OLIVIA - THE WHISPERS PREVIEW

Las Vegas, Nevada, United States, June 21, 2023 - The Whispers continue to press on with the goal of re-recording their celebrated catalog of music. June 30, 2023 marks the release of their fourth catalog single “OLIVIA (Whispers’ Version).” This is a snippett, go to the website to down load it. They embarked on this independent journey after a myriad of disappointments with traditional record companies acquiring ownership of the masters on most of their hits. In most cases, the record company owns the copyright to the “sound recording,” and the writer owns the copyright to the lyrics and compositions. The Artist has no control, receiving a very small percentage of the song’s proceeds from film, television, videos, commercials, and other platforms.
Their first release “And the Beat Goes On (Whispers’ Radio and dance versions),” dropped in September, 2022, followed by “Rock Steady (Whispers’ Radio and dance versions) in December. They opened 2023 with the release of “Keep On Loving Me (Whispers’ Version) on March 24th. The Tag “Whispers’ Version” is included on each title so fans can distinguish their versions from those owned by the record labels. They will continue to re-record as long as they’re still in possession of their powerful silky voices.
All of the re-recordings have been produced by longtime Producer Magic Mendez who magically arranges, engineers and mixes with excellent precision. Their inspiration comes from artists such as Taylor Swift and Kelly Clarkson who recently brought the re-recording issue to the forefront, and Anita Baker’s struggles to acquire ownership of her masters. The Whispers’ goal is to own the sound recordings, also known as “masters” of their life’s work.
