There is a lot of awesome areas around the valley but Tempe is definitely a personal favorite of mine. Since we've lived here I've seen so much growth. And it has a great vibe.
Tempe is such a fun place. So many festivals and art shows as well as the many restaurants and night life. Beautiful waterfront. The only negative is the planning department allowing a retirement facility in the middle of a college town, thus having a negative impact on Shady Park venue. 😏😪
I liked Tempe and I lived there for a year and a half and I'm a U of A grad. But this is probably an unpopular opinon but I do think it's a little over hyped. I live in Arcadia now and I like it a lot more.
1st of all Tempe is not a part of phoenix it is a separate entity entirely, they seamlessly blend into each other but Tempe is its own city. People will make fun of you if you say Tempe is phoenix. Sadly ASU has taken over more and more of the city since 2008, leading to worse traffic due to more apartment buildings and less parking structures and the city leaderships idea to beautify and narrow certain streets has not helped the increased traffic flow.
Tempe is definitely apart of the Phoenix Metropolitan Area. Yes Tempe just like Mesa and Chandler, Scottsdale are all separate town counsels etc. And yes you are right they do blend in together.
@LivinginArizona yeah, but phoenix vs. phoenix metro are two distinct different things. I'll 100% agree that tempe is in the phoenix metro area, but i wouldnt say its part of phoenix. Also love your videos keep up the great work
I was just in Arizona last week for vacation my 3rd straight year going. I hate leaving cause I love it there so much and I have family there. I hate leaving long distance family.
Been there 13 years ago and I love it! It was a business trip and my 1st time in the US. I've been there in Arizona Mills where I bought my PSP at Gamestop. I hope I will have the chance again to visit the place with my own family. By the way, nice video. Made me smile while remembering my visit over there.
Wow. I lived in Tempe from 1996 to 1999 before moving out to a new house in AJ for another few years. Sure has changed a LOT. Glad to see the giant bunnies are still stationed on Mill Avenue. Arizona Mills Mall is a little older than you think it is, though. I remember going there when it was brand new & looked it up. Opened: November 20, 1997. :)
The city name is like a name of the indonesian food 😂. Like a soy fried kinda thing like hash brown or something. If hashbrown made from potato, the tempe made from soy bean. Also, the arizona state university, a.k.a. ASU means anjing (dog) in javanese it means offensive, but it could be for joking. FYI. Cheers from indonesia 😂
Glad I found your channel. I am currently engineering my move back to Arizona at the end of November, and needed some visual representation to gain further encouragement. It's been 7-years and things have changed a lot in the sense that I will not be able to afford living in Tempe again per se. However, there are a lot of good options out there in the surrounding areas. Thanks!
I went to ASU! In early 2000's and it is completely different around the campus then when I went there. There is a lot of high rent apartments around the campus
Great video and great channel. Love the detail you put into showing each and every city. I'm obsessed with Arizona and want to move there soon, living in southern Oregon isn't cutting it 😅 Boring as hell and zero culture.
Tempe was great in the 90's and 2000's but now I have no Idea what it's like since I havnt been involved in that area since the mid 2000's. Whats it like now?
Tempe sucks. Take my word for it. I lived there from 90’ to 08’ The last 6 years I lived there I watched a town go from a carefully cultured scene to a commercial pile of crap. MAMA sure did her work well pushin out the music and art scene. Trust me when I say, Tempe sucks.
May ask why exactly did it suck for you I got accepted into ASU and I'm not sure if I wanna go but I'm looking for an exciting place where I can have that college life😂
@@Ezra-nq7hh Ezra! Dude! Check out the post again. It didn’t suck until the dates specified. It may be cool for you. I just know what it was like way back cuz I was in the music/art scene. @@astraluna6is9 to be honest I've heard that tempe is becoming very congested and I come from an Arabic city I've heard that lots of people from my city are going there and I'm trying to avoid that scene😭 wich is why I decided I'm going to north Caroline charlotte I already got accepted there
@@Ezra-nq7hh You heard correct dude. Phoenix and Tempe are seriously congested. Especially Tempe. It’s tiny, and ASU, realtors, developers, and whom ever else are just cramming that town to the limit. But I shit you not. This town was awesome back in the day because everything was still small. We had our pick of 2-3 excellent Mediterranean and Arabic restaurants. Our pick of Mexican food, Chinese food, Ethiopian food, vegetarian restaurants, and they all kicked ass. Now? Not so much. I don’t live down there anymore anyway. Haven’t since 08’ Anyway, congratulations on being accepted to University in North Carolina, and the very best of luck to you and your family. PS Sure would love to see and hear and smell the air of the Middle East someday. Peace be to you brother.
The only reason to visit Tempe is if you are a college student. It's all centered around the university. Also Tempe town lake is the Salt River bed ithat's running right now. It's not a real lake. It's massively expensive traffic is ridiculous.
Way to overrated! Go out west towards surprise, perioa. Lots of land left to build or get a house. Huge development with the $10b+ semi conductor factory coming

Too bad you didn’t do the big fall festival.
Spent the night at the Catholic Church in Tempe on a weekend for a retreat and yes we snuck some wine from the church stock, lol.

Looking to move there for the low rents.
