Hello! Maltease would have a long/silky coat usually and lack undercoat but they still tend to need daily brushing. One of my pups is crossed with a maltese and I find he needs daily brushing as his coat can easily tangle when its long. Using a slicker brush and comb is perfect! I hope this helped. Thank-you so much, Alice Louise :)
Hi! I am having trouble with my dogs feet and chest. I live in Canada and she wears boots and a jacket for her walk. I think the rubbing from her jacket and her boots is causing intense matting. Even with daily brushings, she is still getting on matted. Would a leave in conditioner be effective for this ? If yes, do you have a go to brand for a doodle coat ?
Great video can you please do a video on preventing Matt's and combing and brushing a Shihtzu. I am struggling to take care of my Baby Girl. Please help me make her life better.
Absolutely i will pop this on my list. Have you got yourself a slicker brush and a comb? As I would say that daily brushing with both of those is a must. Especially if you keep the hair long x
Can you please tell me anything specific to Bichon Frisée? My dog really doesn’t like to be combed, but his matting is atrocious. (His hair is super curly)
Hello! So sorry, I have only just seen this message. and yes so when they get to the 'point of no return' and he is really matted then I would say he would need to be shaved down in order to start again. Then you can focus on brushing every single day and using a slicker brush and comb. When you comb make sure to get right into the coat next to the skin. if you come across a matt then you can either tease it out or use a detangle spray to avoid it getting worse. Goodluck! X
Hello! Thank you this great video, I have a beagle and a boxer, so we never need to worry about that. BUT recently, we rescued a beagle/poodle mix: a poogle. There is barely any information out there about his fur. Its not curly, but its pretty long. Will his hair get matted if its not combed daily? I will try to attach a photo, he is just the cutest dog ever. I want to keep him happy and healthy!
Oh my goodness SO cute! I would say that because of the beagle part that you wont need to groom daily but I would say that if you like it left quite long then try and get into the habit of weekly bushing etc just to keep any potential knots at bay. I love the idea of a beagle poodle mix, I bet he is adorable! xx
A shitzu would need brushing each day and I would use a slicker brush and metal tooth comb. If the coat is long then brush and comb with the coat but if shorter you can brush against the grain and comb with :) . Have a lovely day and thankyou for watching! xx
All pooches will tend to move around quite a bit so my advice is to get someone else to help you. Maybe they can hold a treat and let your dog nibble at it or alternatively you could buy a lick mat and pop dog friendly peanut butter on it! Alternatively if it is a real issue then maybe check out what your local dog behaviourist thinks. Thank-you for watching! x
Would a Maltese fall under this category?

@@AliceLouise I just bought some detangling spray and we shaved his hair for the spring, so I’ll try this. Thank you ☺️
My bichon is like this too, I'm going to shave her down and start again!
Any advice for the Bolognese Breed?

I don’t think I can add a picture. He’s almost like the first pic, you popped up, but the hair isn’t as curly.
