Hi Robert! My wife and I have also camped at many of the places you visit. I watch your channel regularly, especially when I feel the need to travel someplace "In my mind". Thanks for the great work! -Mike
Thank you for wearing your mask. Hiking on a light rain day is great. The mud, not so much. The Smokies are wonderful, even with lots of folks visiting. It's a big place with lots of sits, views and experiences. Appreciate you sharing with us.
19:35 “It was a dark and stormy night... No for real, it really was!” 🤣🤣🤣 That was cool the lady recognizing you! I see security in your future Sir! Thanks for the excellent video! Bill in Utah
It's like being in the clouds. Looks like everyone got out of the house during the pandemic and went to the mountains. I'm glad I got the chance to visit the Smokey mountain. Your the best Robert! 😉
Absolutely fantastic video Robert! The scenery in the Smoky Mountains is stunning as always and I loved your tour of Cades Cove, like taking a trip into the past. Each to their own, but I don't think I could handle Gatlinburg, there is just so many people walking around, it's worse than a shopping mall. LOL! Thank you once again for the great video and sharing it early. Stay safe and God Bless!!👍👍😊
Cades Cove is always pretty busy but there are days it’s shut just to walking and bikes. Those days are great. There is also the Roaring Fork Nature trail in Gatlinburg. It also has some old homesites. Throughout the park you will find some structures. We love hiking further in and finding the remnants of old structures and even old plane crashes. The main routes are always busy but quieter entrances to the park, like Greenbrier, are normally not as bad.
about 36 mins in, that building with what you called the aqueduct thru it, I believe that was the spring house, not a privey. They were typically built over little streams would keep the room cool.
Great video Robert! The smoky mountains is one of my favorite NP's. And even though G-burg is crowded somehow it's still fun to walk the streets. And yes I have heard the Cherokee KOA is large and crowded. We stayed up he road from G-burg at the Jellystone which is now Imagination Mountain campground.
Hi Robert! I enjoyed watching the beautiful trees and mountains throughout the whole video and seeing historic landmarks. I had no idea that the East coast has something like this, definitely marking it on my list when we travel East! Thanks so much for having us on the road and see you onto to the next state in the road. 🤟🏻😊🤟🏻
Love the "Good Tourist Trap" comment. They do have an amazing aquarium there. We plan our visits for during the week and avoid the summers and leaf season.
Great video....the beautiful Smoky Mountain. I like the old wooden constructions. Interesting Codes Cove and a good cooking show. Congrats...... Love MOM...>>>
I'm late for this since I've been catching up with all your videos. Cades Cove was also the site of the largest search and rescue operation ever conducted in a national park. The missing person was Dennis Martin, a six year old that was last seen at the family's campsite on June 14, 1969. Martin has never been found, and his search was an absolute disaster. It rained three inches the night of his disappearance, and it he probably died of exposure. With the way the search was run it would have been a matter of luck if he was found, and no remains have been found to this day. The only good thing about the search was a total overhaul in the way missing person searches were run. As you might be able to tell from part of my username, I was in search and rescue for 27 years, retiring as my sheriff's department search and rescue coordinator. The lessons of the search for Dennis never left me in every search we did, RIP Dennis. You did not die in vain.
Yes, the rain gives a whole new different prospective, even more smokey in the smokey mountains. You have a idillic life riding in your RV. I end up wanting more.
Man what you are doing is the good life. Just what me and my wife look forward to in a few years. I like your meal introduction. I'm from the southeast US. I love our mountains and have really enjoyed these videos as you travel through my home
Great video as always , love the Smokie Mountains any time of year! My family is from Southern Virginia ,two hours drive from there. I have been able to spend many happy days in the Smokie Mts. So enjoy your channel, GOD bless! 🙂🌄
Man. We were down there at the EXACT same time you were. I wish my wife and I could of had a meetup with you. We love your videos. Keep up the awesome work.
Your videos are truly a most welcome diversion especially in those hard times of coronavirus we are going through(experiencing a second lockdown here right now!).Just keep them coming buddy.Highly appreciated.Best wishes and cordial greetings from William in Bruges,Belgium,Europe
Enjoyed it Robert!! Excellent footage my friend. So much to see and do in the GSMNP. We are really looking forward to your Glacier NP content in the coming weeks. Cheers!
I've been to that area many times since I was a little kid. 82 Worlds Fair in Knoxville. My parents have lived in the hills over Pigeon Forge since 97. Love the park, love all the stuff to see and do.
Ah, Sunday morning in the Smoky Mountains with Robert...nice! I was there last year and your video brings it all back...I even remember driving past that Dollar General in Wares Valley :-). I stayed in Townsend, a much more relaxed area than the other gateway towns. The first time I visited Klingman's Dome was in the morning after a storm had dumped a little snow and it was beautiful! I got to ride my bike around Cade's Cove on one of the days where they close the loop to cars--that was very cool. As far as Pigeon Forge is concerned, it's worth a visit to see the huge displays out front like King Kong and the Titanic, but driving through once was enough for me. The crowds you encountered are just like the ones I saw in the National Parks on my trip last month...I had to bypass several spots in Yellowstone because there was just no parking. Hopefully things will be less crowded next year (fingers crossed). See ya down the road!
Great Video Robert. I have been to Cades Cove many times, but you make it more interesting. Smart move on the 5 mile hike to waterfall. It is a pretty strenuous walk with rough path. Water and food highly recommended. Thanks for taking us along.
Robert, I loved your video today. I used to live in NC, visited some of the places here. Loved that you decided to video Gatlandburg/Pigeon Forge, inspired to see people living/breathing outside. Traveling is still possible ( people need to be reminded) along with taking Covid precautions👍 Beautiful parks too! I’ll have to check out some of those👍
In all of by backpacking adventures since 2003,,,I have NEVER seen a clear sunny day in the Smokies. Beautiful place nonetheless and it continues to call us.
Love southern Appalachia! The NC side of the Smokies is a lot less of a tourist trap if you're looking to avoid the massive crowds of Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge. It's still very tourist friendly but the crowds and traffic are much more manageable. It's nice!
Absolutely loved this video! You were in my stomping grounds. We've been camping the Great Smoky Mountains for twenty years. I'm glad you finally were able to experience Cades Cove. It's a cool place but I can see how it can be a little underwhelming when you've been to so many great places as you have. Little known fact, the CBS television series "Christy" was filmed in and around Cades Cove & Townsend. BTW, hearing Desert Rain and the pitter patter of rain as you walked around Cades Cove gave me chills.
Been years since I was last in the Smokies. I need to get back there. We also noticed the crowds this year in the parks. Sometimes we would skip certain hikes or spots and return in the early morning. Keep Wandering!
That is actually the Spring house and not the privy. Much nicer when there is not rain. There is also a tree in Cades called the Pearl Harbor tree to find.
I've found it. Well, I didn't find it. I was told about it and pointed in the right direction to locate it by a fellow Cade Cove hiker. You are also correct about the spring house.
Robert, enjoyed your video on Cades Cove. It's our favorite place to go when we're in the Smokies. If you go back, there's a primitive road that runs from the Missionary Baptist Church up over Rich Mountain to Townsend. We usually take it when we're in the Cove. Your truck would make it fine. Also, there's several excellent campgrounds there in Townsend.
Our favorite of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park campgrounds is Smokemont which is just outside of Cherokee, NC. Saw Elk, and a lot of wild Turkeys. Pretty river-side campground that in the fall was not crowded at all. No hookups and you have to run your generator in the day but they do have a water faucet and good restrooms.
Beautiful video. We had the same experience at Clingman's Dome as you did - in the middle of a cloud - except it was September and the trees were icy. We hope to return and do it again!
That was great! I need to spend some time in that part of the world! Very beautiful! Love the burger/meatball cooking show too! And not only that but you saw a bear sleeping in a tree...I think I'd have to plan on a BIG full week, see Dollywood for kicks too!
Look Rock Tower off the Foothills Parkway is a concrete tower like Clingmans dome. Beautiful views and very few people. All the Foothills Parkways have incredible views with much less crowds. The Tubers were in an area called the Townsend Wye. The river is Little River. Laurel Creek is the creek along Laurel Creek rd. to Cades Cove then enters Little River at the Townsend Wye. Great Video of our Mountains, The Great Smoky Mountains.
Thanks for showing more of the Great Smoky Mountains! Can’t wait to see this one day in person! Will have to wait until Covid ends though as no heading south for now!😢Another really good video!
Great video... IDK why why Smoky Mountain is the most popular National Park in the entire United States... It must be because of location right between South (Miami, Atlanta) East Coast and Mid West... Because its not the prettiest spot in the US thats for sure :) And it wasn't fail Robert! I love this foggy weather!! So refreshing! I makes me want to go there even now!! :)
Hola Robert, me encantó tu vídeo, Yo estuve hace casi un mes y me fascinó pero me toco mucha lluvia 🌧 y algunos sitios cerrados . Quiero volver en Otońo. Hermosas las montañas 🏞

9:43 ""Sometimes I wish I had a class B" Indeed! I'm really satisfied I bought a small class B RV instead of something bigger. Yes, it's cramped and doesn't have all the amenities found in bigger units I considered, but I can drive it to virtually any place accessible to a regular car. And it's big enough for me and my dog.
Robert, we actually parked our trike on New Found Gap on 10-13-3020, at the same spot you parked Mini Tini II. We spent a week seeing the Fall colors. It was awsome.
Hi Robert! My wife and I have also camped at many of the places you visit. I watch your channel regularly, especially when I feel the need to travel someplace "In my mind". Thanks for the great work!

Robert, that's why they are called the Smokey mountains...still beautiful
Just gotta say, your cinematography is superb; editing skills: awesome! Love your drone footage!
Thank you Robert for showing some of us who don't travel but wish they could. Keep up the good work. I really enjoy them.
Robert, you literally made my mouth water as I watched the cooking part of this video. Looked SOOOOOO GOOOOOOD!
I would love it is he would put up the recipe for the sauce
Thank you for wearing your mask. Hiking on a light rain day is great. The mud, not so much. The Smokies are wonderful, even with lots of folks visiting. It's a big place with lots of sits, views and experiences. Appreciate you sharing with us.

Yes! The aquarium is fantastic!
@@meloneyparker We are retired so we go during the week in the off season. I had no idea how good it was going to be so I was shocked
Smoky Mountains National park is one of my favorite places I've ever visited. So, beautiful in Fall. Thanks Robert!

Another great video! Man I love my back yard!
Great video. Thanks for all these wonderful videos we get to watch. You have come a long ways and will be at 1 million subscribers soon. 👍
The rain was a perfect accompaniment to the graveyard.
Been years since I was last in the Smokies. I need to get back there. We also noticed the crowds this year in the parks. Sometimes we would skip certain hikes or spots and return in the early morning. Keep Wandering!
Ironically, my wife and I were there last month! You drove down the exact same road of our campground! Thank you for making great videos!

Beautiful place I visit all this place few years ago,my sister lives in Scottsboro Al great job Robert like always 😊be safe
Went there several times when we lived in Tn. Beautiful but so crowded now, Pigeon Forge bumper to bumper. But awesome.
Extra busy this year, lots of people headed to the mountains for their vacation, instead of flying somewhere.
Great video I love the Smoky Mountains!
This is truly beautiful
