Re-Springing a Gamo Big Cat/Hunter 440AS

A bit of maintenance on the Gamo Big Cat, the spring was creating too much recoil, so we disassembled the rifle to fit a new (original) spring.

Very awesome so now I see a spring vice isn't really needed even though I'm sure it makes things easier.

It is a bit easier with a vice or clamp of some kind. The springs on these are not under too much tension, so fairly easy to do without one.
