A 1000 CHF bill! That is awesome! For privacy reasons alone, people should be spending and accepting more cash, not less!
I can’t agree with more.
All the large retailers like Migros and Coop do not even blink when you pay with a thousand franc bill. What might happen is that the cashier shouts over to her neighbor: "Emmaaaa, chasch mer en Tuusiger wechsle?", handing the bill to the client to pass it over to the other cashier in return for 10 hundred bill notes, via the client again of course :)
That’s wonderful. No wonder Switzerland is wealthy. No blinking while accepting a large denomination bill is a symbolic sign of vibrant commerce. I love this fact about Switzerland.
Some gas stations in Germany refuse to take 200€ and 500€ bills. I don't understand why, they should be happy getting rid of all the 50€ and 100€ bills accumulating in the register.
Could probably use it at a electronics store buying a a expensive device or a bill in a government office like utilities or property tax. Other than that the only other use I can think of is for emergency cash in a safe.
pretty sure they'd accept it in a Gucci store or smth …
Yeah because finding an item under 300-400 chf is impossible
Use it to buy cars, laptops, smartphones, .. ..
Nope... 20000 CHF is enough to buy cars...
Drugs
Es freut mich zu sehen, dass unser Euro auch in der Schweiz akzeptiert wird.
One speaks French the other German lol. I speak Cantonese to my wife, she speaks English back. People go WTF.
It happens all the time in Star Wars lol
Hi gumtree coins and banknotes very nice channel pls sub tio mine
It's a scheme video. I am sure.
@@KDErkisi *pleased wookie noises*
and when they go to the café, the girl speaks German to the bartender what logic is that :D
Previously at Malaysia, we have RM 1000 and RM 500 banknote as biggest legal circulation until 1999 after BNM withdrawn it from market.
yes. 1,000 chf = RM 5,300
Go to Zurich, you can buy a Big Mac with that much
😂
This is old Banknote, now the new 1000 Francs is a Beautiful Style.
That's not as you claim in the description the newly designed 1000 franc note, it's an old one. It's from 1998.
large valued notes are silly for shop staffers to give them change
Last india name on the top when they tell we have still this bill anybody noticed
Of course the chestnut booth or a small bookstore can't give 990 back. Try supermarkets or gas stations! 100 bills should accumulate there.
Just buy stuff that actually is worth closer to 1000 bucks.
It's immensely useful in buying used cars, for example. Buy something worth 950, they'll gladly accept the 1000.
I mean Switzerland's already cool in the way that you can easily pay everywhere with a 200.
We used to have ₹ 2000 notes in India as well, but they have been discontinued since September 2023. Announcement was made for the same in May itself, so that people possessing such notes can get it exchanged in banks. Don't know whether 1000 CHF is still in circulation in Switzerland or not, despite considering that CHF is much stronger than INR.
1000 CHF is almost ₹1,00,000. You can't compare those two notes together.

I am going to travel to Switzerland soon and would like to take a 1000 franc note home as a souvenir. Do you think that an ordinary bank would exchange 10 notes for 100 francs into 1 note for 1000 francs if I ask them politely?
Yes but that 1000 francs it’s like 1112.35$ or 898£ 1035€
You should go to the supermarket and show us how many chickens you can buy with it. Maybe half a ton? 😂
Why don’t you try to do grocery shopping good for 5 persons for a 2 weeks of food supplies let’s see if they have change for that as well
Or go shop basic needs in Liechtenstein 🇱🇮
Really similar to venezuelan bolivar
The dude in the stall didnt like it...! No surprises there!
Although, i bought new tyres the other day, cost me $1000 bucks, it wouldve been nice to have a 1000 note instead of 10 x 100s...
Are they speaking Swiss-German and Swiss-French respectively?
I can't tell Swiss-French and French-French apart, but the dude is speaking Swiss-German
@@TheBlueye13 but one of them is for sure speaking a dialect of French, right?
@@pieterwillembotha6719 As a native French speaker, Swiss French is almost the same as Standard French. I perfectly understood the lady. Swiss German on the other hand is way different from Standard German. Germans from the north will have a hard time understanding German-speaking Swiss people.
Why didn't you stay at fairly expensive hotel and pay for it with this ? Or possible a rental car ?
In my country (Indonesia), the biggest note is 100.000 rupiah/ 6,41 francs. So, what can it be bought with that amount? 😆
Kita butuh pecahan Rp. 1.000.000 kayaknya 😂
Gampang aja kalo mau kayak gitu... Tinggal suruh Bank sentral kita cetak pecahan 10 juta rupiah dalam 1 Lembar... Ntar keliatan keren
Seratus ribu rupiah haha nice :D
1000/- fr = 17,400,000 rupiah
when i was just cleaning in the rooftop i saw my old wallet and i open it up and i found 1,000 franc and the year is 2002 i dont know if they could still accept it
Thanks for your comment, what a lucky surprise! You might find the answer in our article here www.swissinfo.ch/eng/valuable-currency_time-limit-to-exchange-old-banknotes-eliminated/45366754#:~:text=The%20Swiss%20National%20Bank%20(SNB,as%20a%20means%20of%20payment.

Here in Holland the shops don’t even accept a 200 euro note.
Oh shit really? €200 isn’t so much cash. But if you buy something with higher value like electronics or clothes you can use €200 and bin ladens yeah?
If you buy anything over 100 euro’s in de Netherlands, you must pay with a bank card. The government has a policy of banning cash money.
@@abdellahajja9659What the fuck? What’s wrong with this country, what a fucking asholes sit in this governament. It’s just terrorizing own citezens
@Abdellah Ajja but not everyone has bank account and most people can't afford to have 1
This is illegal. Shops are not allowed to refuse the acceptance of a legal tender. They may only refuse it when the relation between the purchase price and the bank note is disproportional. That is the case in Germany, and I assume that it might be the same in Holland.
They are talking to each other in 2 Different languages. Only in Switzerland I guess
Well , common sense if you buy small items not very expensive they won't accept it as they are small businesses which don't have a lot of cash on hand . Like buying from my small store I used to have with a $1000 dollar bill .for a couple sodas and chips .. gotta be careful a lotta scams going on . Even in a large convenience store chain in the USA would not accept such a large note even a $100 . BUT iif staying in fairly expensive hotel each night costing hundreds of euros / dollars ..
Ok mais ou trouver ce billet ?
WILLY_WIN 24 aux banques normalement, c’est presque impossible de le voir en circulation comme ça
Ok mais les banques son moins regardant que en France ? En France falais les commander... Au casino a Bâle il en ont ?
Ah, a myth then. I heard you could take a 1k note anywhere and you'd be good to go. This video is what I expected though honestly.
Well, not quite a myth. They've chosen very small shops and very small amounts to pay in this video. If you buy something that costs a few 100 CHF, you can certainly pay with an 1k note, and also, as others mentioned, in larger shops and supermarkt chains - no problem, even if you only buy some groceries.
@@RealGestumblindi I've been in Switzerland for some time now and I've had the exact experience with 1k notes as you've described. Once it's a store where the total comes out to (at a normal functional minimum) around 300-400 CHF, they seem to not care.
Smaller shops that tend to deal in, arbitrarily 5-50 CHF amounts often tend not to just be able to change out 1k.
@@SkLLzDaTkLLs it makes sense. Who would pay with a 1k note if its just a small amount of 5-50chf
10 CHF received
lol people in Swiss accepts Euros.
for the 1'000-franc matter, *y u no issuing 500-franc?!*
they don't accept Euros unless your really close to the borders
oh
@@ansaipaoloricciardi2672 i think everyone except euros but with a realy bad exchange rate. 1:1 Also at a time where it would have been 1:1,50 but the Euro is falling anyway
Loved by eastern european gangsters....as was the old 1000 dutch guilder note in the 70s
Ach kommt schon geht doch einfach zu Louis Vuitton sollte, dort kein Problem sein 🤷🏻♂️
If only they had accepted the bill and returned the change with all coins :D
1:09 Das Kapital was written by Marx. Thomas should've chosen a better name for his book. You don't write a book and then name it ""The Bible" or "Mein Kampf" 'cause the title has a strong association to a specific work.

Imagine just finding one random on the street
My father was working in Switzerland in 2017 and found a purse with about 7,000 Swiss Francs, multiple bank/credit cards and also an ID documents in it. He took the purse to the local police station and about half an hour later the woman who's purse it was found and contacted by the police. She was so happy to get her purse back and that nothing was missing that she gave my dad one of the 1000 swiss franc notes she had in the purse as a reward. He still has it and says he will never spend it.
It's so valuable that nobody wants it !
😂😂😂 expected they won’t have change for that why don’t try to buy more expensive ones like a Swiss watches or a necktie from Louis Vuitton buy an iPhone using the note/bill lets see if they accept it
You both went to the wrong place to buy the wrong things
Thank you Universe
Thank you money

Did you try buying heroin with it?
Its not important note give it to me :D
Dasselbe bei uns in der BRD mit dem 500er.
The new notes look awful. Whenever I go to another country, I always keep some currency notes with me as a form of remembrance.
Anyway I love Switzerland and wishing to come back again.
They are hybrid ... they look nice, multicolored like the older ones. I still like more the older bills .
Your brain face look awful
And you think you have problems.

I would love to see your faces when you go buy a car or furniture, can you afford to pay in cash..
Gave this a dislike 👎 due to the fact they don't speak English.
