I just saw this band last fall in Albany New York and it was one of the best three concerts I saw all year and everyone was singing along with her lyrics and seemed to be total devotees of this band so they are not unknown anymore and weqx in our area has been playing them for close to a decade so the cognoscenti of Indie radio up here all know them here in the Northeast...ps just turned 68 and love this band, adore Ellie, and would say what is best is their originality...no two songs sound alike, & they don't sound like anyone else
So many making a big deal out of the dead crowd response, but this time period was a threshold point for WA. Most people had heard OF them but not yet familiar with their works. A lot of the "silence" from this crowd is it realizing they were obviously really really talented... but being surprised & unsure how to respond. WA literally stunned them with being so polished/tight. Crowd noticeably joins in more towards the end. Betting a lot of them went home and googled, bought their music, and became fans. Oh... and PS... Ellie, I love you.
same shit happened with foo fighters when they hit the road in 1995. People just stood there and didn’t know what to do except yell at Dave to play Nirvana songs because they didn’t know the music. But now everyone’s got a change to hear them and plenty of people will sing back. Wolf Alice is like a wine… they need more time, and people will realize how badass they are.
I'm telling you, I was at this festival but didn't catch Wolf Alice because I hadn't even heard of them back then. Kicking myself a bit for missing out on great bands like that, but I'm about to see them in the same location in a month so I'm excited!
Typical of being at a festival in the afternoon, it's sit on a hill and take in a band you don't know time, great gig and I bet they won a lot of new fans
sometimes Blush make me cry like a little girl...the tears were streaming down my face this morning.. unreal...the beginning of the song with that guitar really gets me.
What everyone seems to not understand is that their album My Love Is Cool had only been out for barely 3 months. Not many people were going to know the songs unless they jumped on the album immediatley. Same thing with one of The 1975's performance on a video I saw on yt once. Their album hadn't even come out yet so not many people knew them or heard them yet commentors expected BIG BOISTEROUS crowds. Give it time.
Saw them two months ago in Charlotte at a really small club ... no more than 200 people in the place. They absolutely rocked it. Their live sound is really powerful: drum/bass really really hit hard... they make it rock show. The guitarist works his butt off, his sound comes across better live ... good riffs and atmospherics. She sounded great ... I really like the usage of two mics. They are a must see if they are in your area!
Mark Sullivan : yes sir ! I can tell by watching all the videos these kids are incredibly talented and incredibly good live ! I really love them they have something special, and you can tell they were raised together and our very close friends💝
God that Blush performance was so beautiful with the slow buildup and Ellies soft vocals that went along just perfectly with the distorted guitars and Joels drumming that really picked up and got very distinct.
Such a lively, amazing and hugely talented performance!! Wolf Alice is becoming one of my all-time favorite bands, and I have a very wide range of music genres that I like. Phenomenal music!!
+frazier onandoffagain "Ellie you think that Wolf Alice are as good as Led Zeppelin, Queen or Aerosmith" ? "Eh yes and I would like to repeat the successes of those bands " (LOL)
+Zigi Samblak your reply puzzles me a little (LOL) How could Pixies have inspired Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Queen or Penetration. 70's bands (although LZ's debut was released in 1969) . Pixies emerged in the late 80's
+Keith Bate dream syndicate reminds me of a cross between buzzcocks and the velvet underground. bettie serveert does a great cover album of velvet underground songs. you dont hear much of bettie serveert in relation to these new 90's throw back bands that are female fronted.
I get fricken chills/goosebumps every time I hear and sing along to "Moaning Lisa Smile." It is such a provoking, mind-easing and very soothing song. I love it!!
Been following this band for a while now- they have such a great sound, distorted guitars, excellent drumming and love the two 🎤 Ellie uses- they remind me of a mixture of bands from 80s n 90s but still have their own unique sound
I was there and I felt so bad for them because only a few people were dancing and I really wanted to jump and scream but everyone else seemed to be bothered by that
une performance ! Ces musiciens sont très bons (good as the WOLF superbes) Quelles belles choses ! impeccable impressionnant ! on dirait morrissey en pareil
+Mathias Hummelha ha, she means you, but shes taking the piss. amywat shouldnt you be busy making the worlds best beer and cars or winning football championships.
Intensely great performers was live in Detroit mid winter '18'? (at 64 I am bad with dates). See live at all cost. Vote please Nov.2020 to oust pres pumpkin head.
Live sound is always worse than studio. But this is one of those rarely bands, like Nirvana or smth. when ugly live sound is better, you need to have drive for this. And Who cares that the crowd is dead maybe it is too hot and people are tired, and just want to listen, like me. Anyway Nobody's booing. I appreciate your true live sound.
This is like the best new band of the last couple of years if not this whole decade!
Decade my friend.. I'm pretty sure.. 🤓

Just damn!!! They just nail Berlin, Glastonbury 2016., and others. Can’t stop listening; repeat, repeat repeat. Thank you Wolf Alice!!!
How does this not have millions of views? WTF

Such a lively, amazing and hugely talented performance!! Wolf Alice is becoming one of my all-time favorite bands, and I have a very wide range of music genres that I like. Phenomenal music!!
Same here couldn't agree more
One of the best bands around nowadays Their energy reminds me of a cross between the Duke Spirit (10-15 years ago) Hole, and Penetration
+Keith Bate going for best ever
+frazier onandoffagain
"Ellie you think that Wolf Alice are as good as Led Zeppelin, Queen or Aerosmith" ?
"Eh yes and I would like to repeat the successes of those bands " (LOL)
+Keith Bate Go back a bit further than that. They are obviously fans of the Pixies who also inspired the other bands you mention.
+Zigi Samblak your reply puzzles me a little (LOL)

Ellie is the sexiest woman on the planet.
Wow I'm a new fan and I'm wicked tired and old too, she and they all make it look so easy but hell we know it's NOT , Peace

Exciting to see how they have progressed from this this immature stuff to where they are today.
how come nobody is talking about theo just climbing onto joel at the end of the set??
i was thinking the same thing lol
20:29 Theo tricked me into thinking he only had 1 leg left.
imagine the goosebumps people felt being here
I didn't know Thom York has a side project as bass player
I’ve never thought Eminem plays bass for a british alt rock band .
That’s Fantastic

They're German, give them time. They just need to warm up to this sort of thing ;)
+Thomas Schachtel The clapping, however, was incredibly precise and on time.
i hear the a bit of the early Jane's Addiction somewhere in their music
