- Tories worry the loss of the Chesham and Amersham seat could be due to the PM's planning reforms.
Areas along the green belt fear government plans to automatically green light development projects without allowing local residents an opportunity to object.
Sky's Paul Kelso spoke with some residents in Chesham and Amersham to hear their concerns.

Housing and farming are only industries we have tbh . They have thrown fishing and science under the bus . But our quality of life is going
LIB DEM SURGE
😛😜😝🤯🤯🤯💥💥💥
@The Rockall Times and why not ehhhhhhhhhhh
Tories being lying, stealing cheats didn’t help matters
Nothing to do with the new normal authoritarianism.
Ha ha exactly why boris is killing farms
Interviewing people who don't live in the constituency and so had no say in who was voted in and why.
They won’t be building homes anywhere because there are no products to build with. My company can not get cement or insulation for love or money.
I hear sand is running out. The sand in the Sahara ain't no good
@@robertbones326 builders prefer Leighton buzzard sand as it’s got a more orange colour. And it’s a bit closer
I'm no Boris fan but these people just sound like NIMBYs and unfortunately those sought people don't help anyone. I understand why they think it will overwhelm services but more people will mean more police and doctors are recruited and new bussnesses will open up to service people. Simple supply and demand
I used to live in a beautiful village in the Chilterns near Amersham where they are building the HS2. It was in an area of outstanding natural beauty and it was heartbreaking to see how they have decimated the countryside. I’m not in the least surprised that people are upset about these new planning laws.
Yes I think HS2 still had a big impact on this by election result as well as tactical voting going on ie labour voters switching to the lib dems on a mass scale in order to oust the conservative candidate.
NIMBY!!!
Nimby not in my back yard.
Ciaranbrok your a fool
Knock down town centres and use that land "build back better." All the services are there water, gas , electric, affordable housing, come on councils wake up and move with the times instead of lining your pockets.
Shame about the censorship
They have to house the illegal immigrants somewhere.
Same where I live. 4000 homes, no more roads, doctors, schools.
Lots of tiny accommodation being quickly put into place the last few months with single windows. They look very depressing.
And the low ceilings. Don’t understand the small windows in a dark, dull country.
Stop building houses, fund the NHS instead
Shy ones needs to talk about ecosia they are a search engine that plants trees
Why are people still going on about this borinnnngggg
Any green belt land inside the M25 should be removed and be built on to solve the southern England housing storage.
They really ought to scrap this HS2 and calm down the mass building up of rural towns/villages. All of this is burdened by continuing immigration levels putting excessive pressure on the housing sector. As for Winchester I find it ridiculous. That free space is countryside. I went to university in Winchester and the constituency is unfortunately full of middle class guardianistas and people unable to accept that it’s a city and is going to be built on. That housing shown in the clip isn’t even that bad as it’s already in a massively built up suburb (Stanmore).
