Another wonderful episode from Mirandaaaa!! I love it!! Her videos are instant classics. I really think she needs her own show on Nickelodeon or Disney+.
Thanks for watching, Chanda! 👋 RE: taking out your kayaks, we'd like to encourage you! It's still very early fall, there may still be time for one or two kayak adventures? 🤔😉
So much fun! Just this little video was enough to get my kids and wife interested in doing a kayak day trip - maybe not to Posey Island but it was just enough to show them what fun there was to be had in a way that "serious" kayaking videos don't. Great work!
I stayed on Posey Island in the mid-90s -- part of a 3-night, guided kayak trip. There was no bathroom, as I recall. I remember that a raccoon tore into the hatch cover of our guide's kayak that night (he'd left some trail mix in there). The morning after, we crossed the channel to Stewart Island in a dense fog. The water was calm, and you couldn't see any horizon ... the water and sky were the same color. It was like paddling through space. But we could hear the foghorns of freighter ships ... so we had to race across as quickly as we could. It was other-worldly. So fun to see that you got to enjoy it!
Thanks for picking up the trash! I always do that too and it makes me feel so accomplished and happy. Especially to know we are protecting animals like that sweet deer from ingesting the wrong thing 💕
finally some love for our smaller park spaces!! My favorite park is only about 120 or so acres, so it's pretty small but I love it and it's so beautiful but people mark it off for being small!
I was just camping on San Juan island this past weekend and as we were launching our kayak from our campground boat launch, we saw a sign posey island campers!
OMG that was so cute! One of my favorites so far! I was wondering how that deer got to the island lol Miranda you are amazing and adorable and probably my favorite show on the internet! (not because I had a whole bottle of prosecco before watching this lol) I love you =)
Down in Southern AZ there is a Patagonia Lake State Park that's very popular. It's not the smallest state park, but they have several "boat-in" campsites and one of them is on a VERY tiny island in the middle of the lake. They have nice bathrooms there too, haha!
We have some little spoils islands that were created when they dredged the boating channels just offshore here in Clearwater, FL. Some are big enough to set up a few tents / or throw a small party. Fun stuff.
We have Gillette’s castle, Selden’s Island and Devil’s Hopyard all in the area of East Haddam CT. If anyone is passing through Connecticut I would stop by some of our unusual parks.
Dry Tortugas off the coast of Key West is pretty small. There is a ferry that runs so it wouldn't be remote during the day, but at night only the overnight campers would be there. It's a beautiful area that was designed as an anti-pirate fort, and then converted into a malaria-filled prison.
PNW is forever my favourite region of all time! Posey island was really cool, and the fact that you had to kayak there, fun little adventure. In the UK where I now live, there's the beautiful NPs, but there's also these areas of land called Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), I always wonder what designates it to be an AONB, just like State Parks sometimes.
I LOVE kayak camping on islands. An avid kayaker and occasional backpacker, kayak camping is like glamorous backpacking. Capers Island (heritage preserve, so more like wilderness camping, ish) just north of Charleston, SC should be on your bucket list if you get the chance.
@rei /Miranda you guys should try to do a video collaboration with Brad Leone from America's test kitchen! Your personalities/video styles are really similar and I feel like you could teach brad how to camp(he's terrible at it, lol) and he could create some gourmet camp food. Anywho, love the videos and Miranda is endlessly entertaining.
That looks fun! Closer to the mainland you'll find Deception Pass State Park on Whidbey Island, and I highly recommend the hike up Goose Rock. If you start from Cranberry Lake Campground, you can hike along North Beach, go past the bridge (without crossing it), and head up Goose Rock from there. Round trip that's about 4 miles, and there are nice water views for much of the way.
Hey hun hope you are well. Sorry we haven't been able to visit you for a while we were in Bulgaria then Malta were we got stuck due to Covid and flights we're cancelled. But great to catch up with you again. Your vloggs are so entertaining, just love it and great enthusiasm, keep it up hun. Stay safe and catch up again real soon God bless you both.
You could come to Isle Royale, which isn't the smallest, but is the least visited National Park. It's super beautiful! But maybe wait till next year, all of Ontario is on fire and it's pretty smoky right now. Technically it's in Michigan, but the boat trip from Minnesota is shorter, so you could stop in the BWCA too!
You should check out the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore in Wisconsin. Great place to kayak camp, there are sandy beaches, lighthouses, and sea caves. You would be shocked it is located in Wisconsin and part of the national park system.
You should check out Zion Nation Park in Utah. That is probably my favorite park ever and the best trail "in my opinion" is the Emerald pools. There are a total of 3 and the last one is just breathtaking and such an amazing hike. I would do it all the time with my grandparents when I was younger.
The smallest state park in CT is also an island, Minnie Island SP. It’s only 0.88 acres and is located in Gardner Lake SP. There does not appear to be any camping available in either park.
I just found out that island camping is allowed on just about any of the 200 or so islands on Lake Ouachita here in Arkansas. I'll be paddling out to kayak camp on one of them sometime in the coming weeks/months.
I have lots of questions. I've watched many of your videos (love them) and I've watched this one three or four times. I want to plan a trip up there and do the same kayaking experience you did. Did you bring your own kayak? Did you have to take a ferry out to anywhere? Are there fire pits on the island? I'd be driving from Northern California and although I mostly car camp, I could adapt to a backpacking style trip too. I can look up whether you need reservations or not but I thought I'd try here first. Thanks in advance for your help.
Hi! I brought kayaks there, but there are rentals on the island. There's a ferry that goes to Friday Harbor and it's just a short drive to where you launch the kayaks. You do need to reserve the campsites on washington.goingtocamp.com/ - Miranda
Ferry boat or kayak to North Manitou Island, Michigan. (National Park) Located in Lake Michigan, approximately 12 miles west-northwest of Leland, Michigan. It is nearly eight miles long and over four miles wide, with 20 miles of shoreline. Mammals such as white-tailed deer, red fox, porcupine, gray and fox squirrels, bats, and raccoons can be seen almost on a daily basis. Birds abound in the forests, open meadows, beaches, and waterways. 😁
It's not a state park but it's a national park in the state of Georgia called Cumberland Island. It is about 18 miles long And it has wild horses. Many experienced Backpackers have a difficult time with hiking the 18 Mile in sand.
I love kayak camping! but a question for you, why did you disassemble your paddle when launching? seems like an unnecessary extra step. Anyway, entertaining! Keep it up, Miranda! You've got a really cool job.
What brand of kayak did you use? My SO and I started kayaking 4 years ago and I have found that we probably need crossover ones bcz we like to do class I & II on rivers and near shore on lakes Michigan & Erie.
Camping in state parks for all 50 states would be a cool series.
The drone footage of the kayak race was such a delight!
"It doesn't smell good....but it doesn't smell bad." The best explanation of a nice state park bathroom.
Miranda needs a raise. Or to be allowed to create her own UA-cam channel. 🥰
Why? How much does she make?
Not sure... But she deserves more! Creating content like this 👌
She has her own channel now.
@@Allan_aka_RocKITEman you're a little late to the party 🙂 already subbed. But thank you!
@@datghettoazn127 >>> _"Late to the party"?_ ME?!
And in OTHER breaking news:
*"SKY BLUE, WATER WET"*
😊😊😊😊
"I was expecting a hard paddle" then walks around the entire island
*still eating the same carrot*
you two are unquestionably a nice couple, kudos to that guys!
Miranda is about the cutest person I’ve ever seen.
I love watching her episodes. She has such a great personality.
What a sweet spot. Wild life sea life and a clean Bath Room! Heck Yeah!!
A raccoon stole my marshmallows off the picnic table on Posey island a million years ago when I camped there with Camp Orkila.
i feel fine... you're boats are floating away! HHHHHAAAAAA. luv it
Another wonderful episode from Mirandaaaa!! I love it!! Her videos are instant classics. I really think she needs her own show on Nickelodeon or Disney+.
Miranda randomly snacking on a whole carrot 😂😂
Snacking Miranda is a whole mood. 😂
What fun! We didn't take our kayaks out at all this year. Good idea for next summer. Thanks for being you!
Thanks for watching, Chanda! 👋 RE: taking out your kayaks, we'd like to encourage you! It's still very early fall, there may still be time for one or two kayak adventures? 🤔😉

I've never seen that split paddle launch technique but hey I like it! Great video guys looks like a lot of fun!
Fun sized park for a fun sized Miranda.
Miranda's personality is so great ahaha What an attractive soul
Now on my list of places to camp thank you.
Have fun! It's a beautiful spot! - Miranda

Do you have to book a campsite ahead of time? Nice to have the island all for yourself.
