Really great video, thanks for the tips. Would be great to hear more thoughts on transient shaping and sidechain - would you recommend using calculus to workout precise release times?

How does Alex di Stefano make does techy drumloops/percussion loops like the ones in his tech effect sample pack .. they seem to have a sense of urgency or energy to them that's hard to replicate .like they're 3/4 time layered with 4/4 or something in that realm . Is he using lfo movent on each sample hit / percussive hit ECT ? Tia

What do you think about the phase issues that carries eqing de low end with low cut? Have you faced this issue before?

I haven't had issues with it myself. With proper monitoring, checking the mix in mono and having a trained ear, it's not a problem, in my opinion and experience. It can be problematic during parallel compression, however, if the low end of the processed signal is filtered incorrectly. There I'd be cautious and always check the mix in mono to hear how the low end respond.

I'm confused, where did you get the kick from? You sampled it from a finished track?

    • @Hypnusrecords

The kick is a sample. I made it when creating the first Aether Mechanics album.

The examples here are made so that you can hear what each step does, rather than focusing on tweaking until it sounds right for this particular example. You may use the methods to fit your sound. Thanks for watching!
