Brutal Doom v22 Beta 3 The Flesh Consumed Walkthrough Part 1 All Secrets (except first level)

  • Brutal Doom is modification for classic Doom made by Sergeant_Mark_IV since 2010. Until today Brutal Doom is still in development adding new features in later versions. With Brutal Doom classic Doom becomes much more dynamic and hard, making gameplay much more interesting with the spirit of oldschool late 90' FPS games. In Ultimate Doom campaign I also use remade soundtrack IDKFAv2 composed by Andrew Hulshult. Note that this mod Brutal Doom works only with ZDoom forks source ports, I'll put all necessary files in the links in description (except original WAD file, you need copy it from original game).

    8:31 I had to skip NIN secret at first level because of spawning horde of demons and in this level there are no medkits. Also lava sections are very dangerous (it spawns an explosion each time you enter the lava floor) and buggy therefore I had to save each time before crossing a lava to not receive additional damage. These first two levels made my blood boil, also the same thing I had to do in sixth level because there also you have to cross through lava and avoid cyberdemon rockets (I barely survived this section).
    Edit: I found out that, I can disable damaging lava splashes, thank God! Also I can disable spawning Demon Spheres (actually it is not fun at all, because when it wear off I lose one weapon, bonus health and armor). However, I don't want to repeat this walkthrough, first two levels marched my nerves enough (even without these lava spashes they are very hard). Nevertheless, it will be useful in future Brutal Doom walkthroughs.
    Edit2: I planned to make Brutal Doom Hell on Earth campaign next, however I had to cancel this walkthrough because of game breaking bug (custom level Blood Fortress can not load, probably author did not compile this map in .pk3 file). Also on Industrial Zone I could not get one secret (not this one in teleporter, it has been removed from GZDoom source port) because elevator to tower battlement with plasma rifle stuck. However disabling damaging lava splashes and spawning Demon Spheres works well, I hope The Plutonia Experiment campaign has not similar bugs.

    Do you know anything about the 'secret psx levels' being embedded into brutal doom? They were added into v21 (not sure if they remain in v22?) and one of them was accessed by shooting a manhole cover with the rocket launcher. I skimmed through your walkthrough trying to find out how to access these maps (without cheats), but could not find anything...do you have any further info on these? (obviously these would not count towards secrets). thanks

      Apparently they are in Brutal Doom, Doom 2 campaign. One secret level mansion can be accessed from level 16 (Suburbs) in the plateau with four plasma rifles. Other should be accessed after completing level 20 (Gotcha!). Unfortunately I've found game breaking bug in v22 version, I mean after completing first additional level game crashes (because Blood Citadel level has not been compiled in .pk3 file). However this level should be still present in v21 version, I haven't tested it because v21 version is not fully compatible with latest GZDoom engine, maybe other ZDoom forks like Zandronum or Skulltag have not this issue (I wanted also play Shadow Warrior for GZDoom port).

      Normally I would play the lost chapter wad, but they are modified from the original versions (still good), would be great to play them within the doom 2 campaign rather than standalone. Thanks again
