a lesson, happy riding
this video needs more views ! i went through 2 tubes before i saw this video, i watched all the other ones where everyone would "fill" the tube up a bit and install , never worked for me kept pinching the tube when i went to install. i think the spoons i was using was grabbing too much of the rim ei then pinching the tube , tried your "taco" method and its been 2 days and still has air i have yet to install on the bike but im sure all will work out thank you! ps. installed on a dirt bike if that matters lol
Absolutely correct, but too easy of a tire and rim to showcase. Do a dirt bike tire; they are bearcats and will test your will even if you know what to do!
I will try this in the morning I’ve pinched 3 tubes in a row it’s a head ache I’ve got a rm125 new Michelin tires I will fold the tube up like a taco see if this helps
Very very good Travis. With a real stiff tyre....do you ever fit the tube in the tyre first with a tiny bit of air in it to give it its shape.....little as req. Also on first inflation.....I let the air out again fully.....bounce the wheel a bit to make sure the tube site right.
Exactly! Yeah I will stuff the tube around, inflate it a little bit, then deflate and the tire will hold it's shape. I've done the little bounce, extra soap, inflate/deflate cycles to get a stubborn bead to seat too.
I like to slighy inflate the tube after inserting it in with one side on rim,it seems harder to pinch with the spoons that way to me , especially with the baby powder, the spoon just kinda pushes it while sliding ovwr surface instead of fiction of spoon putting it between tip of spoon and lip of the rim,I like the ideal of putti g valve stem in first, dont know why i never done that, may try this method of folding it in thoughand hopefully just avoid touching tube at all with spoons, thanks for video

Fantastic. What a great explanation of how not to pinch the tube and why you should always use lube 😂.
Excellent Thank you.
It's been seven years, hope you got that wheel for your chair. Thanks for the tire tips.
Ha, forgot about that! Glad they were helpful, 7 years later still going strong!
Super helpful in depth explanation of why tubes get pinched thanks a bunch
Glad it was helpful!
@@TravisTutorial But I am still pinching my tubes! Argh. But I will keep trying

Best tyre fitting “how-to” iv seen. Thanks
Thank you!
Having the tires sit out in the sun for a few minutes help to remove and to install. Found that to be helpful. Nice video. Thanks.
Get a heat gun lol
@@commercialhvacposting4511 heat gun costs money, the sun is free lmao

Master class tutorial. Excellently explained.
Thank you - this was an excellently done video and explanation!

Very good, explaining video!
Thank you! I wondered why it kept not being fixed.

Now do it with a modern radial tire with rigid sidewalls.
If your wheel is meant to take a 275 tyre it's tempting to fit a 300 or 90/90 but these are much harder to get off.
