Fixture tables can be had for so cheap, a good one of a decent size is only a few hundred

@@alexelrod242 its the kind of thing where, if you have the money and you are going to do it, it'd be dumb to not just go for a laser cut, flat-pack fab table. As long as you clamp it correctly when welding (spoon could do it in his sleep) it's perfectly level and you can build way more intricate things like custom diff housings on solid axles, custom subframes, you can clamp through the holes in the table and set up any fixture you can think of. Might be a couple k investment but you make your money back the first time you use it by saving having to pay someone else thousands.

Because there's really no rhyme or reason to this thing, aside from Mr Beast, literally studying what people like. Other than that, you just have to hope to get lucky with a viral video or 2. I'm pretty sure LZ just so happened to blow up from the "I did this to my moms car" videos, but Jimmy's channel is better imo. It just is what it is.

My 800hp 2jzge with 264cams fully built is about 7-8k, so I'd say for 1200 is 10+
i would say using new stuff like jimmy is, getting all the nice billet stuff, not to mention all the supporting mods would be more like 30k+ to just outright buy this stuff and pay to have it installed. you can do it way cheaper with patience and skill obviously but to just pay a shop for it i dont think 10k is close, i doubt he paid much less for the 3.4 block alone@@920.streetstyle

fire vid!! Question I'm currently building my 2jz gte non vvti, its a jza80 head. I was wondering if y'all knew what the best head studs to buy? i want to go with the arp head studs but should I get CA625+ head stud kit or the arp undercut head stud kit?

Not talking shish, but if you are going "pro car" level drift build, it would probably be a good idea/investment to get a "pro car" level crew behind you... folks with a good deal of real world mechanical drift experience under their belt(s). Go out and get some legitimate sponsors to make those ends meet and really take this seriously.

5:24 I’ve heard that about 4g63s too, factory mls head gasket and head studs is all you need
A lot of times the factory components are just as strong, if not stronger then aftermarket, people just over do sometimes

I saw a pro car build recently that removed the engine mounts from the front subframe and built brackets on the rails instead. That way when needing to replace the rack or front subframe the engine was already separate. Also i have seen wheel to wheel contact shunt the front suspension and subframe over moving the engine slightly and crushed some wiring and shorted/melting and put them on trailer. Just thought i would spread the minimal knowledge i have 😂

My JDM dream car is an R32 GT-R, and the more I watch different CarTubers, the more I'm turning Australian when it comes to engine setups for it, lmao. I used to be JDM everything (like HKS and/or GReddy), but now I want a fully Aussie-built RB30. Nitto 3.4 bottom end, with a built/ported RB26 head and some lopey Kelford cams and big single Garrett turbo, with the PRP catalog on the outside.
I blame Andrew @Motive Video 🤣🤣🤣🤣. My dream car is basically a copy/paste of his R32, but in "plain" 326 white with some TE37s on it.
Theres 3 jz pans. Just saying. Awd jz have midsump.
Also could of slapped a tomei baffle for the rear sump

Gonna let you all in on big secret. Whenever you see them nice machined billet alu pieces. When you see the machining ,marks there are 3 reasons for that: 1. The speed is set up to just below, Ohhh fuck.... 2. Somebody used a bad tool. 3. somebody said: fuck it, we don't need to make the finishing pass. People are so dumb they just believe it is meant to look like that.... It is NOT..... That water neck was almost machined good(almost) the other parts, not so much.... Had this been in a serious machine shop/fabrication all pieces would come out shining like a diamond in a goats ass..... to sum it up: Machining marks: you been fooled, and sold an unfinished part.....
Shining alu parts: the machinist did his job.

Doesn’t look like you applied any RTV to the cam cap that the cam seal seats into? I’ve seen these weep under the cam caps if you don’t use a dab of Honda Bond or whatever RTV you prefer, and you think the cam seal is leaking.
I love how stressed Jimmy is but still let's Steve thrown some head studs in. Probably one of the most important parts of this assembly. What a legend. I'm sure he went back and double checked his work but still. Such a small gesture really goes a long way
As a fellow jz lover the only correction ill make for the whole video is technically there are 3 pan types because crowns got true mid sump set ups. Only know because i have a 1jzgte swapped into mine 😆 keep up the good work you legend another ling time viewer from australia here

Any updates on the e36 engine ? Are you going to take the 1j from the coupe and put it in that ? Or yiu sticking with the V8 ?
I will say I don’t know that much about 1000+hp engines but everything I’ve seen built lately is being built with oem head gaskets. To me it seems like in most engine building applications an oem head gasket is usually the best bet. Even in the higher hp builds, and once you get to a certain point you start O ringing the block which takes a lot of pressure off the head gasket.
If it makes you feel better, a LS car hasn’t won FD since Dai in 2011. They seem like a reliable engine package but no one uses them beyond grass roots or pro am
are you thinking of using the stock intake like adam's USA Car. The Dyno was pretty telling in the mid range punch
Maybe im just out of the loop, but why dont drift builds use coyotes? you see them everywhere in the drag world, but I dont think ive ever seen a 5.0 pro level build. Does it have something to do with the power delivery? just curious

ive always used PVC pipe to install crank, cam, cv axle and diff seals. cheap and works awesome!
