As in an icebreaker? Yes, but I don't know the logistics of using an icebreaker to free a pod of orcas in the middle of an icefield somewhere off the northern Japanese coast.
They very likely did... they were fighting over each other and likely drowning each other to the point of exhaustion. Even if some got away, it is very likely that many of them drowned.
@@mattrice3993 That means nothing. They said they left and came back and the Orca's were gone.. That doesn't mean they lived. Use a little critical thinking and common sense and stop believing whatever you're spoon fed.
Apparently they don't usually stay underwater for very long. They would drown. I saw an oceanographer saying they only submerge for brief periods of time, the ice is really thick, they would drown. 😭
@@wandaenman5630 Indeed. In fact the reports all say "likely" and "apparently" escaped. Feels like when Mummy and Daddy tell the kids they took the beloved family pet to "live on a farm". 😕😢
They have a blowhole have to come up for air 3-5 minutes but usually stay on surface swimming and doing other things more energy more oxygen. Who knows how long the ice is? Also under stress so probably couldn’t make it far.
They can but they need to come up for air...if they can't find air hole in the ice to breathe they can drown....the issue here is that large surface of water is covered in solid ice
Please help them. 💔
There is a guy that saved a bunch of whales with water heater for hockey
This entire pod of orcas may not be experienced in handling drift ice. Anything in the wild is subject to natural selection.
I was thinking they were going up for air…maybe they’ve traveled long distances and knew there wasn’t going to be pockets to surface.
😢😢😓 isn't there some kind of ship that can open a channel for them?! 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Prayers for Orcas
Of course, Japan, a country known for hunting and consuming dolphins and whales, say there’s no way to help those orcas.
Japan never said that!
Chinese netizens expressed concern over the incident
Please do everything you can to save them
How tf does this even happen. They are smart animals
They might have drowned 😭💔
Why would you say that 🤣🤣🤣😭😭 let me believe my bunny ran away to get married and start a family...
Did you not even read the title of the video?

I hope all survived and gound their way out to escape. We all deserve to survive.
You mean they drowned. . Escaped......from this life
I hope all survived.
A military aircraft could make a explosion immediately
At least we could see the blood splattered on the ice that way.
Help!
Wait!
Can’t they swim under the ice?
