- G'day guys, today we are reacting to Chris Rea with The Road To Hell. This has been suggested, quite a few times. This was great, Chris has a great voice and I would love to see more singing and guitar playing from Chris.

Master lyricist. Yes he plays all the instruments. Hundreds of albums!! He never disappoints..ever!
I saw him at the NEC in Birmingham (England) in the mid 80's. Fantastic. If he'd wanted to tour, he'd have absolutely won over America.
If you listen closely to the very beginning of the song, that ghosting piano line in the background is part of the medley of one of his other classic songs called “tell me, there’s a heaven. “ I have been a fan since 1989 when the road to hell album came out. TEXAS is another great song from that album you should consider.
Great talent. Love his work
Look up up his recent live videos they are brilliant for a man that’s fought off cancer 4 different times and is still touring . He is such a strong man and so understated
Auberge, Blue Cafe, And you my Love, Looking for the Summer, Saudade, La Passione and many great songs by Chris Rea
This man has beat cancer, other health related illnesses and survived, he never wanted to be an entertainer he just loved writing music .. enough said about Chirs Rea , a real legend.
A real poet , and a maestro of the slide . These songs will be played 100 years from now !
This planet will blow up on the sound of this song! ❤️
The Curse of the Traveler is another poetic masterpiece by Chris.
Beautiful English man with his heavenly voice never tire listening to him ,he also sings my favourite Xmas song love you Chris
This whole album is one of the most complete in rock history
Yesssss, brilliant brilliant album.

He also wrote and sung fool if you think its over
This is about the M25 London (uk) orbital motor way, truly a road of hell
Saludos desde Argentina!
Chris had just come home from overseas. He was tired and it's raining, and he sees a glimpse of his mum's face, only his mum had passed.... That is what inspired this song.
Where should i start with Chris Rea toooo many Hits man just to many
I was so happy to find this!!! I’m late but better late than never, right? 😂 Please ... Please ... Please ... review Steel River or ANYTHING else by Chris! Have listened to him for years and he is one of the most underrated artists of all times! Thank you for checking this out 👏👏👏👏

Amazing, what more can you say!
Steel River is my favourite off his
A new Chris Rea fan i believe!!! Chris Rea should be recognised as a Rock legend!... Rea first became famous in 1978 with "Fool If you Think Its Over" after which his music career hit rock bottom. His manager left him and he was going to give up being a musician. It wasn't until 1983 after a lot of financial toil and trouble that he had his next hit "I Can Hear Your Heart Beat" which was a massive hit, firstly in Ireland and then the rest of Europe. His albums Road to Hell (1989) and Auberge (1991) were the biggest success for him and contain his finest work. He was a very heavy smoker and has been dogged by serious health issues since 1994. He las toured live in 2017.
incredible song !!!!!! this man is a true legend
Please please please. Some Chris Rea. Texas,. Daytona, Let's dance.
Can't resist pointing out that Rea rhymes with fear. Enjoyed the vid!

He has done on the beach
Pure perfection, love his music & voice.
Check out dancing down the stoney road , live . Slide guitar at its best .
Thank you for respecting your fans.
Fans and Creator are in symbiosis.
You have me respect and continuous support 😇⚘
I play this song every time I have to work in London which is quite a lot. In case you didn`t know, Chris was on his way to London coming off the M40 onto the M25. He got stuck in very heavy traffic as usual. He sat in the car and wrote the song while sitting on the M25. He was under pressure from his producers to come up with a hit song and this was the result.
Chris Rea (Ree-ah) has a deep well of amazing songs, that is if you love the blues
enjoyed it its a bloody masterpiece
Really great guitar player as well
truly underrated
Check "On the Beach"
has done it
You have to listen to Curse Of The Traveller.
So glad you got to this one. And yes, that's him on the guitar also. "Working on it" is also one of my faves.
He has done working on it ......ua-cam.com/video/Zv6QYQJPx1I/v-deo.html
material gain = road to hell. what you hold onto , you suffer through
72 year old new subscriber... Chris "ReeAh"... been collecting records since 1955... It's about time someone reacted to this incredible artist. I have 13 of his albums. You really should react to his song Texas, You Must Be Evil, On The Beach, Auberge, and for something different, God's Great Banana Skin... and so many more... and yes, he's a master slide artist.
what was 50s like
Chris rea moving on
That voice does it everytime 🎤then your guitar brilliant song love it ❤
Chris Rea is by his own account a blues artist who found himself in a pop career. Pretty much all of his songs are in some way blues songs but packaged as pop/rock songs. He has an amazing back catalogue stretching back to the 70s.
I get the feeling that he will be checking into "The Hotel California" after that trip. Really liked his voice and music.
Texas, You Must Be Evil, Catfish Girl, King Of The Beach, Lookin' For The Summer just to name a few Chris Rea Songs.
He is
Kim knew what she was talking about!
Kym and i am male lol
Love Chris Rea. Try “Fool If You Think it’s Over”...great song
Love him. What a voice please do Texas off the Road to Hell album. Enjoy
Fool if you think it's over CHRIS REA...(REE AHH)
I'm not Kim but could you please play some more Chris. Let's dance., Texas and Daytona
Please, and don't think Chris has ever been named as a great guitar player but I think he's been over looked. He can play just as well.
Don't know if you have something to inform you of comments on these old reactions, but this has got me started on a rabbit hole of my own. Definitely like your reactions. Keep it up.
Auberge, Blue Cafe, Love turns to lies, Since I don’t see you anymore, Loves strange ways, Wired to the moon and hundreds more!!! Check out Blues Guitars!
yes dude one of the best music masters to come out of Scotland👀 you should try tell me theres a heaven and be ready to be shocked to the cracking bone or on the beach and chilled out
English not sottish but agree with everything else OMG isn't tell me there's a heaven gut wrenching
Oh dear i do apologise memory lapse in the old grey matter, but in reality its fine lines as they say and the walls not there just yet
Let's settle for British then he can be Scottish or English, okay.
Pat, glad you finally got to this great guitarist and songwriter. I refer to him as a poor man's Mark Knopfler(Dire Straits), with no disrespect, in that he's that talented but relatively unknown. One hit would be Fool (If You Think It"s Over) but his song Let's Dance is lighter but his Tell Me There's A Heaven is darker and will probably bring a tear to your eye. Mark Knopfler is similar and you should look into his stuff too.
@recycler1955: They are both from the Tyneside [ Knopfler ]and Teeside [ Rea ] areas of England and I think they are both talented. Chris has done many other songs besides the ones you mentioned: On The Beach [ 1986 ] Josephine [ 1985 and an 1988 version which is better on New Light for Old Windows album ] about his eldest daughter, Auberge, Road To Hell [ Inspired by the M25 and M4 motorways in peak hour traffic ], Julia [ about his youngest daughter ] also 1989, Stainsby Girls [ about his wife, Joan], Driving Home for Christmas [ 1986 ] and many others.
Love Chris Rea (Ree'---uh), don't play him nearly enough. This is great music for driving to though
Chris Rea has done a lot of instrumentals - the best, in my opinion, is "Three little green candles".
"This ain't no upwardly mobile freeway.... oh no, this is the road to Hell"... (whew)
It's Chris "ree-ya" 👍🤗
Listen to that WHOLE ALBUM! THEN TAKE A DEEP BREATHH
Check out the Chris Rea song called "It's All Gone". Especially the live version at the AIMS Concert. It's on UA-cam. His guitar solo is awesome. He also plays the piano on it. Enjoy.
Reeea
PLEASE ck out "Working On It"
His style/sound is reminiscent of Mark Knopfler of Dire Straights.. And it's No accident. You have Gotta react to "Are you Ready??" And: "Working on It" It will take ya Church!!
Chris Rea (ree-uh) has an ironic take on modern society by telling a parable-like story of a man wandering down a road he's unfamiliar with. Chris Rea is very poplar in Europe (10 albums?) but the Road To Hell album is the only one that hit big in the U.S. That voice! That slide! Those words! He's a musician who is one of the most undervalued from the 80's and 90's. Great composer and ironic lyricist. Not an "upwardly mobile freeway" instead, sir, you are on the Road To Hell! His first "New Light From Old Shadows" album is a gold mine of treasures as well as "Road To Hell". Since you were unfamiliar with this song, I suggest you check out all of his albums.
This track is fantastic for spazzing out on the guitar, you can't help but sound good.
Hey Pat, put this one on your list. Castro band of siblings singing Rock and Roll. This band is where Home Free got the song Diamond Dreams. Maybe a two fer and do both songs in one reaction! Jason Castro is the oldest and got to the top four on Idol, dreadlocks and all.
chris rea....texas
The road to hell. Also known as the M1 from the Gold Coast to Brisbane. 😅
Lol, yep.
A modern version of Swing low, sweet chariot.
Gday buddy Kym here from FB all good buddy we all get busy
OK Now that you have discovered one of the greatest rock guitarists out there, you need to listen to this song a few times more and pay special attension to the lyrics. Remember this song is from 1989 and what he sings about is more valid now than ever. But thats just one of the great things about this song. The thumping base and his layed back gutar play are others. Congratulations you have leveled up 😎
Check out “And You My Love” for more great Chris Rea slide guitar and stellar vocals.
You are missing out out brilliant music
Rhe a like the bird
its Cris Ree-a
Looking for the summer is amazing
Hi, Pat! I have a suggestion for your reaction. Check out The Immediate Family’s video, “Cruel Twist.” The Band is made up of the legends, Danny Kortchmar, Russ Kunkel, Steve Postell, Leland Sklar, and Waddy Watchel.
збсь, брат
It’s pronounced Reee-Ah.
try stoney road
You pronounce his surname Reeya
If you like gritty vocals, you should give Michael Gira of Swans a try:
ua-cam.com/video/14b_yqIVeLg/v-deo.html
It's pronounced Ree A not ray.
Ты где жил до этого? На Луне? Это вещь 1992 года. Реакция. Побрейся иди лучше.
Check out his song......Let's Dance.....Also ...Daytona.... He is underrated or not known as much as he should be. Excellent musician.
One of the only 'road' songs where the name isn't mentioned. He got stuck in traffic on the M25 London orbital motorway, a 119 mile long circular source of misery. The World's longest car park.
Fool if you think it’s over. His best. Also On the Beach and Driving home for Christmas
On the beach is tomorrow and driving home he has already done..... ua-cam.com/video/LJ50yINM23A/v-deo.html
pronounced chris re'ah , he's one of the greatest artists of all time
you can enjoy his masterpieces like , "looking for the summer" that i have in my channel , " nothing to fear " " curse of the traveller " ....his discography is so so rich
please have a look at Chris Rea - Nothing to fear...
It's pronounced Chris Reeeea. It is also said that Chris wrote this after being stuck a a traffic jam on the M25, (The London outer ring road). I live along side it and trust me it is the road to hell.
Masterpiece
It's Re a. he comes from Middlesborough in the North East of England. We build fast cars and Motorways for them to speed on then but so much traffic that it all comes to a standstill. truly it's the Road to Hell.
Chris Rhea - TEXAS !!!
