i am from Jhang, ,where memories of the past linger like gentle whispers, I once wandered the streets, mesmerized by the beauty of the homes that stood tall and proud. I couldn't fathom how anyone could leave behind such treasures forever. Among these streets, Sheikh Lahori held a special place in my heart, for it was here that I tried to envision the lives of those who were forced to depart. Through the passage of time, many houses still stand with names etched into their walls, a poignant reminder of the families that once dwelled within. I yearned to meet these resilient souls, to listen to their stories, and understand the pain that continues to reside within my own heart. Each time I pass these houses, I am compelled to halt, to pay my respects to the echoes of history that linger there. The partition of our beloved land in 1947 was undeniably a horrific event, leaving scars on the hearts of generations to come. But amid the darkness, there were rays of hope that shone through. My grandfather, the venerable Sultan Mahmood, emerged as a beacon of compassion and humanity. He extended his helping hand to our Hindu brethren, offering them shelter and guiding them to safety in the face of turmoil. Remarkably, my father's birth in June 1948 was perceived as a result of the whole-hearted prayers of the Hindu families my grandfather had assisted. Their faith and gratitude touched the heavens, and a new life emerged, a symbol of unity in a world once torn apart. In the tapestry of our family's history, my grandfather revealed an intriguing thread - that we were once Hindus, a testament to the interconnectedness of our diverse heritage. It is this rich tapestry that makes me ponder deeply, questioning why hate has woven its way into the human heart. The partition may have divided us, but it is essential to recognize the shared experiences, the intertwined destinies, and the shared pain. By embracing understanding and compassion, we can strive to dissolve the barriers of hatred that divide us, for only through unity can we heal the wounds of the past. I was very lucky to take my birth in this pious soil of Maghiana and inhaled my first breath with its Air.Many Saints like Sultan Bahu, Shah Jiwana, And world Renowned Scientists like Dr Abdul Salam, Dr Hargobind Khorana and professor Yash Paul, Sportsman like Aleem Dar have taken birth in the Soil District Jhang Which had layalpur and Sargodha and some of Muzaffargarh Area was also its parts.Lovers like Heer Syal and Ranjha had their Pastimes on the bank River Chanab. "VAG VAG VE CHANNAH DIYA PAANIYAA, TERE KANDAY UTTE ASHQA~N Neien MOUJA~N MAANIYAA. This was the Song , we used to sing during our childhood.I can appreciate my Janam Bhumi writing Volumes.But finish it here only. Very interesting. I was born in Makhoo, Distt Ferozepur in India in 1947 and migrated to Jhang in mohallah Budhe Wala in Hari Niwas building and studied in primary school in mohallah sheikh lahori which sardari lal sehgal has discussed in his talk.
Dear Pervaiz Sankhla ji, i am really glad to know that you lived in mohalla Budhe wala after partition. My house was at a distance not more than 100 meters from Sadak which parted my mohalla named as ' SHIVALE WALA ' mohalla. One of my distanced uncle used to live in your mohalla, His house was famous because of ' ECHO . sound which used to get emitted from bethak ( drawing room ) of the house. We used to go there very often just for amusement The primary school , which you have mentioned was on that road and at a distance of around 200 meters. from my house , The name of the school was M. Vocabulary fails me to express my gratitude on your Invitation to visit JHANG, my motherland for which I am always ready to go and Inhale Its pure and Pious Air. I under went a Major Surgical operation for the Resolution of the Chronic problem of lumbar canal Stenosis on 21st December 2021, and am still convalescing and it may take another few more weeks depending upon how my body responds as I am 86 yr old Person. We had very close, intimate and family relations with your parents and with the family of your uncle Lala Brij Lal Babbar, who was younger brother of your father. He had two sons and your father and none. You were born much long time after the marriage of your parents.I was around 6 yrs old when you were born and your birth was celebrated with great fanfare. As being very close to your family, I remember, my mother stayed in your house for a few days to take care of your mother.I used to visit your house several times with my mother on reciprocation basis and take you in my lap with a gingle (Chhankana) in my hand and played with you. You were a small handsome LAD. Your Timber shop was at a distance of 200 Mts from our shop on the same road opposite civil hospital Maghiana. Your family attended my marriage in 1962 which was celebrated in model town Rohtak.There is stock of sweet memories which I will talk to you later. I am not able to type with ease and get tired soon Therefore I finish it right now and leave the rest for an other time.

In jhang , lot of old Havelis, mandir, gurudawaras still existing in good condition. I hv lot of interest in history. I used to read , writings on those buildings, in urdu and in english. For example on one building! It is written!. jhinda ram khatyal, erected in 1891

My father died in 2006. Till thn he never forgot his birthplace jalandhar. There is no mohallah of this name jhg now. Near sheikh lahori, there is mohalla bhabhrana. In this a street called , bank wali gali. In this a writing in urdu is still existing on haveli.. that is Seth Bushan Das Bahukm Chand Sahib Sehgal 1936.

River Sutlej and river ravi don't meet each other. Ravi meets Chenab after trimu near Kabir wala. chenab moves forward after crossing Multan , at punjnad headworks Sutlej falls into Chenab .

i am from Jhang, ,where memories of the past linger like gentle whispers, I once wandered the streets, mesmerized by the beauty of the homes that stood tall and proud. I couldn't fathom how anyone could leave behind such treasures forever. Among these streets, Sheikh Lahori held a special place in my heart, for it was here that I tried to envision the lives of those who were forced to depart.
Through the passage of time, many houses still stand with names etched into their walls, a poignant reminder of the families that once dwelled within. I yearned to meet these resilient souls, to listen to their stories, and understand the pain that continues to reside within my own heart. Each time I pass these houses, I am compelled to halt, to pay my respects to the echoes of history that linger there.
The partition of our beloved land in 1947 was undeniably a horrific event, leaving scars on the hearts of generations to come. But amid the darkness, there were rays of hope that shone through. My grandfather, the venerable Sultan Mahmood, emerged as a beacon of compassion and humanity. He extended his helping hand to our Hindu brethren, offering them shelter and guiding them to safety in the face of turmoil.
Remarkably, my father's birth in June 1948 was perceived as a result of the whole-hearted prayers of the Hindu families my grandfather had assisted. Their faith and gratitude touched the heavens, and a new life emerged, a symbol of unity in a world once torn apart.
In the tapestry of our family's history, my grandfather revealed an intriguing thread - that we were once Hindus, a testament to the interconnectedness of our diverse heritage. It is this rich tapestry that makes me ponder deeply, questioning why hate has woven its way into the human heart.
The partition may have divided us, but it is essential to recognize the shared experiences, the intertwined destinies, and the shared pain. By embracing understanding and compassion, we can strive to dissolve the barriers of hatred that divide us, for only through unity can we heal the wounds of the past.

Very interesting. I was born in Makhoo, Distt Ferozepur in India in 1947 and migrated to Jhang in mohallah Budhe Wala in Hari Niwas building and studied in primary school in mohallah sheikh lahori which sardari lal sehgal has discussed in his talk.
Dear Pervaiz Sankhla ji, i am really glad to know that you lived in mohalla Budhe wala after partition. My house was at a distance not more than 100 meters from Sadak which parted my mohalla named as ' SHIVALE WALA ' mohalla. One of my distanced uncle used to live in your mohalla, His house was famous because of ' ECHO . sound which used to get emitted from bethak ( drawing room ) of the house. We used to go there very often just for amusement The primary school , which you have mentioned was on that road and at a distance of around 200 meters. from my house , The name of the school was M. The word"MUR " has meaning of AGAIN also apart from "Turn back ". Therefore when I say mur mur aya karo, it means come again and again also.

Jhang te mighiyana donve hi tha have heard alot from my Biji in a way that I have also lived there in those times. She had lived and talked alot about these places throughout her life. I would want to visit these places for her. Heer mai di kabr te bawa lal ji da mandir. Even my grandmother's maternal surname was Sehgal.

Mrtza ji, Yeh ishq nahi asaan, bas itna samajh lijiye ik aag ka dariya hai aur doob ke jaana hai. This urdu couplet ( Shair ) reflects truly my intense feelings of love for Jhang which is my land of birth. I always pray for the prosperity of it's people.

Vocabulary fails me to express my gratitude on your Invitation to visit JHANG, my motherland for which I am always ready to go and Inhale Its pure and Pious Air.
I under went a Major Surgical operation for the Resolution of the Chronic problem of lumbar canal Stenosis on 21st December 2021, and am still convalescing and it may take another few more weeks depending upon how my body responds as I am 86 yr old Person.
But I tell you that I am always ready to venture if it is visiting Jhang.

As your father had a business dealing in timber in Maghiana , my father Lala Nand Lal Babbar had also timber business in Maghiana dealing in timber from Kashmir . Again he started timber business in Rohtak where we finally settled at. We live in Model town Rohtak .

Dear Jawahar, what an amazing, astonishing and a pleasant surprise! We had very close, intimate and family relations with your parents and with the family of your uncle Lala Brij Lal Babbar, who was younger brother of your father. He had two sons and your father and none. You were born much long time after the marriage of your parents.I was around 6 yrs old when you were born and your birth was celebrated with great fanfare. As being very close to your family, I remember, my mother stayed in your house for a few days to take care of your mother.I used to visit your house several times with my mother on reciprocation basis and take you in my lap with a gingle (Chhankana) in my hand and played with you. You were a small handsome LAD. Your Timber shop was at a distance of 200 Mts from our shop on the same road opposite civil hospital Maghiana. Your family attended my marriage in 1962 which was celebrated in model town Rohtak.There is stock of sweet memories which I will talk to you later. I am not able to type with ease and get tired soon Therefore I finish it right now and leave the rest for an other time.

In jhang , lot of old Havelis, mandir, gurudawaras still existing in good condition. I hv lot of interest in history. I used to read , writings on those buildings, in urdu and in english. For example on one building! It is written!. jhinda ram khatyal, erected in 1891

We were living in Mohalla Shivaale wala and it near mohalla Shaikh lahori.There was an M.B Primary School near our house.

My father died in 2006. Till thn he never forgot his birthplace jalandhar. There is no mohallah of this name jhg now. Near sheikh lahori, there is mohalla bhabhrana. In this a street called , bank wali gali. In this a writing in urdu is still existing on haveli.. that is Seth Bushan Das Bahukm Chand Sahib Sehgal 1936.

My Nani and nana were from jhang. I have most beautiful memories of jhang during my childhood. Mohalla Chanbali market was in main Bazar where there house was. Yes you are right to a great extent, I stayed with family members who migrated from Rawalpindi after partition at kanpur for more than 6yrs.

Ilyas bhai, my jhangi accent has changed because i have been living in ludhiana where malvayyi accent of panjabi is spoken. Jhangi people living in haryana have been able to retain their original jhangi way of speaking.

I am from jhang maghiana. Near to our old house in bhabhrana mohallah, on one haveli. There ie written !. seith Bushan das bahukm sahib sehgal. 1936. This is still existing on that Haveli

River Sutlej and river ravi don't meet each other. Ravi meets Chenab after trimu near Kabir wala. chenab moves forward after crossing Multan , at punjnad headworks Sutlej falls into Chenab .

Hello I am from Jhang and the chowk where Vicky Hotel is 'Ayub Chowk'. This chowk is considered the center of Punjab as all the transport pass from here. The Mai Heer tomb is just near my home. I really enjoyed this episode. May you able to visit JHANG again and meet the people who want to meet you.
My visit to Jhang is doubtful because of Health and unfavorable political conditions.
