Once my husband was sleeping, he was snoring. Our daughter run next to couch and slipped, just before her head hit floor he put his hand under it. I was shocked. He looked at me and said what happened. He wasn't even awake when he did that

Dad instinct. Sometimes our parent instincts are so strong we can sense our children are in danger, even if we're asleep.

Adrenaline at work. Parents experiencing an adrenaline rush are terrifying with the kinds of things they do, and their self-preservation instincts go straight out the window in such a scenario, so they will do whatever it takes to keep their kids safe, even if it kills them. Just imagine pissing off a parent by going after their kid....you now have someone with no self-preservation instinct, a near-immunity to pain, and roughly 5 times their normal speed and strength after your sorry hide. This is why it's always a bad idea to piss off a parent by going after their kid(s). They will come for you no matter what it takes or what the consequences will be, and you will not be able to scare them off or reason with them unless they know that their kids are safe.

When I was young I woke up in the middle of the night and wispered to my brother that it felt as if I had to throw up... literally two seconds later, my father bursts through the door to get me to the toilet... I still to this day have no idea how he could even hear me, because it was two closed doors between us, in the middle of the night and I was NOT being loud.
My dad passed away one year and one day ago. I miss you dad!

I have a seven week old, he sleeps next to our bed. When the breathing noises he makes change and stop in a specific way I get up cause I know he's about to throw up. Your dad was probably max level.
I guess after a while it's just part of your instincts. You hear better, cause the little breaths they make are small sometimes and you search for them cause you want to be sure they're ok.
Maybe because you weren't making any noises. I'm sure he could hear you breathing through two doors.
God bless your dad and God bless you.

This is why dad’s are the best at teaching life lessons. They allow enough space to explore and discover but are always watching and waiting for the exact moment you begin to fall and the catch you. You still learn a valuable lesson from the fear of almost getting hurt but don’t actually allow you to get hurt. Mom’s will prevent you from getting anywhere close to danger because they can see the millions of outcomes from every decision you could possibly make and have prevented them all!🤣😂

So one time when I was a kid, I was waking weeds and plants in the woods of my grandmother's house which is next door to my own house. I got stung by a bee screamed in pain and I saw my dad burst through the back door if my house and full on Olympic sprint 500 meter dash to get to me. When I got stung I just froze up which was stupid because there could have been a whole ass hive of pissed off bees trying to get me and we had no idea if I was allergic at the time. When my dad got to me he smacked the bee that was still stuck in my arm picked me up, mind you I was like 8 or 9 years old, and he proceeded to carry me back to my house. Me being carried in my dad's arms had absolutely no hinderince on his speed. He was just as fast. My dad is my hero. Love my dad.

When our daughter was a year old my husband was taking a picture with some relatives while holding her in his arms and by her feet (she was standing on his hands leaning on his chest) she did a flip forward within a second and he grabbed her by the ankles just as she was about to almost smack her head on the concrete steps they were standing on. I came outside to the commotion and her stunned face and him looking pale but composed and everyone looking shocked.

I've done these myself with my godchildren.
I'm tall so they used to climb me and kind of back flip off and I'd have to catch them. Either that or they climb something else so they can show me the latest thing I'd be catching then jumping off.
Fantastic memories. If only they never got older than about 5 or 6. Old enough to use a toilet but not too old to be carried so you have a constant cuddle and a chubby cheek to kiss every now and then.
There's just something magical about feeling their heartbeat and knowing that your arms are their safe space.

I was shocked, even if I'd had time to react I doubt if I could have reached the baby in time, I'll always feel guilty but at the end of the day, I wasn't the one who left the ladder where they did. When the mum comes racing in to find the cause of the crying he’s still sitting on his arse as he laughs that he’s got it all on film. He could have done with watching this to gain tips on parental responsibility.

I'm sure that there are many more videos showing the babies NOT being caught. They show up in court, not here. Or they get deleted.

I swear my kids were trying to kill themselves… so many close calls. Being a parent is nerve racking.

Men and women built differently. Women wud often panick and freeze. But onthe otherhand they are extremely careful and would often foresee danger and not allow kids to do dangerous activities to begin with but r often rendered paralysed with emotions shud something occur suddenly.
Men r clumpsy. They allow kids to do dangerous stuff... may not be watching... but when something happens their reflexes act like a sportsman carching baseball. Such a wonder
