Thanx for another gr8 shave Paul 💈👌 Hubby's got lots Prorasso products. All have lovely scents. Will ask him to check his variant for the uneven bit! Lovely flowers as per Mrs H. Enjoy the rest of your week both 💈👍🌺😊
I'm retired and loving it. I told my kids that I was spending their inheritance on shaving gear! Great shave, as always. Mrs. H. should start her own Florist Shop, she does great work!!
Hi Paul- Great mid-week shave; thank you! Wonderful flowers from Mrs H! On my end I really like the Proraso white- always enjoyable. Looking forward, as always, to the weekend shave. All the best!
LOLOLOL. You really do crack me up!! Great attitude! Very positive outlook on everything! That' what keeps me coming back. Also, always informative. Dig the way you tossed some of that Prorasso Sandalwood AS under your armpits for good measure! HAHA Keep it up, Paul! You're fantastic. As always, great flower arrangement by Mrs. H.! Hope you have a wonderful rest of the week!! Looking forward to the Sunday shave.
Fantastic shave Paul. Always a great start to my day off. Mrs H did a bang up job with her display, as always. Looking forward to the Sunday shave. Cheers 👍🏻💈
Very nice shave today. I have the Parker varient also. It’s my every day shaver. I pair it with the Gillette 7- oclock super platinum blades. Very nice comfortable shaves, it takes care of my thick course beard. Looking forward to seeing your Sunday shave.
I have a Parker variant that I bought about a year and a half ago. Shortly after buying it I noticed the head was slightly out of alignment, but it didn’t effect the shave so I didn’t worry about it. Over time the alignment issue got worse, now it is to the point that it does effect the shave, really too bad as it was one of my favourite razors.
Proraso sure makes good products. Also, the Parker Variant is a pretty good razor. I do find the Merkur Progress easier to use though, due to its light weight and smaller handle. Anyway, have a good remainder of your week, and happy shaving! 😀💈👍
Hello, Paul. I used a Parker Variant today on setting 3.5 with a Gillette Silver Blue and Sterling Soap Pharaohs Dreamsicle. Finished with alum, Thayers Super Hazel and B&M Reserve - Cool. Felt like a god afterward.
Proraso white is one of my dumb reach soap. I definitely enjoy their whole line from the pre-shave to the aftershave. Plus they’re all cheap as chips, well maybe not as cheap as Arko. Very nice shave with that adjustable.
Good evening Paul! I really like the colors of Mrs. H's floral arrangement...always well done. I have never tried Proraso soap...my den is full of vintage and artisan offerings. My face has led me to enjoy tallow bases; mainly for the slickness and post-shave feel. They just work best for me. PolSilver blades are sharp and smooth to me and reliably provide close and comfortable shave. My sole objection is their longevity...only 6 or 7 shaves. Honestly, they are good...very good. Speaking of razor blade longevity, the legendary 1974 Personna 74 Plus blade has gone 17 (4-pass) shaves now. Will it unseat the 1970 Gillette Platinum Plus blade that had 20 (4-pass) shaves? I will let you know if there is a new longevity champion in my house. You had a very nice looking shave Paul. You really can brighten my day with your folksy cheer and good humor. I thought your joke about the Royal Mail was good...but now I am wondering what is on this second floor? Thanks for sharing and take care.
Thank you for sharing the shave and Mrs H flowers. Simply amazing bouquet there. I have a thing for Proraso soaps, very reliable, never fail in protection and slickness.Didn't know your cat loved sandalwood scent... How did she get to pour some over her whiskers?... :)
Another great shave Paul. I have the Parker Variant in the gunmetal color, haven't noticed any misalignment of the head yet but will check. Proraso "red" was one of my first sets of soap and splash combos years ago. Still use it regularly as I like the performance first and the scent is very nice. What kind of sandalwood product did you put in the Humphrey's Witch Hazel? I put some sandalwood essential oil in my witch hazel and it made it cloudy, smells great though.. Magnificent burst of color from Mrs H today, thanks. Well done, nice video and commentary. Enjoy!
G'mornin my good man! Great shave my friend! I have just received a couple of new products from a company called Dapper Dan and I must say their products are fantastic , they are from the UK and really are great so if you're having a browse Paul on what to try next, give that a go, you won't be disappointed, I bought the shave cream and aftershave balm. They smell great too.
I have the same with my variant and the sides have a different agression now which is very annoying. I spoke to the shop I bought it from and they contacted parker. They said that Parker discovered that the material of the top cap is too soft, so the screwing bit will get bend over time. I didn’t have the issue at start but noticed after a few months it was getting worse. They are going to change the top cap material. I’m waiting for a relacement. I already posted this on the forums, maybe you can mention this in your next video because I see a lot of comments here of people having the same issue. This should be fixed, it’s not a cheap razor so it should be working well and giving reliable shaves. Have a nice week!
Hi Paul. Just got my Variant yesterday, and it's the same with mine. Just a tiny bit off. You should review the supply singel razor V2 if you can. Love your videos.
Great shave mate! I own a mountain of artisan soaps but Proraso is still a favorite of mine. It just works so well. As for the Variant's blade capture, I have mentioned on posts ..maybe on yours as well at some stage as well..that the pressure that captures the blade is uneven across the length of the head is uneven which puts a bow or a smile on the blade . It's bad enough in my case that it detracts from the shave quality and makes the razor 'nicky'. I guess you could say the pressure on the blade is greater in the middle and is less the further from center. it is higher at both ends, not just one end. I keep it as a curio these days LOL.
I never noticed a problem with my Variant. However, the QShave (or Ming Shi) adjustable commonly ships with the baseplate assembled 180 degrees reversed, and so it exhibits a problem similar to what you've described. I wonder whether there is a resource online indicating how to disassemble the Variant and reverse the baseplate? Or you can send it to me and be done with it forever! ;-)
Keep up the great work/vids. Wish could get half the quality of shave you get 😪😪. Been using on your advice as a starter razor Ej89 for abt 6/7 mths...tried about every blade going, changed my angle of the dangle but always looks s..t to be perfectly honest.. Maybe time to venture to a new razor? Any help or tips be much appreciated.. Also tried all your tips etc nothing .. WEIRDLY MY MACH3 A BETTER/SMOOTHER SHAVE... Maybe proper shaving not for me?
Hi Steve, it could well be a time thing, even though you have been shaving this way 6/7 months, your skin is used to the Mach 3 maybe, have you tried adding shaving oil before each lather application?.....it could help the comfort levels, also you could get a adjustable razor, (Parker Variant) something like that....hope this helps in some way Steve.....Paul.
@@PaulHFilms appreciate your reply/tips... Maybe santa might bring me a Parker variant lol. Is there an ideal stated setting?. Had karve christopher Bradley mentioned too
Once you've got chance to try the Mergress, this 'finetuned' Progress is just another step up. Agree the Variant a fine razor, but little rough corners, especially the bottom part. For that price a more than good bargain though. The Mergress has it all, the prices as well...
I’m finally getting a Parker Varient!! For $10!! It’s one of the original ones with the black handle that had the paint problems. Do I care? Hell no !!! The razor works perfectly so that’s all that matters
hi Paul..i have the Variant and my razor is exactly the same on the left hand side....as you said it doesn't affect anything...it's one of those situations once you have seen it you know it's there...does your head in lool...all the very best....Mark
On my Parker Variant I noticed the blade gap is slightly different on one side. sort of slanted I guess. And the overhang on the notch side is greater than on the smooth side. Still shaves great anyway.
Good shave Paul...flowers super color's Mrs H👍..call it fate I was just about to pull the trigger on the Parker variant when I played this video...looking for a stable mate for my progress...I now will divert my allowance to a more worthy companion for my progress..shame....I was looking to breed them...lol...can't pass up the sandlewood...great stuff. ..On my third helping......please give us the skinny on the Parker ...normal or bad quality controll......I'm sure Parker is listening...and will be contacting you with answers ..please share... Till then....keep you blades sharp. And your razor in the ready....winter is comming...and the litter box is full Cheers!🇬🇧🇺🇸🐈🐈🐈💈🌶🌶🌶🍺🍺🍺👍
"OVER DOING IT TIME...BABY!". Eh, stick with the original Paul. Great shave and I'm not even going to bother looking at my Parker Variant, it shaves beautifully and I'm pretty happy with it, have a great day Paul!
I get some products sent to me by the makers, any products I buy, I tend to wait and do a good order to warrant the shipping costs, Yaki ship to the UK ...thanks Petru
love the feel of the Parker Variant but unfortunately like many others (including you) mine isn't flush. Since I noticed, my ocd can't deal with it and it's left my rotation. disappointed, given it looks and feels so good in the hand. great audio feedback too.
I have both the progress and a future and my progress is fine but the future has the same issue as yours. Shaves good but always drives me crazy knowing there is that difference from one side to the other. Knowing you have three futures you may want to check them also.
Hi mate. I’m brand new to all of this safety razor community and I have a question. My grandma just gave me my grandads “personna” razor and I was wondering if you know anything about the company?
You must have a neck of steel. If I went back and forth like that for pick up time, my neck would like miniature volcanoes erupted. Red lava would ooze out and spread across the landscape and miniature cones would develop.
Got one...started on 3 regretted that..went down to 1...getting used to it ...going to go back up bib by bit...great razor..love the blade feedback.

Beautiful flowers as usual and great choice of brushes, MrsH! Nice shave, Paul
Great shave as always Paul. I;m a huge fan of the scent of Proraso Red!

Fantastic shave Paul. Always a great start to my day off. Mrs H did a bang up job with her display, as always. Looking forward to the Sunday shave. Cheers 👍🏻💈
Nice shave, Paul! I believe Proraso was the very first soap I purchased when I started wet shaving several years ago
Very nice shave today. I have the Parker varient also. It’s my every day shaver. I pair it with the Gillette 7- oclock super platinum blades. Very nice comfortable shaves, it takes care of my thick course beard. Looking forward to seeing your Sunday shave.
Great razor the parker variant Paul, I think a lot of people seem to prefer the parker over the progress... All the best Mark.
That is a shame, will see if mine gets worse over time.
Wonderfull Flowers. Greetings to Mrs. H! nice Sandelwood Shave

Great info mate...thanks heaps. I'll get up 'em about it.
Great shave. Parker Variant is the next razor I buy.
My 1st Variant was off, the top cap post wasn't straight and pulled it off center when tightened. They replaced it with a perfect one free of charge 😊
Love the flowers Paul .
Another great video! Thanks Paul! Just question: can you do a shaving video with the old school soap- carbolic soap? Cheers
Hi Paul.
Just got my Variant yesterday, and it's the same with mine. Just a tiny bit off.
You should review the supply singel razor V2 if you can. Love your videos.
Will be using the Supply razor on Wedneday Daniel thanks, I'm looking forward to it :-)

Mark O'Cain contact the place where you bought it, or Parker directly if that’s not possible. See my reply in here or on the facebook group.

Great shave Paul, looking good
Great Wednesday shave Paul and happy asthami today is the durga puja 8th day and I will check my variant
Nice shave Paul. Thanks
does the skin get more resilient after years of shaving??
Mine is kinda sensitive, I always get razor burns with three passes!
Keep up the great work/vids.
Wish could get half the quality of shave you get 😪😪.

Is the Parker Variant on Level 5 more aggressive than the Muhle R41?

How many different types of razors do you have in your den 200 or 6 witch is it Paul?
Something around 20-30 razors
I haven't any Parker razors, perhaps I should give in and buy a Variant. Nice shave!
Got to go with some Fine L'Orange Noir for your next shave Paul....
"OVER DOING IT TIME...BABY!". Eh, stick with the original Paul. Great shave and I'm not even going to bother looking at my Parker Variant, it shaves beautifully and I'm pretty happy with it, have a great day Paul!
Very enjoyable as always, Paul. Second floor, you say?😂
Does that mean that glasses help one to see !!??:-) Great show as always looking to buy that brush 🥀👍
Beautiful as usual arrangement and choice of Brush, MrsH. I love my Rainbow Pride Brush.
Hi
How come you have so many USA products?
How to get the witch hazel snd the yaki brushes?
Thanks
Petru B. Use ebay app and AliExpress app.
I get some products sent to me by the makers, any products I buy, I tend to wait and do a good order to warrant the shipping costs, Yaki ship to the UK ...thanks Petru
nice shave great video as always lo, i found it funny your joke
In ur witch hazel you said you added Sandlewood... Sandlewood what? Essential oils or?
Essential oil yes Mike, about ten drops.
Great idea Paul!!! 😁 💡

No children Mike.

The Proraso product line performs well to me but I am not impressed with the scent of their sandalwood.... not really sandalwood to me at all.
