There is a reason why Mannings wanted Arch to set and learn for 2 years. Playing QBs without development can be a killer for them.

Joe C signing BV to an extension and increased buyout crippled this program. We need new leadership across the board.

Agreed, who the heck rewards a coach for doing absolutely nothing to warrant a raise. That is not good business, but this is OU we are talking about, so not surprising.
I hope they keep him around for his 10 year contract 😂

The responsibility may all fall at his feet but still nothing changes. He just regurgitates the same garbage every press conference.

That ia why Emmet Brown doesn't get a pass. Catching a football is the same in high school, college, and pros. No excuses. What the heck is up with the RB playing time? Why isn't Robinson getting 20 carries?

Navy is naval officer school. They’re under government contract and will go on to the military after they graduate and receive their commissions as officers. They signed on the dotted line already. Same with Army and Air Force. Their respective officer academies and they’ll go on to do the same.

Ryan I definitely disagree with you on MH. Mateer is not so good that he is a hands down winner. If MH had even average SEC receivers he would have thrown for 350+. This game was horrible in every way. I seriously question the coaching staff. Their game planning is horrible. Their personnel decisions are horrible. Their talent evaluation is horrible. The player development is horrible. Ryan totally nailed the wide receiver room: they’ve had all year and they just stink. We need 10 new guys not just a few more. I dread next year already with this coaching staff.

As soon as I heard all the salesmanship seminar bromides that BV spouted off when he got off the plane, I knew he wasn't the answer. Switzer and Stoops knew how to talk to players, Venables talks empty conceptual, intangible word salad. He's not inspiring nor a commanding presence to the players. He hasn't shown good decision making since he got here. There is a world of difference between a position coach or coordinator and the job of the guy at the head of the team. Yeah, Venables won with a good defense at Clemson, but it was still Dabo Sweeney's team.

Hoov seems way more enamored by Hawkins than me. I thought he was good today (aside from just throwing heaters when a floater was required), but what we saw during the season was that the way he was running around in the backfield to make Navy look silly didn't work against SEC defenses. He tried the same thing multiple times during his brief tenure and just ended up getting killed, which led to more fumbles.

Ben Arbuckle & John Mateer will fail for 2 reasons: Emmett Jones & Demarco Murray. They cannot develop players. Cale Gundy's production, as both the RB coach and the WR coach, is in another universe compared to these two. And because Arbuckle & Mateer will fail, so will Brent. But he deserves to because he is too incompetent to see it or to afraid to fix it and replace them with coaches that will compliment Arbuckle. He never should have fired Cale.

Is it true Joe C and OU admin cannot pay the BV buyout even after 2025!! ?
seems it will take until 2026 or more to get rid of BV . The sad thing is that 7-5 next season ( which is still terrible for OU standards) willl be hailed by Joe C as a success and reason to keep BV ,who we all know is a bust.

  • @oudude8770
    @oudude8770 29 днів тому

We don’t have the pull and financial firepower to be successful in the NIL era. This is contractor-tamper football now. And were it not for that, Venables might be better as a HBC. But this ain’t it chief. I wonder how Bedenbough would do as HBC. The Dabo-Venables pre-NIL folksy BS sounds good but it doesn’t mix well with contractor-tamper football: most of these contractors don’t give a flying rat about that OU logo and I don’t why that’s not being more talked about. I’m for looking at BB as a replacement because we’re probably gonna start over anyways and he’s the one guy we need. He’s why we’re even relevant in “recruiting” anymore, which is a safer way of saying we’re bidding on a 19 year old contractor who will probably be gone in 12 months.

@ Mateer will light it up at OU with his pass and legs as well if weapons around him. You can’t have Thr undisciplined play that you see at OU and win. We need better talent at player spots and coaching spots as well.

Another friend of Bob’s gets rich on the back of the program. The Stoops football program has fallen beacause of his decisions. Bob led the search committee, led the failed NIL program He is the man behind the curtain pulling all the levers. He is busted trying to be cheap and he has tanked the program. Castliogne gave him the keys.

  • @VidMoose1963

This recap is as frustrating as the OU season. You got dangerously close to covering the true issues. It’s on the AD and his minions who have made a continuous series of bad moves ever since the SEC announcement. The AD’s hubris cost us Lincoln Riley. He made a bad hire in an unproven BV and then poured $44M of cement on that bad decision. Stood by and watch BV make a lazy, terrible hire at OC. These moves and others will cause OU to disappear from the college football scene.

    Horrible portal performance

Seriously kid carried this today 🤦🏽‍♂️ you’re obviously not very knowledgeable about the game of football look at his numbers they speak for themselves if those seven drop passes would’ve been completed he would’ve had over 350 yards kid made plays out of nothing. You’re just hating if you came away from that game and have something to say about the quarterback you’re clueless. And that was achieved with receivers out and kids. I’ve never touched the field.

Really the kid would’ve had over 350 yards if balls would’ve been caught. And a completion rating that would be insane for a young freshman QB playing in a ball game. Some of your ignorance is mind blowing.
