The Beagle Express Railway, previously known as the Grand Sierra Railroad, has been a part of Camp Snoopy since the land first opened in 1983. Originally a simple train ride around Reflection Lake, the railway was transformed during a major refurbishment in 2014 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Camp Snoopy.
The Beagle Express Railway makeover introduced new vignettes featuring animatronic Peanuts characters, adding a layer of storytelling that has made the ride even more magical for guests. The ride now offers a scenic, four-minute journey through Camp Snoopy, with riders crossing a covered bridge and passing by animated scenes of the Peanuts gang preparing for their outdoor adventures.
As you board the train, you’ll travel through a series of camp-themed scenes, with appearances from Snoopy, Charlie Brown, and other familiar faces from the Peanuts comic strip. From crossing bridges to witnessing Snoopy and the gang engage in camp activities, the ride offers a fantastic view of Camp Snoopy that’s perfect for adventurers of all ages.
Camp Snoopy, where the Beagle Express Railway is located, is a dedicated Peanuts-themed area that opened at Knott’s Berry Farm in 1983. Created to celebrate the outdoors and the adventures of the Peanuts gang, Camp Snoopy features towering trees, rustic bridges, and a variety of rides and attractions designed for young visitors and their families. The land is home to several Peanuts-themed rides, including Linus Launcher and Charlie Brown’s Kite Flyer making it a perfect destination for fans to enjoy playful and gentle rides.
Knott’s Berry Farm, originally founded as a small berry farm and chicken dinner restaurant in the 1920s, has grown into one of the most iconic theme parks in California. Owned by Walter and Cordelia Knott, the park began to expand when the success of their Chicken Dinner Restaurant led to the creation of Ghost Town, the park’s first themed area. Over the years, Knott’s Berry Farm has grown into a full-scale amusement park with themed lands, thrilling roller coasters, water rides, and family-friendly attractions.
