Being the first in a technological race is not necessarily the winning formula. Learning from the first, then beating it, is more lucrative in the tech world.
A key difference is China's AI is now open source, whereas US AI is developed by multibillionaire/oligarchs and the profits are privatised. If it wasn't for China's development and innovation, you would all be dependent on the US, and they will for certain wield their technology and finance as geopolitical weapons against all countries. For India, your question should be why is India not developing its AI in the manner China has done? You are not short of engineers! Every tech company in the West has an army of Indians. There are countless Indian professionals working in West Asia. With so much potential, why is India not harvesting them to build India's own tech giants - like China has - so India is tech sovereign?
The problem is that many top Chinese scientists go to serve the motherland. The problem with the India scientists staying in the West, reason, there is no job in India for them.

To Openai, Deepseek is like Karma.
Being an Indian, I feel glad for China's development. It's not about the jealousy over US, but dominance of a single country or few companies of the same country over something will never be beneficial for common people or underdeveloped countries. Additionally, being an Indian I also feel like, we shouldn't be a fool like one of our neighboring countries, keeping border disputes as the single most important priorities and forgetting everything else till the time when it's LATE to even REGRET. India should be and to some extent it is, smart enough to take the benefits of all the good things happening around and tries to bring the best out of them for our benefits.
Sounds biased journalism. China is getting more innovative. No more copying. China is now way ahead than any other country in energy, EV, infrastructure, manufacturing as well as AI. One should focus on building their people rather than complaining.
Dear Ms Sharma, you got the very point: who can do more with less. This is why India can not take over the position of China in the manufacturing sector even US has been trying hard to do so. USA = Develop AI Model
China = Develop AI model
India = Develop Maha Kumbh Mela model
@@AeonMusicRecord
Usa = Buy evryone to make it
China = copy

So Hinduism is everything that is wrong with India?
You are right. India's model of Kumbh is for seeking liberation/becoming one with our creator. China and the USA are going to cause human extinction by advancements in AI. It's dangerous technology and can go either way, one way is ending humanity. What good has come out of facebook, X, Instagram etc for the coming generation???
AI or no AI, everyone dies. Go take a dip!
@@suryadevararao1795@suryadevararao1795 At least indians are not giving future generations a living hell full of social media apps and AI. Stupid, simple, peaceful, rural life is much better than living on your phone. I have taken that dip and seen the USA as well. You give this mela a try. maybe your opinion will change.
Huawei's AI model had been in use in industries, weather prediction, car driving and many other areas for yrs, way before the chatgpt thing came out.
让人才回归要做的事情可太多了,哪有动动嘴皮轻松哈。
Openai was supposed to be open Source. It's even in the name, but they got greedy. Many engineers left after realizing that they used free content online to develop ChatGPT, but the company now wanted to charge users, and directly competing against many platforms that provided free information. One of the people central in developing chatGPT, Suchir Balaji, 26-year old, went ahead to sue Openai for copyright infringement, but was murdered in Nov 2024 before he was placed in witness protection.

India has to find a new path to grow and develop. I believe there are plenty of paths on which India can succeed. But, beating China is not the path for India to succeed.
Story of every nation that climbs the ladder. You think the US is saying something different about China? 😂
@@PeterLam-ru9fp Chinese don't care what people say. Chinese just pay attention to and focus on what Chinese should do.
When farmers are working in the fields, there always crickets making loud noises. Farmers just ignore the noises and focus on their job. If farmers are bothered by the noises crickets made, farmers cannot do their job at all.
@ Yeah no, this comment section itself is proof that your statement is wrong lol. They care a LOT. India, too has done more with less. For example, sending an orbiter to mars with a budget that could be considered peanuts when compared to US and china. Not to mention, the recent moon south pole landing.
Of course, you close your eyes to that and focus on your own achievements so obviously you will be great 🤣. Don't let me come in between your great feeling though.
@@PeterLam-ru9fp My friend, you are really mistaking me. I type some comments here doesn't mean I care about what Ms Sharma saying. I just did it due to I was in a mood for not doing anything and squander my time. I believe those people who are working hard would never spend a second here.
@ Oh! Now it has changed from chinese people to 'some chinese people'. 😂 I provided the counter because you were making a blanket statement. Besides its not just you, like I said, 'this comment section' not just your comment.

Why are you so anti Hindu ?
How do you know that the govt is not promoting AI?
Not anti Hindu at all but this obsession with religious practices will keep India in poverty forever
@ because I run AI business & there is not a single Indian LLM model that’s used worldwide, making some app is not AI
In light of everything China has accomplished, India is running out of excuses for what they can't do
One thing that I admire about our asian counterpart is how dedicated and hard working they are. They face a problem, address it and then try to improve.Meanwhile us desis (Pakistan,Bangladesh,India) are on denial about our shortcomings ,coupled with over-patriotic sentiments, and never improve ourselves. The only thing we are good at is fighting over religion and reminiscing how "great" our past once upon a time.At best,we come up with crazy conspiracy theories that all latest technologies are somehow written in holy books and then fight over whose holy book is better than the other.
The China has set an example of their determination, hard work and their commitment to AI and technology. It is a long journey. USA is trying to contain china and I think that if china will be able to develop cost efficient and highly performant AI technology. This is will totally change the game and hurt USA more than they could imagined. All investor, engineers, businesses, corporate world and the government will invest their resources and money into Chinese firm. The USA hardware market will also suffer because the Chinese based AI technologies will not USA. Only few more setbacks then USA AI based firm will crashed exponentially.

Adversity is the biggest advantage. Chinese are really smart and hard working people. India has a lot of talent but unfortunately our tech companies are not willing to tap in to that opportunity. Our tech companies are spending money on service model with an aim for short term returns. We need to spend more on R&D and it should start at university level.
Indian people are smart people, the only thing holding them back is colonial mindset.
India’s elite class still has a colonialism mindset, too busy pleasing its white masters parroting the colonizers’ narrative, unconsciously or consciously, it is a huge problem.

The history Bollywood won’t tell you:1. Around 1500 BC, the Aryans entered colonial India from the Khyber Pass and created the caste system; 2. At the end of the 6th century BC, the Persians defeated the Aryans and began to colonize India; 3. In 327 BC, the Macedonians Colonize India; 4. Beginning in the early 2nd century BC, Bactrian Greeks, Cypriots and Parthians invaded India; 5. In the 2nd century BC, the Yuezhi people who nomadically lived in the Hexi Corridor invaded India; 6. In the middle of the 1st century AD , the Kushan Xihou Tribe, one of the five Xihous of the Dayue clan, unified the five tribes and invaded India to establish the Kushan Empire; 7. In the 5th century AD, the descendants of the Central Asian Ser race and the Dayue clan of the Han Dynasty colonized India; 8 , from the 7th century AD, peoples dominated by Islamic culture began to invade India continuously; 9. In the 8th century AD, the Arab Empire occupied India; 10. In the 11th century AD, the Islamic Turks invaded India; 11. In 1526, the Mongols Colonized India and established the Mughal Empire; 12, the British...There is no India in the world, only colonies of the British Empire. India is the longest colonized region in the world, having been colonized for more than 2,800 years. Most Indians don’t even know where they are from when they look in the mirror. After the British left, they left behind beggars on the streets
I can't get mad at single thing you have mentioned because you are right. We have always been weak. Our caste system divides society and cripples a proportion of its population like it always has. India have so many top talent working for American and other foreign companies but what happen to us? Why are we lagging so much in the tech race not just in AI despite the number of talent we have! We can't just keep making excuses that US and China have more budget to invest than us, well that's true to an extend but that's not the whole story here. Our tech companies are too short sighted, too short-term profit driven, not willing to take risk and not competitive enough.
