This was actually one of the hardest cars to shift in AutoTopNL history! So with the right experience, its even faster!
What did you find hard about the shifting?
I have an S60 with this exact gearbox and I love it, it's very precise
@@MoraisGT probably due the heavy clutch
@@MoraisGT yes you sucked, sorry to say it.. but i guess like you say it needs experience to get that right.. nice video by the way, you did your best and thats okay :)
Supra MK4 ??
You got the same with a t5 v70 couple of months ago too.
I think it's a single mass clutch upgrade, so a bit hard. And by seeing the mileage, it seems to be normal for the gearbox
You probably have one of the best careers in the world mate. You make it look like It is extremely awesome to drive in the Autobahn. I hope you stay safe mate and keep coming up with videos like this. Cheers from Malaysia!
i mean, it is extreme amazing to drive on the autobahn. especially if u have a faster car!
@@meinkreuztutweh3462 indeed!! I would love to drive there one day with a fast car
@@Dharshanth.k great until you discover a speed camera. seriously, asa guest you will be surprised
Love how this car is on almost 341km. Most people here in the UK start getting worried when their car hits 100k miles. Proof here that well maintained and highly modified cars can do way more than that!
Almost certainly not the original bottom end but maybe, hard maybe. They tend to die around that mileage, to see one with 600hp survive more than 100k miles with the original bottom end would be shocking to me.
Yessir
@@johnnymatias3027 No European car dies at that mileage, that's still low. Anything below 600-700k km's when properly maintained will not have any significant wear on the internals. I've seen engines with 900k opened up still have original honing in the cylinders, that's how little wear there was. Most engines are designed to be within original operating specs at 1 million kilometers when used normally. That's because some people don't use them normally and there has to be that safety margin of durability built in. In fact, theoretically, a properly maintained engine in ideal conditions can work forever and operate forever, with zero wear. It's just that this theorically ideal scenario doesn't exist in reality because fuel is never perfect, lubrication is not always brand new, and engines don't operate constantly at exact same temprature. It's those factors that produce wear, so properly maintaining engines is key, oil, oil filters, fuel filters, proper fuel, gaskets when needed, piston rings, etc. All those are wear and tear parts that manufacturers plan for replacement after certain time or mileage, and if you stick to those manufacturer recommendations, your engine will work forever, the rest of the car will rust to pieces before the engine fails.
The issue is most people nowadays don't service their cars at all and just lease them for 2-3 years, put a bunch of issues onto them and then those cars are sold again, not maintained by new owners either, and that's the circle of unreliability. Especially in the US, where shockingly like 90% of car owners don't ever take them to a official dealers service as the manufacturer recommends. 90% of new cars on US roads never had a oil change done.
@@derbigpr500 you are wrong about so many things in this comment its hard to want to correct you. European cars aren't some paragon of reliability, I'm a mechanic, I'm aware of their shortfalls and I'm not sure where you even got 600-700k kms, I almost guarantee you the average miles driven before a car dies isn't that high for any brand or any country, let alone an entire continent. I literally work on these Volvos daily, you're lucky if you hit 400k kms without issues. Also, cars don't magically stop wearing their internals when operating at their proper temp with new oil, it will wear less than at other temps with worse oil, gas, coolant etc, but it's simply not true at all that engine components don't wear at all at operating temp. I'd say if perfectly maintained, most new cars won't have an issue until around 150-200k miles. You're right about one thing: most people don't properly take care of their vehicles but I've seen dozens of Volvos who's owners have come in early for every oil change, gotten all recommended fixes done prior to them becoming critical or damaging other components and those 5 and especially the 4 cylinders will still burn oil like a mother fucker because Volvo decided to skip an oil compression ring for less friction on the drivetrain but the increased oil consumption made those engines driving grenades, as a badly consuming engine will consume all its oil and then destroy itself between 2 proper intervaled oil changes if the oil isn't checked regularly, difficult when some of these cars have defective oil measuring modules and no dipstick. If you do everything perfect, you also need luck, a spare car and a good towing service to stretch a car out for over 500k kms, as in, not a vehicle with any defective components or that any defective components are put onto during fixes.
drives like shit tho
This car deserves more attention.
Awesome build! Glad to see more and more fast tuned R's on youtube. Cheers!
Hey red angel ive been following your build for a few years will the be any updates on the build soon?
341k km. Still going strong💪
the atacama interior on black exterior looks absolutely stunning. and the space ball transmission is incredibly timeless. dream car right here.
Nice to see more Volvos here Thanks 🥳
remains wonderful that sound of the 5 cylinders. 🥰
I'd rather hear this than the sound my wife produces when I'm in the kitchen and she asks to bring her a drink.🤭
big turbo !
You are doing something verry wrong here😂
I know.
I accept that risk.😁😜
@@LL-LLLL9 not necessary.
she smokes heavy tobacco now, it sounds a lot better already.
Gears seem pretty long, the way the motor pulls through the rpm range is so satisfying to watch.
This is the second video from my car on your channel and I love every second of it. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
Where did you get the steering wheel from? Awesome car!
Have you had any problems with the Haldex system?
Not at all. Til now, everything works fine including the AWD system

Now you make me feel like building a older Volvo with huge turbo and lot's of power...
You should.
God I want this car so bad. I drove the "offroad" non-performance version of this as my first car and loved it. I love the 5 cylinder sound plus incredible practicality. So more power, a manual transmission, and better suspension would be the absolute dream.
speedo is insanely accurate +/- 2kmh
That is Volvo😎
Seems like a Volvo thing. Speedo on my Volvo is -2 km/h off at 200 gps
This channel has made me very interested in Volvo's!
Among 15 cars I have owned, ultimately the best ever! Those seats are the most comfortable you can find in ordinary car. 5c engines are great, reliable, fast and smooth. Building quality is incomparable. I talk about old genuine swedish volvo up to 2008.
There the best card ever
as a previous volvo owner, i totally would encourage you looking into one!
5 cylinder engine sound awesome 👌👌👌
This is making us miss the summer with our S60R and V70R 😢 let's hope the good weather here in Canada comes soon!
Can't beat the sound of an 5 cylinder engine :)
the V10 will beat it
An inline 6 will
Yea but atleast it still sounds neat
Doug Demuro just did an S60R which made me curious about the V70 and here you are with it.
Had volvo s60 2.0t 5 cylinder. My god the sound was just beautiful. Shame they don't do those engiens.
That thing is a real monster! I love it. Yeah the dual clutch high hp cars are lovely and even faster but for pure visceral overload you can’t beat a manual with mad power and an awesome soundtrack, what a car.
Reminds me of the engine I had in the Ford Focus RS MK2, it's the same sound...
Because it is the same engine.
@@davidmoore4615not exactly the same, it's the same motor out of the C30 which is a slightly different style of motor but still a 5 cylinder!
Alot of people talk about the Audi 5 cylinder and its sound.. THIS sounds so much better... WAUW, great job whoever decided to tune this
I don't think that sounds better than a 5 cylinder from audi, for me they make the best 5 cylinders, opinions
nice sleeper! so old yet so gold
Beautiful automobile, a beast, that sound, Volvo for life.
I'm currently restoring a 2007 S60R for my daughter as her first car. $ bite. Yes they do.
Camera angle on this was unique. Sound was solid and I dug the Volvo.
Such a nice example ; late phase with the updated gear stick and torque upgrade, black with the atacama interior manual transmission and my guys tuned it to perfection, boom!dream car right there ❤
Best car channel out there. Keep up guys. Greetings from Austria
I wish there would have been a walkaround. this thing looks sick.
gotta love the inline 5s..reminds me of the Viper sounds down low
Another volvo r just a day after doug's review of the s60r. Lovely!
WE NEED AUTOBAHNS IN THE UK!
Nice run in a nice car.
Suggestion, (on hard acceleration) let off the gas a bit more before pushing down the clutch or else the clutch will give in much faster than necessary...
This reminds me of the first couple days driving my R😂
Best sounding car in the world. The B5254T4 will always be my favorite engine.
7:27, you won't regret it.
The B524TX was stronger. No cracked cylinders on it. Just swap the 2.5 with the 2.4 and let's go. Or forged engine
@@thomas56701 Unfortunately true, the B5254T4 has issues with cracked cylinders, but it won't stop me from buying a V70R. But but, I need to take that into consideration. Perhaps have a separate fund for a built engine for when the stock engine inevitably shits itself.
Tanks 💪 more Volvo !!!!!
Incredible car for 340.000km
its almost new engine for volvo
Incredible just because it has a tuned engine?
Have been waiting for this🙌🏼
so this volvo is driven more then 300000km? or am i wrong? amazing!
My S60 have 351k xD and still have power 2.4T engine.
My S80 2.3T is 365k km clocked-in and still doing very well.
I'd be willing to bet that engine has been rebuild and sleeved. These engines crack cylinder liners on stock power.
300k is just the break-in period for those engines
@@apancher Wrong, I know people who run 500whp on these engines with stock internals. B5244T5 are forged from the factory.
This car is amazing
Augen zu und genießen,ich habe das Glück auch einen zu haben und meiner hat 360000 km auf der Uhr und das Ding rennt wie der Teufel
You know you've made a reliable car when you are rocking a big turbo at 341,000 kilometers about (212,000) miles
I oozed my V70R, but I guarantee you that engine has been gone through. These engines crack cylinders liners on stock power.
super, drove a V70R quite long ago
thanks, made my day!
That pulls like its higher than 566, still keeps going at the high end
Its sooo strong on boost.. damn!
Such a sleeper!😍
But I will feel safe in a Volvo! 🙏🏼
Would be nice to see a full review of this monster 👌
I love steering wheel!!
Where is this car from? I saw an presumably identical one in Osnabrück. Is it this one?
But where did that steering wheel come from?? One of the best cars, ever.
I have one in the Middle East, I want to know what it takes to become like this 🙏
That 5 cilinder sound is unbeatable o:))
Who needs an stereo when you have a 5 cylinder engine?
Nice headgear 😁
The new camera angle gives us a very good look at your nose - and yes, it's a good-looking nose! 🙂 I must say the interior of the car looks really good considering it's done over 340,000 km already. As powerful as it might be, it just doesn't look at all relaxing to drive. It looked like you weren't really enjoying the drive as you usually do in other cars.
I have one in the Middle East, I want to know what it takes to become like this
almost gave u a smooch when u closed the doors
Why did u delete last video with that Volvo uploaded yesterday??
Nice intro
That's a rapid car for sure.
Does AutoTop mention somehwere how they film their povs? I mean I see how they record their head pov. But what kind of gopros and mics do they use?
I have an S60R that I want to record videos with but I'm not too sure which gopros and mics I should get.
What happened to the 304km/hr video you posted on this car 5 days ago?
Nice ride.
Thanks
Its a fucking beast
A real Volvo with 340k km
Amazing !!!

Ouch, take care of that ear man it's all squished by the headband :D
273 km/h 👍👍✅✅
Is this build on the 2.5l engine?
Yep
I love volvos! Safest sleepers ever. My s80 2.5t 2005 has 240,000 mi and still pulls hard, oil stays clean and doesn't burn. Spacious.Stereo is great. One of the best cars I've ever owned. 😊 just do maintenance and they will go forever.
better than bnw
Wish mine could go this fast !!!
What's that steering wheel called?
Do s60 T5
Back when Volvo had interesting cars.
Learn how to shift. Dont clutch before you take your foot off the acceleration.
Awesome!
O tak
I know right
340k km OMG
How to achieve that R5 sound in my C30 T5 on low revs?? I’ve got custom catback Magnaflow 2.5” and up to 3500rpm it sounds like shit, something like way to loud R4. Over 3500 its much better, but who drives in a city like that..
dude 340km/ 222k miles on the clock
Why there is no times in the video ?
Big turbo gaaaaaap pssssss
what app are you using? :)
340000 kilometers only.
Halfway.
Sho Would've been Awesome to see what the Wagon looks like 🙄🙄
Bruh at least you got a video
Next nissan fairlady 370z
What year is this Volvo V70? Never seen one with that interior
I think its a 2004 i could be wrong maybe its a 2007!!
@@Speedacey It is from 2004
I got to say this: you've missed the exit for Ausfahrt too many times. You w ill never get to Ausfahrt no matter what car, what power. Destiny, you see...
