Hi there, Thanks for adding your video, what a nice way to learn about a place by walking through it. We make gopro walk of soulful cities too, so it's especially interesting to us to see others offering beautiful places to the world and doing it so well. Thank you again.

Why do you walk on the street and not on the pavement? This is what annoys us about tourists who think this is a open air museum . Follow the safety rules.

Belgium is a country of around 11 million with about 800,000 muslims. Soon Belgium with be a country with a majority islamic population. Belgium will be an Islamic State by 2060 due to the Islamic Political party of Belgium and the so called "progressive" politics of the Belgians.

it really isn't any more boring than our neighbours, generally you don't go to central Bruges for partying
Ghent on the other hand is also a very historical city, with similar heritage and architecture, but with a university, which means a lot of partying going on there, (i study there myself)
it is very safe though, exept for some places in Brussels, which makes it very calm,
also, what can you do in a regional city in France, Germany, … less than you could in most flemish cities of similar size
(yeah sure Berlin is known for it's wild parties and amsterdam for it's leniancy on weed)

It's a medieval city. How can it be built on Congo wealth?! Congo was a colony in the 19th century. There, you've learned something.

      history student here
1 the atrocities, you know the cutting of hands and so on, that was done under freestate Congo, which was a private possesion of Leopold II
He used the wealth he got from it to build palaces for himself and some monuments in Brussels, but it was not used for Bruges or any public works outside of royal properties or prestige works in Brussels
2 in 1908, due to international but mostly internal pressure, Leopold surrendered his colony to the Belgian state and it was from then on known as Belgian Congo,
the first thing they did was split the treasuries, then they built massive infrastructure, created decent schooling, and so on and so forth, it was the gem of africa in a relatively short time, people there were defacto still considdered like lower class than the white minority, but their lives were better than ever before, or since
after independence was gained in the middle of the cold war, it did not take long for shit to hit the fan, Lumumba was the first prime minister, he was a socialist, which was allready seen as problematic by the americans, since congo holds the biggest uranium deposits on earth, in fact uranium from the Katanga region was used for both nuclear bombs that were dropped on japan
when he started to get closer and closer to the soviets, the americans and the Belgian secret service aided in the removal of lumumba and a coup which was meant to make Katanga independent as zaire, but ended up with all of former Belgian congo becoming zaire,
anyway, everything went to shit when they gained independence, including several civil wars and Multi national wars fought in Congo, making it one of the poorest countries in africa today, whilst it was at the very top under Belgian congo,
my point is that nothing you see there, is built with anything from Congo, but Belgium was the first european country to industrialise, and it was incredibly wealthy, in fact it was as wealthy as Germany during the 1830s
oh also, the flemish people were themselves second class citizens until 1968, longer than the congo colonies was in Belgian hands
