Great video! I am glad you tested your Birdie, it will be good to know if they require a battery change or if they only last so long. I purchased something similar to the Birdie at JCP a couple weeks ago and it does have batteries. Stay cool in this awful heat wave!

Love those VB patterns & colors :) Sorry about your device failing, though I suppose it's better to find out now rather than in a true emergency-but yes, that's alarming to have one's alarm unexpectedly not performing (sounds more like an electric toothbrush that's running low on charge). Been hot & humid here in VT, too-I don't want/need A/C, can manage with icepacks & box fans...though the midlife "hot flashes" don't make it any easier ! Hope things cool down a bit for ya' up over there.
You may have already contacted them or found this info on the website, but... How Do I Replace Birdie+’S Batteries? Simply slide off the tab on the back, insert two new CR2302 batteries and slide the tab back on. Arkansas is pretty stinkin' hot too! I'm over it!!!
