The restart button was on the first week of season 1 of fortnite festival, and after that it's gone. So they have done it before, but then removed it for some reason or another.
I wish they would animate the crowds better along with introducing more characters for variety, and for god's sake adjust the way the band is animated too it's weird to watch james hetfield dance awkwardly like a male stripper lmao

Glad we are getting the restart button confirmed, but a practice mode should be one of the next major additions to the game. I'd also like to be able to play at previous venues in the game (or at random), and change out the bandmates to whatever skins I own when I play solo. I might not want to play as Vegeta every time I play, but having him as my stand-in singer when I'm Goku on Lead would be really fun. Plus, I'm tired of seeing the same 5-6 Fortnite skins playing with me, there's only so much of that creepy unicorn I can take. They've been adding more animations over time, but I also want some more camera angles like we had in Guitar Hero and maybe even some of the camera effects like we saw in a few Rock Bands. The stages have all been reskins of the same stage, so I'd also love to see (in future season since this upcoming season is also just a reskin) some more variety in the stage design. Make each band member further apart on some intricate platforms, or keep them all close on one like a traditional stage. Maybe make a runway with the singer at the end, while the bass and lead players stay on the sides and drums up in the back. I don't need some of the crazy stuff that we saw in some of the later Guitar Heroes like an Ice Fortress or playing on the back of a Robo-Titan, simple yet uniquely different stages to change the visuals up.
The first 3 stages were definitely reskins but not anymore. The Metallica one was obviously a massive redesign and the Karol G stage is also a massive redesign. This'll probably be how future seasons will be as well since they extended the time from 9 weeks to 11 weeks so it matches the time frame of a the regular BR season.
My biggest complaint with this season and Festival overall is how damn expensive the Jam Tracks are... like seriously lmao 5 dollars for 1 song is ridiculous... the fact you can't even play the full song in Battle Royale is what really bothers me. I'm paying 5 dollars for a song and I can only play a certain instrument on a 20-30 second loop... 💀

Being able to set a lobby track does not make it worth 5 bucks. Rock Band 3 DLC for 2 bucks got you multiple different instruments with 1 more buck getting you pro guitars. Its a really bad offer to what we had in comparison.

My main complaint about Battle Stage is that so many people disconnect that the match is pointless because all of us qualify by default. I’ve had 5 person matches with 1 DC, 6 person matches with 2 DCs, even 10 person matches with 2 DCs.
0:47 for me it feels like hammer-ons and pull-offs just don't register sometimes seemingly for no reason. it could be the confusing calibration system which i feel i still haven't figured out yet despite messing with it numerous times but idk. i'd be willing to accept it just being a skill issue if i at least had the ability to practice certain sections of songs : \

the game did let you restart songs back in season 1 but it was removed cause it was bugged, its back for season 5 though and you can now restart after finishing too which is nice
they should make the festival pass have like 3 or four bands/artists at a time, so it would appeal to more people and be a real festival. + 1800 vbucks for a bunch of stuff were not going to use and skins of an artist few people know/like isnt a good deal for both players and epic. one artist per pass limits everything epic can use to sell more also we should be able to vote for songs on battle stage, its not a real music battle if i spend 3 or 4 minutes playing the same 3 notes on a reggaeton song + as you said the stage gets boring after like 2 or 3 songs, but thats not all. its fucking empty. theres like 7 skins as "crowd". even if they used ctrl c ctrl v pngs like gh3 did it would look better
the most annoying thing about fortnite festival for me is the timing. i dunno what it is, but it feels like no matter how much i mess with the video/audio offset or controller latency it just doesn’t feel right, especially with some settings feeling more natural with certain songs than others. i wish they had a better calibration system too because that never helps.
I do like the various genres they have Incorporated into Festival so far. R&B with Season 1, Pop with Season 2, Alt Pop For Season 3, Metal for Season 4, and Reggaeton foe Season 5. That being said I am so not interested in the Icon this season tho she is a good excuse to put more Latin hits into the game, hopefully more than just Reggaeton. But because of this I have no insensitive to play this Festival Season outside of whatever weekly tracks we get. I am definitely much more excited for next season tho.
Although I don't routinely listen to Metallica, the pass they got was an insanely good deal compared to those previous and after. 4 skins and then some for 1.8k v-bucks is practically a steal. I hope they do future passes for bands and keep up this new precedent instead of just one artist. If they bring older bands for the passes I would be delighted. Queen, ABBA, Boney M., ELO, etc. As is, festival is fine. The battle stage was a novel idea, but you end up in a loop in how to use overdrive and the instrument score differential is lessened, but still an issue. Picking songs is also an issue. I wish you could see more songs and not have to scroll, and having to adjust your instrument in the lobby and then going into the selection screen to see your previous scores (if you have any) is very tedious.
I believe the Metalica season is by far my favorite we have had. It really hit close to home with the song choices they have made as I am a person who grew up playing Guitar hero and Rock Band. Im really enjoying festival, but I wish there was more for what you can do, mainly in the battle stage. it would be cool if there was like a "Battle of the bands" type thing where it is similar to battle stage, but its 2 or more full bands. I also wish there was more customization you could do, like change board design, or maybe the note colors. Maybe have theme color palette sets and bring back being able to see other players note boards like we could in Rock Band! One more change I would make is the color of the overdrive. I use the pro-colors on controller because they help me decipher which note is which due to me being visually impaired and the yellow overdrive makes it hard to see the end notes, especially the orange notes, but its mainly a nit-pick of mine. The new season stage is honestly very nice looking. Its just very magical, even though I have no idea who Karol G is, at least the ashetic is good lol.
when you do 6 seasons in don't forget to mention the lag in season 5!!!!!! i do not know why but all of a sudden the frames just decide to not cap at 60 anymore and always will drop randomly to 50 or slightly below, this is for older consoles like ps4 only im pretty sure and it really isn't fun.
The not-so-subtle Apple roast was too good. 😂😂 For real though, Apple is not good quality. Like, how dare they charge so much for so little. I can spend maybe just $1000 on a PC with Windows, and hell, even just install Linux on it if I don't want Windows (I just use Windows the most for compatibility reasons), and get much more out of it. You might not even have to spend that much. I don't know about the raw performance level of a $4k Mac compared to an equivalent Windows PC so take what I said lightly. I completely agree. People might say I'm biased too, since I'm more of a hard rock and metal fan, but I genuinely think this Festival season was the best and it will not be topped. Pop and rap songs are just not fun to play, and I just don't like those genres anyway. It seems...generic, and repetitive. YES!!!!!! Why is there no restart button?? Even a practice mode where you can go to a point in the song you keep messing up on and just practice that. I can't tell you how many Metallica songs I've gotten 99% on and so close to 100%. There's so many songs where there's just one...single...part that I keep messing up on, and I keep having to play the whole song just to get to that point, forget what it is and just mess up again. Then the nervousness of getting to that part makes me mess up on parts I normally don't mess up on. This is my first rhythm game too. Hey, the person who charted Sabotage might be sad now. :(
Don't know if its placebo but this new season finally pro lead and pro bass feel smooth to play in, like im not constantly fighting the calibration anymore. I'm definitely playing it a lot more but good lord give us more fun tracks lmao, I understand pop and rap are popular but lets be real they are often not the most fun to play on lead.
The one change I don’t like is the new prestige instrument system. I just used to play until I finished the season pass. Now I’m playing not because I want to, but to grind out the cool instrument styles. Now it feels like a chore.

Season 4 is by far he best season so far they added fun and challenging tracks to play to the game and song choices were great every week just wish they had master of puppets in rotation more
There is something I'd like to see in Festival mode Whenever i play, all the characters are just standing in the same place, it feels a bit bland I thought it would be nice to see a sort of band mode where the characters are bit more "cinematic" like the guitar hero games I've seen recommended to me recently *that's the best i can explain it*
One of my biggest complaints is the uncertainty when it comes to swearing, both basket case and what's my age again feature swear words, however songs like humble cant use the same words that what's my age again uses, its most likely due to the songs' releases, yet it still feels rather odd
My main complaint is that the cosmetics for festival are lack luster with weird design or theme choices for instruments and its been awhile since the fender collab but I would like to have more guitar options to realistic ones but yeah. Also festival season 5 is mid.
Honestly festival works great. I just wish it was more focused on rock/metal. Really sucks seeing so much pop music thrown in tbh especially as a long time guitar hero/rock band player
I’m pretty happy overall with fortnite fest, I always find myself coming back to it. Even more the BR sometimes. But yeah there are a lot of flaws needing to be ironed out. I don't mind Karol G being in tbh. Epic's trying to bring everything to everyone, and bringing non-english icons, characters, and music into the game really brings a light onto them. Plus, I didn't really like The Weeknd or Billie Eilish before I started playing this game, and now I'm okay with them. I fully expect Karol's music to grow on me as the season progresses as well.
Am I the only one here that has problems with the calibration system? The second I move the audio calibration, the perfect hit window moves for some reason. It feels like audio and video do the same thing for some reason
Basically... (As far as I understand) Audio offset is for visible notes Video offset is for in game timing window Do 1st part of the calibration, then exit out. Video offset calibration just str8 up doesn't work (duh) Instead, set it to the same value as i got in audio, and adjust video offset until u start feeling like getting perfects is not a chore :| That is a shortened up version I got out of hours of tweaking and yt tutorials... I rly care about festival, I dunno how a rhythm game, going into it's 5th season, can have so broken and convoluted setup system And why is it 5ms jumps when I can clearly feel that I need like 2-3 ms diffrence ;-;

There is no way to restart the Song because it is an always-online game and you cant practice when you have a whole squad or maybe make it a solo-only mode
I don't know if it's just me but they still haven't fixed the long notes "missing" when you let go of spacebar after activation overdrive. It's been 4 seasons and I guess to add something positive give us DragonForce for festival :)
I hate how the animations are just a handful of animations for every song. It just feels so lifeless. It felt like some stockholder said "Hey, you guys, put guitar hero in your game and charge 5 bucks per song, it would make me- I mean us so much money." I'm not asking for unique mocap animations like its GH: Metallica, but for the love of god stop having James headbang like a maniac while playing "Nothing Else Matters." At least have your soulless preset animations fit the song that's being played
I think it's neat that they're doing a more niche international artist but it really feels like Karol G should have been like, a half season type deal. She is the only festival skin to not get an item shop skin too.

Being a RB3 Deluxe and Yarg player, Festival feels like absolute ass. I feel like the stress of running fortnite in the background messes with sync. Aside from that, it just feels bad. I cant get calibration right and the theme is ugly.

It’s tough… the passes suck I want more out of the paid pass like at least 2 good aura. I’m not interested in Karol G or snoop. Every week they release trash pop songs to pander instead of song people that work will buy. We fought hard to get the animations back but we need more animations. I know they poured a lot into the concert which was great but need alot to carry Karol. Gaga needed a carry. Metallica saved the mode but epic is dropping the ball
I don't use any third party software for my Arduino guitar, I'm able to plug it in and map it like a normal controller, but your results may vary depending on what model you have

For real though, Apple is not good quality. Like, how dare they charge so much for so little. I can spend maybe just $1000 on a PC with Windows, and hell, even just install Linux on it if I don't want Windows (I just use Windows the most for compatibility reasons), and get much more out of it. You might not even have to spend that much. I don't know about the raw performance level of a $4k Mac compared to an equivalent Windows PC so take what I said lightly.
I completely agree. People might say I'm biased too, since I'm more of a hard rock and metal fan, but I genuinely think this Festival season was the best and it will not be topped. Pop and rap songs are just not fun to play, and I just don't like those genres anyway. It seems...generic, and repetitive.
YES!!!!!! Why is there no restart button?? Even a practice mode where you can go to a point in the song you keep messing up on and just practice that. I can't tell you how many Metallica songs I've gotten 99% on and so close to 100%. There's so many songs where there's just one...single...part that I keep messing up on, and I keep having to play the whole song just to get to that point, forget what it is and just mess up again. Then the nervousness of getting to that part makes me mess up on parts I normally don't mess up on. This is my first rhythm game too.

Don't know if its placebo but this new season finally pro lead and pro bass feel smooth to play in, like im not constantly fighting the calibration anymore. I'm definitely playing it a lot more but good lord give us more fun tracks lmao, I understand pop and rap are popular but lets be real they are often not the most fun to play on lead.
The one change I don’t like is the new prestige instrument system. I just used to play until I finished the season pass. Now I’m playing not because I want to, but to grind out the cool instrument styles. Now it feels like a chore.
A restart button was in the original festival but there were streaming problems where you get kicked to lobby so they removed it trying to fix the streaming situation

There is something I'd like to see in Festival mode
Whenever i play, all the characters are just standing in the same place, it feels a bit bland
I thought it would be nice to see a sort of band mode where the characters are bit more "cinematic" like the guitar hero games I've seen recommended to me recently

One of my biggest complaints is the uncertainty when it comes to swearing, both basket case and what's my age again feature swear words, however songs like humble cant use the same words that what's my age again uses, its most likely due to the songs' releases, yet it still feels rather odd

My main complaint is that the cosmetics for festival are lack luster with weird design or theme choices for instruments and its been awhile since the fender collab but I would like to have more guitar options to realistic ones but yeah. Also festival season 5 is mid.

I’m pretty happy overall with fortnite fest, I always find myself coming back to it. Even more the BR sometimes.
But yeah there are a lot of flaws needing to be ironed out.

I don't mind Karol G being in tbh. Epic's trying to bring everything to everyone, and bringing non-english icons, characters, and music into the game really brings a light onto them.
Plus, I didn't really like The Weeknd or Billie Eilish before I started playing this game, and now I'm okay with them. I fully expect Karol's music to grow on me as the season progresses as well.

Am I the only one here that has problems with the calibration system? The second I move the audio calibration, the perfect hit window moves for some reason. It feels like audio and video do the same thing for some reason
i've heard a lot of people with the same complaint! they need to introduce a more robust calibration system
Basically... (As far as I understand)
Audio offset is for visible notes
Video offset is for in game timing window
Do 1st part of the calibration, then exit out.
Video offset calibration just str8 up doesn't work (duh)
Instead, set it to the same value as i got in audio, and adjust video offset until u start feeling like getting perfects is not a chore :|

I hate how the animations are just a handful of animations for every song. It just feels so lifeless. It felt like some stockholder said "Hey, you guys, put guitar hero in your game and charge 5 bucks per song, it would make me- I mean us so much money." I'm not asking for unique mocap animations like its GH: Metallica, but for the love of god stop having James headbang like a maniac while playing "Nothing Else Matters." At least have your soulless preset animations fit the song that's being played
I think it's neat that they're doing a more niche international artist but it really feels like Karol G should have been like, a half season type deal. She is the only festival skin to not get an item shop skin too.

Being a RB3 Deluxe and Yarg player, Festival feels like absolute ass. I feel like the stress of running fortnite in the background messes with sync. Aside from that, it just feels bad. I cant get calibration right and the theme is ugly.

Every week they release trash pop songs to pander instead of song people that work will buy. We fought hard to get the animations back but we need more animations. I know they poured a lot into the concert which was great but need alot to carry Karol. Gaga needed a carry. Metallica saved the mode but epic is dropping the ball

I don't use any third party software for my Arduino guitar, I'm able to plug it in and map it like a normal controller, but your results may vary depending on what model you have

I'm the complete opposite, I feel like almost all gh3 tracks are the same or feel pretty similar... Festival definitely has some questionable but mostly accurate tracks.
