Basically how my brother Spencer taught me back when he was fitting. Couldn’t have explained it any easier. Definitely will use the sharpie technique 😂
Was working a propane storage yard job with my dad as his prepper. He said something stupid and pissed me off so I doubled the bevel angle on the next few pieces. (It's been years, but I think it was 8 or 10" heavy wall for liquid propane.) He got the point and didn't do it again.
I like to use a 1/2 round file on the i.s.(inside). Get the rust off & (removing the thin "skin" on the i.s. of the land). Now the true size of the land will be had. Will have to sand the land again to get the landing to the desired thickness (b/c the file has taken off the thin "skin" that makes the land narrower).

Gotta use what you got 😄
last time I did any hand grinding was 2007 and I've had numb hands ever since.
Every time I look at a grinder my elbow hurts lol
Seeing you stop a wheel? Firing offence in my plant....
I drove for a steel company for 20 years, and never heard of 13 inch pipe
It's pretty common with 500+ wall pipe
@@chadkennedy529 maybe I just dont remember, but I hauled many loads of pipe out of houston

That is a great tip!
Done this on stainless steel pipe. As long as it's cut straight. Pretty easy.
A good cut leads to a great fit
Try a ceramic 36grit on a backing plate works magic also
We will have to give that a go!
So informative ❤
Glad it was helpful!
Awesome job
Thank you! Cheers!
Thanks for the video. Could you please.tell us about your plasma table. Any recommendations? Thanks Sparky
