Hi there, we've been enjoying watching this. It's so good to discover how we can share and learn so much from each other through channels such as yours. Look forward to more from you.
I've felt identified with much of what you have said as a Spanish. I wish you are having a good time despite the high temperatures that sometimes can be reached.
My wife is Spanish and we we have been living in and out of Spain for many, many years. From Bilbao on the north coast, Madrid and Castile in the middle and down to the coast and mountains of Andalucia in the South. Number one bit of advice is to learn basic elements of the language. If you can make friends with Spanish people you will have a serious advantage. They know all the tricks from who to fix your roof, where to buy a car, sort out your bank account etc. Foreigners often learn from bitter experience that they have been ripped off. Number Two - Spain (with all its multitude of regional variations) is Spanish. It's not the place of your birth with a bit of sun and tapas. The sooner people accept that there is a Spanish way of doing things, which may appear to be infuriating, the better they will integrate. It's a great country but it's not for everyone. Spend a little time there before you decide to live or work there.
Nobody except the people that have no choice are satisfied. Natives are sensitive as to why people relocate and its usually not favorable. Conflict usually means you bring it with you as you are the reason for your dissatisfaction looking for a way out of your own troubles. Moreover the social impact implies a decline in culture and way if life, for instance if th women gain a reputation for preferring foreign men means more Spanish men are without partners and decline is imminent simply due to the whims of women and a laidback culture.
This is all good information Denmark. ppreciate ya, thanks It does make sense, I mean about the Spanish being lay back. I can totally relate to that. There is a misconception about the Mexican laborer being lazy - yet, they are some of the hardest workers in the field. My grandparents used to say: you work hard, you play hard or you lay back. I would love to see Spain, the other side of my Latin culture. I hope to get a chance before I get old

So much safer here and the cost of living is much lower. Sure there are a few things that drive me crazy like the price of buying a house vs renting. I purchased a house here about 8 years ago and the price was ok but for the same amount back home I could have had something in a gated community.

You forgot to mention a couple of important points: - Spain is one of the safest places in the world, with one of the minimum criminal ratio. - Health care is also one of the best. Many people come from the rest of Europe for surgeries and stuff like than. - Weather is very variable: you can get -10C in Teruel or Burgos and around +20C the whole year in Canary Island... not in all places get +40C - In places like Canary Island you can move perfectly in English, many places are ready to attend you in other languages than Spanish. - Food is not only cheaper than other places but HUGE better. Food is a serious issue in Spain. You can find in any bar people speaking about football (soccer for Northamericans) or food! ### Now the bad: Don't try to make business there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... the legislations is absolutely against entrepreneurs. If you can live there but work remotely for your company in other country or you have a business in other country, I recommend it without doubt.
However, in countries like Morocco (with their saying "Rush kills") even a spaniard dispairs waiting for the meal to be served. But we end up getting used to it, it all depends on your preconceived ideas. After you change your mind, it all flows.
I offer myself as an interpreter, helper to everything you have to do in FUENGIROLA. I speak English and Spanish very well and some words, but few, in Norwegian

I do not know if it takes so long to transfer a vehicle abroad, but for the Spaniards it does not take us more than half an hour, you just have to make an appointment for the traffic website.

as yours. Look forward to more from you.
I've felt identified with much of what you have said as a Spanish. I wish you are having a good time despite the high temperatures that sometimes can be reached.
Absolutely! I do love it here. :D
In Spain there is a HUGE difference from South (Andalucía) and north (Basque Country, Galicia, etc) in most of this things
really?
Can you explain please

This is all good information Denmark. ppreciate ya, thanks
It does make sense, I mean about the Spanish being lay back. I can totally relate to that. There is a misconception about the Mexican laborer being lazy - yet, they are some of the hardest workers in the field. My grandparents used to say: you work hard, you play hard or you lay back. I would love to see Spain, the other side of my Latin culture. I hope to get a chance before I get old
I moved to Spain 2 years ago and I agree with all you said. But I think jumping in head first does help with character building. Great video man!
yo creo que en Asturias, Galicia o Santander, llueve más que en Copenhague
Si tienes razón me mudaré allí ahora mismo
Useful tips here: policia means police.
Bahahahahaahaa!
Shook!!
Wow, this video is just pure gold !
I can't believe you only have 8K suscribers man
Im in the final stages of buying an apartment in Spain with a view to semi retiring there. Found your video helpful, humorous and interesting. thanks. X
Glad you liked it. :)
Great video. I just spent two months in Spain and could see myself living there.
nice information. Yup living now here at Madrid but the paperwork was done by a lawyer provided by my company. Now I am enjoying here at Spain!!!
I am happy you are now living in Spain! Enjoy, and have a great day!
I came across your video by chance. I was thinking of moving to Spain as well, and your video was a great help. thank you
So glad I could be of a little help! I hope you're move will be a success! :)
one of the best vids on this topic... short and iformativ... thx a lot
Thank you for the video! It seems to coincide with the research I have been doing these past 3 weeks regarding Spain. We are from the US ... living In Phoenix AZ where our summers are very hot (great winters... so great it's our busy season; and summers are lifeless) my husband and I have been looking to buy a summer home in Spain. Our grown children speak Spanish but we do not. We have picked up a few words from visits to Mexico but not enough to get by. Something to work on. I am also trying to research the process of buying a vacation home in another country etc... Lots to learn! Thx again!!!
Thanks for the video. Spaniard here living in the Netherland for the past 10 years and thinking of moving back. I lived in DK too for a year, in CPH!
Thank you so much! This vid was very helpful. Greetings from Argentina🇦🇷
Tomassively, enjoyed your video. Loved the Paul McCartney remix in the beginning with the videography. Overall very informative and well produced. Thanks.
Thank you Aden! I am happy you got something from this video.
Thinking of moving to Spain? :)
I have no plans to live in Spain but this is one of the most helpful videos I've seen. Especially with all the links. You Europeans are cool.
Such a practical, helpful video in real terms. Thanks.
Great video, very informative. I'm a few years from retirement and Spain is at the top of my list for non-USA locales. I started with Duolingo about two months ago and it's great! The area you live in is EXACTLY what I have already targeted. So, I'm sure I'll have more questions in time.
Sounds great Robert! Well, you're always more than welcome to ask when the time comes. :) It can be a little confusing at first, but nothing crazy.
Hope you have a great day. :)
@@Tomassively you are such a wonderful person! Your short information make sense.
Pls, I would like to ask about jobs. Is getting jobs there easy for the foreigners?
Thank you! I will be moving to Spain soon from the US. yay!
Woo! Hope you'll be very happy here. :)
Sage Marken Hi! I was wondering how did start the process of moving to Spain from the US
I am thinking about moving to Spain in a year or so and you video was really helpful .
thank you !
This is such a good video, Thank you! Maybe you could do an updated version, what you know now and update on how your Spanish is?
Thanks Dallas! Much appreciated.
You know what, I've been thinking about doing an updated version for a while. :o Maybe that's next. 👍🏼
Thanks a bunch. This helped my husband and I so much!
So happy to help! 👏🏼
Great advice. An open honest presentation. Liked it so much I subscribed.
super helpful and informative buddy! i'm thinking of moving to Barcelona soon and your video was awesome and useful. tusen takk kompis :)

Thanks man!;) Great tips and overall vibes. I'm moving down to the sun soon from Sweden and is preparing!
Wow, your English is near perfect! Thanks for sharing the information. It is a great help.
This is so useful, and providing all those links is so nice
Hey men, this is so informative and well done video. I have dizziness about to move in Spain with my family from Poland, can’t think about anything else. Making a plan to do that at summer. It would be so great to meet someone like you. Hope for that. Will be checking out for you next videos. Adios.
Sorry for the late reply! I am happy you found the video informative. If I can do anything, let me know. :)
Hi there, I'm an American who has been living in Spain since 2007.
I love it here and for many reasons I don't see myself moving back to Texas.
So much safer here and the cost of living is much lower.
Sure there are a few things that drive me crazy like the price of buying a house vs renting. I purchased a house here about 8 years ago and the price was ok but for the same amount back home I could have had something in a gated community.
Costa Blanca is great!
I go twice a year there, to Alicante.
Yo to Benidorm and near cities, like Valencia.
I'm from North Spain
Absolutely! I will be near there soon. :)
"Learn Spanish if you want to live in Spain." Who'd a thunk it?
I like your irony...
Brian Gallacher 😂😂😂😂
Duh ...
You think? I think you be fine if you just speak to them very slowly 😂😷
Honestly, my mind is blown.
I am going to Spain tomorrow, can't wait =)
Thank's for the video =)
Thank you for the thorough information. If you think of more information about Spain, I'll be very happy to see it.
You said tranquil: Well, sounds like a holiday in a hot apartment glued to a laptop screen :) I'd do my banking in the summer when people are more upbeat & the ques at the banks move along quicker.
Looking to move after my degree with my partner once saved up! Thankyou for covering some key topics!
Im moving from Sweden to Barcelona in may :D thx for the info!
I wanna move to Barcelona too in 1-2 years. How is it there? What are your experiences and are you still happy there?
my feeling after finishing the video: Puffff, the negative points were "just that", you can relax and keep dreaming about moving to the beloved Spain.
Lol, I agree with you, I thought the same.
@@yassand Oh man, you brought me back to this video. I don't know when and if I can immigrate to Spain, I just remembered every time I have to come back to Germany from Spain, I cry like a kid.
Thank you for all your tips Tomas! I'm ready to move and needed some more confirmations :)
It's great to know that all the months I spent studying Spanish after work are going to be a + for my new adventure :)
Hope I can get a job asap when onsite. Unfortunately, I'm experiencing the fact that they don't even considerate you for an interview before moving, or at least it's a real low probability.
You are welcome Vera!
Oh yeah, you're Spanish will come in VERY handy. That, I can promise you.
Where about are you thinking of moving?
Tomassively I'm moving to Madrid so I'm sure I will learn the official Spanish before getting confused with Catalán or other minor languages :D
Spain has huge unemployment.
In honest I think you wont't have a chance of getting a job in Madrid - even if you are fluent en Spanish.
You have a change if you have a degree in engineering, computer science or the like.
Look for a job in tourist areas, bilingual, multilingual people have good change of getting a job
You can be self employed, if you can teach English: For a very long time >18 years, there had been a demand for English teachers. Expect long working days.
Look for UA-cam videos of resent date to get a more up to date information about advises on getting job in Spain.

Hi Lars!
Thank you for your honest feedback!
I did lot of researches and stats before taking the decision. I'm sure that an experienced worker in the Tourism & Travel industry speaking 5 foreign languages have chance to find a job.
Trust that my Spanish is enough to work, I just want to clean and adjust it :)
Suerte para todos!
Very informative video. I almost want to move to Spain now. I definitely loved my six weeks stay there a few years back.
Thanks for the tips! Trying to move to Madrid from Canada. On an unrelated note, nice MJ tattoo! :)

Glad you could use the video. 👏🏼
Great video man! Very helpful, I’m coming to live in Spain with my missus, we been living in London, we currently travelling around Asia and planning to live in Valencia around end of November, I gotta say I am lucky about the language as I am half Italian half Argentinian so Spanish language won’t be an issue, didn’t know about the NIE and the registration, thanks a lot!
How was it ?? Do you recommend
@@lunaalexandra_ it highly depends on what you looking for, work is not really a thing in Spain, hard to find a good paying job, a career even harder. I enjoyed my years in Spain (Lived in Valencia, Málaga, Madrid and Barcelona) definitely it has its charm but unless you have already a really good paying job or big savings I wouldn't recommend.
Then is definitely a beautiful country with lots of Sunshine.
But I am not married any longer and I don't live anymore in Spain I'm actually very far from it but way happier :)
Good luck!
I'm a spaniard who also boede i Danmark for some time. It's funny cos, even though we're culturally kind of apart from each other, paperwork tends to be just as tedious. :D
Im moving to Alicante, Spain in 6 days and im quite anxious
Edit: i finally arrived (read the replies for the whole journey)
Are you moving for work ? Or retirement? Alicante looks amazing !
yusuuf ibrahim im a 17-year-old moving with the family to study at uni, i arrived yesterday, it was the most exhausting day of my life
mhmd_at wow. Where did you move from ? I can imagine it must be super tiring !
yusuuf ibrahim yusuuf ibrahim started the journey at 3:45 AM, went to Istanbul (2 hr flight), waited 3 hrs there then went to Valencia (3 hrs flight) carrying 4 super heavy bags (i was carrying 2) and we waited for 4 hours at the train station. After 2 hours we finally arrived and the next day, which is now, we’re very happy there and i advise everyone to come!
@@cutuway how is It going bro?
Thanks, your video was very positive and helpful.
I am so glad you liked it James! Thanks for letting me know. :)
You forgot to mention a couple of important points:
- Spain is one of the safest places in the world, with one of the minimum criminal ratio.
- Health care is also one of the best. Many people come from the rest of Europe for surgeries and stuff like than.
- Weather is very variable: you can get -10C in Teruel or Burgos and around +20C the whole year in Canary Island... not in all places get +40C
- In places like Canary Island you can move perfectly in English, many places are ready to attend you in other languages than Spanish.
I already work remotely paid in U.S. dollars $300k a year. Will I be rich in Valencia Spain? I want to buy a mansion and have slaves
You can say it louder but not much clearer!
Yes, I am moving to Spain from Canada 🇨🇦.
Very helpful. Thank you Tomas!
You are welcome! :)
Nice one, Tomas. Thank goodness we are coming from Africa which is muy tranquilo anyway.
However, in countries like Morocco (with their saying "Rush kills") even a spaniard dispairs waiting for the meal to be served. But we end up getting used to it, it all depends on your preconceived ideas. After you change your mind, it all flows.

Where did you grow up? I grew up in the US in a mostly white, middle-class suburb, and learned how to day "yes", "no", "please", "thank you", "friend", "excuse me", "man", "house", and a few other words and phrases in Spanish just from watching TV westerns.
Great video! Lots of info. Looking to relocate next year
