- Rich Goodwin flying another amazing aerobatic stunt display in his modified Pitts S-2SE Biplane, the 'Muscle Biplane',during the Duxford Summer Airshow 2022.
This biplane G-JPIT was built from scratch over a period of 4 years. It is based on the Pitts S2S Fuselage and incorporates all the tried and tested modifications flying on Richard Goodwins other Pitts S-2S, G-EWIZ. One major difference is the wing which is a unique design by Eddie Saurenman Aero Works. Bigger ailerons and more wing area give a phenomenal roll rate and better low speed handling. In due course it is planned to add a pair of small jet engines to the fuselage sides and to then display the aircraft as the 'Jet Pitts'.

One day, I will fly one of those biplanes.
Love the baby in the background! Nice to have families enjoy it!
Great performance. Looks like a Wolf S-2 with the single ailerons. Fantastic machine. Very good, aggressive flying. Love it!
That plane is a monster. I can’t believe that’s only 300hp. A few less pounds and a few more hp and it’s a dang helicopter.
I would love to see this, vs a manned quadcopter and Cyclorotor!!
British Skip Stewart
I stick with Jim Leroy as the best aerobatic pilot, low flights and extendeded aerobatics made him the bets ever, skip stewart reminds me Jim, because of 'close to ground' aerobatics but still, Jim was the fckng best!! Greetings to the heaven, bulldog!!
Agree with this. Skip is the only one that come close to Jim Leroy.
RIP Bulldog
That's Skip Stewart pitts, with different paint scheme and a brit climate and narrator
Another pilot with a good Muscle Pitts one he built himself is Skip Stewart, Hopefully I see Rich at Eastbourne next month.
Yes, Rich is booked for each day of 'Eastbourne Airbourne'.
Hammergeil....
Amazing. I wonder if this plane was in WWI what it could do. Add 2 .50 cal.
It’s really slow though compared to those fighters
I'd take a P-47... More than twice as fast, many times the ceiling, 8 - 50 Cal. Sure, this one could dance around a lot, but there would be no escaping those 50 cals for long.
It would get shot down quickly.
