Hello. I realized after I filmed ( and I don’t edit) that I may have insulted the cat people out there. I grew up with two cats. My entire childhood was spent with cats. My cats were extremely smart, affectionate and playful. I meant that cats are more self sufficient than dogs and cats typically are aloof and show less interest in people than dogs. However, it’s definitely how you raise them. You get what you give. Give affection and you’ll get affection. Spend time playing and they’ll want to play. Thank you for watching. 🐩 🐈‍⬛

My parents have old pugs who both have their own set of issues. One has pancreatitis, and my parents actually made a spreadsheet what meds she gets and when. The other, has nerve damage in his back legs and will poop and walk and not even know he's doing it, regardless if he's inside or outside... If he lives long enough, he's going to need doggy wheels. My girls aren't as old yet, so they don't have many issues, but they're staying with me. No matter what. We believe she might have contracted Covid at the groomers, her health deteriorated very quickly within 6 months, we had countless sleepless nights. ❤️ Our 2nd shih tzu (we’ve had her since she was 8 wks old) is now 15 yrs old. She got really sick months after we lost her older sister, she got seizures, diarrhea, & stopped eating. It was-is heartbreaking 😢 again we had sleepless nights- hubby stayed home from work for a week to take care of her. It’s been 3 yrs, we are fortunate to have retired last year so we can take care of her full time. We can relate to you. She has lost her sight & hearing. She is on permanent medication twice a day for syncope. Yes we can’t go on vacations or stay out too long but we made a commitment to take care of her. ❤️ We wouldn’t change it for the world ❤ Despite her challenges she’s living her best life! We also had a little Maltese until end of 2022, I had her from when she was 8 weeks old, she was 14 when I had to put her down because of dementia. So I can relate what you are saying how exhausting it is for the people who care for them. In case you have not heard of it, because I really did not know at the end whether she still had a decent quality of life and found that there is quality of life questionnaires that help you to determine the quality the animal still has, because in our case the dementia went on for years, so you do not realize how bad it gets as it develops gradually. Cami, such a great topic you brought tears to my eyes when you said that you ask God to spare you of the decision of having to make the choice of putting down when the time comes. We and our friends always say the animals who become Bean’s are extremely lucky and yes spoiled. We have had several pets live long lives for pets sometimes even longer than normal because of the care we give especially when they face heart failure or spinal issues etc. And we have multiple pets at our home. Our Min Pin who was coincidentally called CoCo Bean has been the only that we had to actually make the decision and follow through with Euthanizing. We had her since a puppy she lived to be about 14years and the last 2 years she had congested heart failure. We did as you did paid for all the test and the medication etc the Veterinarian was so so sweet with her and kind with us. But she became so ill. That the medication wasn’t working properly and she was having to go to and from visits 2 times a week. And she was showing signs of being in pain and there really was nothing they could do because upping pain meds or other meds might harm her. And that’s when I knew I finally asked the doctor point blank if she was your pet what would you do. I remember so clearly now almost 8 years ago he looking at coco because he was holding her at the time and said we had given he a great life and have exhausted all the medical care she could have and yes at this point as painful as it was emotionally she is in such pain that she can not get relief from that it was time. It was the hardest decision ever. And it was me myself and I that had to make it not my husband not my adult children me because it was such a hard and painful decision they couldn’t. So I made an appointment for the next day and said if she didn’t pass away in her own then we would do it. I wanted to give everyone and myself time to come by and say goodbye including our grandson who was extremely attached to her. Thankfully my husband took time off and we were both there the tenderness of the entire staff was outstanding so it was as easy as possible but still extremely difficult. On the other spectrum our Ginger Bean passed away unexpectedly this March here at home she collapsed and her heart just gave out from the same condition she was a Dachshund and my side kick I was the one who she stood at the door and howled for if I’m gone too long from the house. She sat at my feet when I recorded my videos looking back at both incidents I don’t know which is worse emotionally watching Ginger pass as her body gave out unexpectedly or watching making the impossible Decision to let CoCo go. But what I can say for my fur babies it was less painful physically for them as the veterinarian gave Coco her the treatment to pass than for Gin Gin to topple over from heart failure. As I write this tears stream down my eyes because I feel like I failed Ginger Bean because her heart gave out and I worry about the pain and the struggle she went through. I pray for you and your hubs that God does take her peacefully in her sleep. I don’t know if you ever had the chance but I did make a video of information about Cremation Services for your pets. We have had 6 beloved pets pass 2 cats and 4 dogs and we have all but 1 of their ashes in beautiful boxes and a picture of each of them next to it. Because even in death the Bean Animals are cherished. Our Leo is in our backyard because we did it know Cremation Services for animals existed. I’m glad you made this video so people can truly make an educated decision when taking on a let. FYI : and for the record our Cats 🐈 are just as attached as our dogs and have all the same feelings and emotions and Dogs. When we are gone they go around looking for us crying/meowing and when we get back they are mad at us then slowly forgive us and let us make up to them. Thanks for sharing and I will keep you and yours in prayer 🙏🛍️🚢👛🦆🐕‍🦺

I love animals too and it’s heartbreaking when you see people not treating them the way they deserve to be treated. I feel it’s a real blessing to be able to have a pet or pets. They give us so much joy, happiness and love that they deserve it in return. One of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make was when we had to put our cat Smokey to sleep eight years ago. It’s an unparalleled feeling.😢 We do it to be kind as we know they don’t deserve to suffer. That’s the most difficult thing of loving a pet is knowing one day they’ll be gone.😢
