    My seat recline does not seem to "catch" in place for some reason. I can either fold it in half or it opens to a full recline. Am I doing something wrong or is there a likely issue with my stroller seat?

    • @ParentingCentral
      @ParentingCentral  3 роки тому

      Hi Ashely! The seat recline definitely should just click into place easily. It sounds like there might be something wrong with the recline mechanism. It should have 3 "upright" positions and then fully flat. (As well as being able to fold the seat over)
      It would be worth contacting the retailer you purchased from, or Baby Jogger directly, to troubleshoot and work out the best way to fix it.

    Does this stroller accommodate the bench seat and shopping tote?

    • @ParentingCentral
      @ParentingCentral  4 роки тому

      Hi Tracy, thank you for your question! It's the City Select Lux that can accommodate the bench seat and shopping tote. The City Tour Lux is Baby Joggers upgraded travel pram, so it's not designed to accommodate two children and it doesn't have as many accessories. It's more of a small and simple little stroller. I hope that helps. - Rachel.

    At how many months can baby ride stroller without car seat or bassinet? Also does the canopy stay in place when it’s recline all the way?

    • @ParentingCentral
      @ParentingCentral  6 років тому

      The seat is suitable from birth fully recline. I contacted Baby Jogger to double check this just to be sure. You don't need a bassinet or car seat to use it for a newborn if you don't want to.
      With the canopy, I found it did slowly fall down when I took it over bumpy grass etc with the jiggling around. Which you can see towards the end of the video.
      Hope that helps!

      According to the Baby Jogger website the weight limit is 20.5kgs.babyjoggerstrollers.com.au/product/city-tour-lux/(under "Product Information")
      That said the seat isn't huge, so they'll probably outgrow the height of the seat before the weight limit.

      I'm not sure of the exact degree that's for newborn. But the Baby Jogger City Tour Lux is suitable for newborns.

    Which stroller do you recommend more this or the baby jogger city tour 2

    • @ParentingCentral
      @ParentingCentral  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Irma, thank you for your question!
      It really depends on what you're looking for in a stroller. The Tour 2 is lighter, more compact and has a higher seat back so can accommodate a bigger toddler/preschooler. The Tour 2 is also definitely the more popular of the two strollers.
      Alternatively the Tour Lux has a bigger basket and the parent facing seat that so many parents love.
      I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any more questions!
      Cheers, Rachel

      @@ParentingCentral thanks for your response, I want a stroller for the daily use, light and compact, my baby is almost 6 months old, I have doubts as to which of the two has better tires and is more durable, and on tour 2 I have the doubt that if in the well-seated position it remains 90 degrees or it is very inclined, thanks and regards

    Many people complained about canopy falling issues. What is your opinion?

    • @ParentingCentral
      @ParentingCentral  4 роки тому +1

      It's a tricky one! You can see at the end of this video the canopy fell down. And one complaint I've heard as well is that the canopy never looks flat and firm, it always looks a bit loose and floppy (which you can see throughout the video as well ). Since this video I learned you have to "pop" the canopy fully open. It will make an audible "click" when the canopy is fully extended. And then the fabric also looks smooth and flat.
      And when it's fully in position, it shouldn't fall down unless its bumped.
      So on the fence. I have a real soft spot for this pram overall, but I also think if lots of people are making the same mistake with a product, it stops being so much a user error and starts bordering on being a design issue.
      I have thought about making a video dedicated to just making sure you're popping out the hood properly.
      I hope that helps!

    Have you compared this to cybex mios?

    • @ParentingCentral
      @ParentingCentral  6 місяців тому

      While I don't have any comparison videos for these two models, I am familiar with both of them.
      I'd say the biggest difference between them is the Cybex Mios is overall a bigger and better quality pram compared to the city tour LUX, so it would be better suited to use every day - if a lightweight, compact pram, with small wheels and limited suspension would suit your lifestyle.
      Whereas the city tour LUX is closer in size to a travel stroller - although it's too big and heavy for carry-on luggage (which I think is why it's been discontinued) So it is more compact when folded than the Cybex Mios.
      I hope that helps!
      Let me know if there was anything specific you were looking for in a pram/stroller or what features you wanted to compare between them.

      @@ParentingCentral thanks for your prompt reply rachel! I was torn between these two as I’m looking for a sturdy, lightweight, reversible stroller that is comfortable from NB onwards (no additional carry cot needed) I also plan to keep the same stroller for yhe next child, if possible. I came to find out that the latest mios’ weight is close to this one, so I was wondering if the price difference justified as it has the same disadvantages and whether the difference (placement of breaks, and accessories for older sibling) worth it. Other review that I stumbled upon also said that the leg rest on mios is more comfortable.
      I live in a hot humid climate

    • @ParentingCentral
      @ParentingCentral  6 місяців тому

      @ayydeall8576 I think it sounds like the Mios is going to suit you better if what you're looking for is a compact everyday pram. Also the city tour lux has been discontinued for a while so there won't be as many options for accessories etc for this model compared to the Mios that I believe is still current.
      Overall the Mios is going to give you a better experience.
      The one thing with the Mios to be aware of is the frame is proportionally quite tall for the weight/size so it can feel a little bit too light/flimsy pushing it compared to something with more weight and wider wheel base.
      But that's just the reality of a lightweight pram.

    Still worth buying in 2020? Can it be used for newborn?

    • @ParentingCentral
      @ParentingCentral  4 роки тому

      Hi Zeeshan.
      Thank you for you question! I still think it's a lovely little pram. It's suitable for a newborn and perfect for footpaths, shopping centers, firm flat surfaces etc. It's not an ideal walking pram for all terrains, but it's a lovely compact pram. They do feel surprisingly weighty when you lift it with the strap. I'm personally very comfortable lifting them, it's just feed back I have heard from other parents that it's heavier than it looks (though still only 8.8kgs) You might find they're good value as well given they've been around for a couple of years now. I hope that helps!

      @@ParentingCentral thanks for your detailed reply. I bought today silver cross horizon city. Still my mind is stuck with this city tour luxx. The only reason I didn't buy luxx is seeing people complaining online about its canopy issue.

      @@mr.x335h Thank you! The canopy is a common complaint. I didn't know you needed to fully "pop" out the hood at the time I made this video, so you can see the canopy never looks smooth and flat in the video, and it does fall down at the end of the video when I'm walking around with it on grass and playground mulch. Enjoy your new pram!

    I just bought this second hand for my second child whilst still using my bugaboo bee 3. OMG I should have never bought the bugaboo, should have started with baby joggers straight away. The bee 3 suddenly feels heavy, fiddly, I just dont like it anymore 🤦🏻‍♀️ Baby joggers really are amazing!!!

    • @ParentingCentral
      @ParentingCentral  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Lucie, thanks for your comment. I agree! I have actively talked a few people out of buying a Bugaboo Bee and to get a Tour Lux instead. It's simpler, more compact, easier to fold, and the price is great. The only thing I think the Bee has over the Tour Lux is the seat is a bit taller. But otherwise, Tour Lux all the way. - Rachel

    • @luciemarama7923

      Oh yeah! I love that too.
      Unpopular opinion but I don't understand why Bugaboo is so "popular". There's things I genuinely like about all their strollers and they do have some specific features people are looking for, so I can see their value for some situations, but they do often come with big compromises in design. - Rachel

  • @rosyapplekitchen635
    @rosyapplekitchen635 3 роки тому +1

    Do not buy this. There are much better ones for the price. I emailed them about the canopy and models now have a thicker material which allows the canopy to stay up. Reasons I dislike, the child’s feet cannot rest when they are older they dangle. The angle is too wide meaning the slope of the pushchair is too wide and flat it is a problem if you commute. I have the bend the handle up to fit on the bus in shops etc. Noone else has to. The footmuff i purchased for this doesn’t really fit it slides down and is the biggest pain in the backside if you live in colder climate. And it collects every little bit of dust i have to wash so often. The seat isn’t very padded so child is lying on a hard surface. Doesn’t work without the bumper bar as the seat isn’t inside the pram its like sitting on q table. With others the seat is more sunken in so more comfortable overall. Otherwise it is a robust stroller. I have used for one year now.
