Sorry to disagree. Groin is included, though at times if your opponent happens to change his stance then a knee to the groin would be permissible. Repeated strikes to the groin depending on the referee; the attacker should be deducted one point from each of the judges. Continued violation of the rules of Muay Thai may end in a disqualification for the aggressor. On a number of occasions, I too have been kneed in the groin. Being young and stupid, I returned the favour and was immediately disqualified - WMC Rules. I was taught Muay Thai by monks at the age of 4 I recall my Teacher being strict but fair. My twin brother and I trained eight per day. Thanks for your reply hán.
@@theequasian3823 Yeah shots to the back are big scores, watch Scott's fight against Juan Cervantes there's a few elbows to the back of the head in that one to get 8 counts!

Surprising how many people in the comments don't know the rules yet comment haha
@@Luke-ii7qt Definitely agree, Luke97. Our camps students are first taught about the history and culture of Muay Thai, the Wai Kru and Ram Mua
I get the feeling Williams didn't know elbows would be allowed.
He complained about that 1st elbow and Stewart’s like, alright I’m throwing bows only till the fights over!
The rules of Muay Thai are quite clear when it comes to elbows - "No strikes to the back of the head or spine".
depends a bit on the country. In Thailand you can strike any part of the body besides the groin...

Think ref is watching a different fight, either that or he never learned that back of the head is a no go…
Not in muay thai its not, shots to the back of the body score well.
