Edt
I met Geoff on the Piccadilly Line yesterday going up to Cockfosters. He was doing his 25th attempt and he was a really nice bloke
25th attempt ? Blimey... he says in this episode he was never doing it again lol. :)
@@rbartynh he broke the record on that attempt as well (and on a previous one too)
I did enjoy every episode of the tube back in 2003
Go Geoff go!
wow Geoff looked different there...
it was 2002
Not that different tbh
If they really want to create tension by making it look like a train is coming when hes getting the boxes off the track they could at least have used the right type of train. He was on the District and Circle lines and the train supposedly coming was a deep level type.
I fancied trying the challenge one day - didn't know how much running was involved. Fuck am I doing that without a bag full of beers and a load of cigarettes, lolololol. I might try that "half a pint at every station on the Circle Line" pub crawl instead :)
Just saying you don't have to "arrive at *AND* depart from" every one on a train, you have to "*EITHER* arrive at *OR* depart from" every station on a train.
The geezer said they should catch a H&C or District from Aldgate East, but that means missing out Aldgate because Aldgate is only served by the Metropolitan and Circle lines.
Just to clarify. ^_^
They ran from Aldgate East. Aldgate is not served by District or H&C and you need to either arrive at, or depart from every station on an Underground train
Stations he'd like to see closed
Shoreditch
Chesham
Watford
Stepney Green
2/4 :O
The North Harrow to West Harrow could be done much quicker using the side roads. I would know, I live there!
They will need to redo it once the northern line extension to battersea opens
Nah, listen - I think you've misread my comment mate. You either have to arrive at, *OR* depart from (or both) every station on a train. For example, Kensington Olympia has dodgy train times, you can't just run there from Earl's Court and then run off to Shepherd's Bush and say you've done it. Otherwise, if you were fit, you could run the 2.4 miles between Amersham and Chesham and save yourself 15 minutes - but no, you need to have been on a train at every station or else it doesn't count...
whats the theme tune and the sountrack or the tunes played during the programme called?
8 minutes from Northwick Park to Kenton, I could do it faster walking backwards.
I wonder if he was hunted down once the station closed.
2:05 is Amersham , not Chesham.
if u closed shorditch station it would save a couple of mins - the mayor of london was obviously listening to that bit!
Geoff looks so young and skinny
The Circle line is one of the worst lines- they probably would've been better of going to aldgate east and getting the HC or ditrcit line
I know this was filmed in 2002 but why do some of the people in this show dress like the 90s.
It took longer back then than it does nowadays for new things in general to become the norm, not just more fashionable outfits lol. Even until around 2008/2009 a lot of things were left over from the 90s, whereas in the “10s” things take less time for people to become aware of them - i’m guessing a big contributing factor to that is the improved information electronics and internet access we have nowadays. Looking back it was kinda funny in those transitional years, for example riding on L and N reg (1993-1996) stepped entrance buses to and from college but one of the passengers is a modern / trendy looking guy flicking through tracks on his 2nd gen iPod touch :-P
