The Realistic Nova-6 is one of the best sounding speakers Radio Shack sold at the time. If you don't like the plastic lattice grill, look for the Optimus-2B. The 2B was replaced by the Nova-6.
I have a set of mint condition Nova 10's on stands in my living room. They sound good to me, laying on their sides. Playing through a 73' Pioneer SX-6000.
Hello, I have a Pioneer SA-6500II 30W per channel, I looking for speakers of 25W or 50W, do you think my amplifier works with that kind of power handling capacity? Regards. Denis.
What you think is for a fuse is actually an RCA jack. Many of the Realistic brand speakers had screw terminals along with an RCA jack including the original Mach One.
Interesting! I have the Nova 7s and some Nova 8s. Very nice looking, I agree. And the 7s, supposedly, were designed to compete with the KLH Sixes. They sound pretty good on a Pioneer SX-838, 50 watts x 2 at 8 ohms. So good power. 10" driver and two 3" tweeters inside.
Decent two way speakers. Those aren't fuse holders on the back, they're plugs for RCA jack connections. To get a good idea what wattage these should run at, look at the package deals Radio Shack often put in their catalogues. They would often bundle receivers with speakers. If I had to guess these are probably good for around 30-40W.
I got the speakers and the realilistic sta 90 it was great nova 6 was new in1977 the sta90 was new in 1976 I got a RS lab14 turntable paid $500 for all had it till 1990 wish I still had them George Dietlein
take those infernal grills off! the sound will DRASTICALLY open up in the treble and they will even throw a modest stereo image! p.s., this is a 2-way design, no midrange driver, just a wide-range [down to 300 cycles!] "tweeter" and a woofer run full-range with inductive roll-off at top-of-range.
Ive seen these at Value village and didn't pick them up. Shallow boxes won't sound good. Life's to short for mediocre speakers. I agree these are 3 out of 5 and only if used in a very small room..
That doesn't proved anything without the test sound. You people who brag about good sound and not perform sound test is like lecturing a children that doesn't know anything
I still have mine. I bought them in the late 70's for 34.95 each on sale.

Nova 7s are quite rare, I can’t find a pair for sale, and I can’t find anyone who owns them.
@@OmegaHellHound543 I just bought a pair of nova 7b at a thrift and they sound great.
excellent review
