I don't know what it is about instant noodles, but I tend to prefer it without broth? With the packet of seasoning alone and a dash of sesame oil and oyster sauce it feels like just the right amount of rich!
(I use mushroom flavor since it's the cheapest lol)

My fav recipe: Cook the noodles normally, drain the water. Put butter in the pan and let it melt. Put the noodles back in with the powder and Fry the noodles just for like a Minute. Add cheese at the end and if you want cut some small tomatoes for the topping

  • @NioEvelynn
    @NioEvelynn 7 місяців тому +11

If you are draining all the water you’re missing out on the seasoning being mixed really well to essentially create a sauce for your noodles. Keep maybe an ounce of water or even just a small splash to add to the noodles as you mix the packet into it. It ensures your seasoning actually mixes well and you are able to use the whole packet without fear that it will cause the texture to be “powdery”

My fav is Indomie (because I am from Indonesia) and I always either eat it with only eggs or experiment on it. One of the best combinations I like is adding a touch of mayo, sprinkle some cheddar cheese while it is hot, and mix in a few spices (different day, different spices). It tastes so different every time and then when I am bored, I just eat normally.

For an Americanized take on instant noodles:
Get some broccoli or carrots or celery, and some garlic, shallots and onions, and cut all them up to bite size pieces.
Get some avocado oil and put a tablespoon or two of it into a frying pan, and heat the pan with only the oil in it. As the oil heats up it will flow better, so as it heats up you can swish it around the pan and make sure everything is coated on the inside of the pan with the avocado oil.
When the oil gets nice and hot, throw in your chopped garlic and shallots. When those start to brown, then toss in your chopped onion and your instant noodle sauce packet. Once the onion starts to become translucent and brown, then toss in your celery and carrots. When those two get about half-cooked (the outside can be penetrated with a fork with little to no effort but the inside is still somewhat hard to poke through), get your broccoli and put it in.
This next step is important: slowly pour a tablespoon of water at a time on places around your frying pan full of veggies that have no water. Tablespoons at a time, because you don’t want too much water as that slows the cooking process down and makes the veggies soggy, and you don’t want too little water as that won’t give you the steam you desire and it will let the veggies burn. Ideally, you want the water to be visible at the bottom of the frying pan, but you also want it to be visibly boiling still. Add too much water and it isn’t boiling, add not enough and you won’t get the steam you need.
The steam will cook the broccoli and will finish cooking the more tough carrots and celery. When the broccoli turns a more vibrant shade of green in the pan and the broccoli stem starts to be less stiff, it is about half to a third cooked; this is when you add your raw egg, I would say about 3 raw eggs, you should add the eggs to the frying pan on top of the veggies and let it cook for a few seconds before scrambling the eggs into the rest of the veggies. Be quick with this, as the raw egg is likely to stick to the bottom of the pan if you leave it alone for too long. The more and faster you mix, the less likely the egg will stick, but you want those first few seconds that the egg is in the pan undisturbed for a good portion of the egg to cook solidly because that egg will get shredded to tiny pieces that you will never taste if you mix it into the veggies the moment it hits the pan. By waiting a few seconds, you will have big enough bites of egg that you will be able to enjoy, while still getting that mixing. If some bits of egg do stick to the pan, a quick splash of a tablespoon of water on the spot and some light rubbing with your cooking utensil like a spatula will usually get it off the pan. Water is your friend here, as long as you do not put too much at once!
Once the egg is all mixed in and fully cooked, then you add your instant noodles, and you pour a couple tablespoons of water onto the instant noodles. Much like with the broccoli, the steam from that water will be absorbed by your instant noodles and they will cook quickly. Make sure everything is mixed together.
Finally, get everything into a bowl and chow down!

When the newest stuff is half-cooked, add the next ingredient until all ingredients are added. Sauce packet should be added around your garlic and onion, early on so the flavor infuses. Use small amounts of water to prevent burning. This is DELISH MAAAAN

My favorite way to do it: cook the noodles stovetop in the broth with extra seasonings (bit of onion powder, garlic powder, and pepper for me). I also make sure to only add enough water to cook the noodles, no more. Then I scoop the noodles out, and poach a few eggs in the broth, cooking the whites but leaving the yolk all ooey gooey (I hate fighting with the shells on hard-boiled and softboiled eggs). Dump it all on top of the noodles. After cooking the noodles and eggs the broth is reduced but still enough to keep things soupy.

Or you could do the egg and cheese creamy ramen

If you keep the broth, then you've basically made instant ramen the way it's meant to be used.

    No fermented soybeans?
    No breakfast beans?
No beans that are sticky and taste good?
    What a shame :(

A bit of noodle water, the seasoning packet, chili oil and Kewpie mayo. Mix, add your favorite veggies and toppings. Delicious

When i was 15 i would make the noodles like normal with 2 packets. Id use one seasoning packet with the water for broth, then strain it into a glass and pour the other packet on the noodles. Then...debauchery. But i did make something worth a shit with some kewpie mayo and scrambles eggs one time. I remember that instant ramen meal better than any in my life
